Look you're right paying for DLC to fix in game gliches sucks ass but DLC to add extra character and event items is ok. Paying 4 characters that are already on the disc though is just plan wrong (should be a crime). I pre ordered the game so I didn't have 2 pay 4 the extra characters. Look's like i agree with you more then I though I did.
I think it comes down to timing. If the content isn't on disc, and if they wait a lengthy amount of time to give their game longevity, I don't have a problem with that. But a couple characters that are on disc, as you said, should be a crime. Not to mention they come out with a new version of a game 3-5 months, killing the life span of the original product. Capcom is hurting themselves in the long run, looking for short term success.

Now there's talk of a super MvC3 with the fixes, instead of fixing what they already have. So you're paying for fixes.

Yes MMO, I've covered it for the previous couple of weeks. So far, the free MMO is only for PC and will not be coming to PS3. No reports yet if it will be heading to other consoles.

Agreed with everything you say man. Gamer etiquette is completely dead in my mind to the point I rarely Online battle anymore on the game save for my trophy achievements. But seriously man aside from dead gamer etiquette does anyone even have the concept how to properly play a fighting game anymore!? I swear I fight like dudes who just spam shit like Dr. D's Plasma Beam or Sentinel(universal cheap character of MvsC3) like they get some sick twisted pleasure from it ya know?
I noticed this, many people love to spam certain moves or a set combo. They never adapt on the fly like they used to in arcades. I can't tell you how many times I've seen spiderman's 6 hit combo in MvC2 over and over. (launch, top 3 button/bottom 3 button combo) Competition just isn't the same anymore. I rarely see gamers grind it out combo for combo, trying to one-up each other.

But man I may not be one of the best players out there but I respect my fellow opponent and never play the cheap characters like Sentinel and just try my best at beating them with what I do know and experiment with all kinds of unique team combo's. I just hope we get some cool and out there DLC characters like Venom but I also want somebody new like Symbiote Scream.
Fighting games never had that stigma of "being the best." You always took it one fight at a time, because every opponent is different. Well.... at least they used to be different. You could have 5 different guys use the same character, and play with them differently. Not so much of that going on these days. Capcom better announce some kick ass DLC at E3 or gamers are going to be pissed.
@EventStatus True that. I want some classics back for sure like Colossus, B.B. Hood, and Venom to just name a few but I'd also want some cool new characters that would blow my mind away. I do praise them for putting in like 19 new characters in the game but seriously they need to diverse the roster up more with different series and new characters. Like Capcom could have picked several other games of theirs to throw in new characters but instead they just double/triple up on specific series.
BB Hood was great! Many people are angry about it ONLY being 19 new characters, since fans have been waiting so long for a sequel. I do miss Jin from MvC2 and the game needs balance. I just hope Capcom doesn't abandon the game the way it is, or decides to make a GOTY or arcade edition version, which is more than likely.

Seriously if they want to make more money then they should be listening to the fact the fans want more new characters and even want revamped old characters like BB Hood, Jin, or Strider. But their is only one way to truly find out. If any DLC characters are coming up its most likely the rumoured Frank West and marvel character that was cutout for balance reasons or the most requested characters Venom and Megaman X
to be honest i think that they need a balance of characters that don't appear much in crossovers for example Onimusha was an incredible game by capcom and yet they don't bother to put an Onimusha character in it not even one or for Marvel they didnt put ghost rider or gambit in it granted that gambit was in the 2nd installment of MVC the companies needs to promote their other characters that they have which the other characters are not appreciated enough.
After seeing Dante's ending, it's safe to say Ghost Rider will play a part eventually in the game. However, it's sad not to see more diversity on Capcoms side of the character selection, since they have so many franchises to pick from.

Ghost Rider I feel will be eventually in some part of MvC, since he encounters a certain character in an ending. But I do agree they need to bring in other franchise characters to help street fighter. It worked very well with Final Fight characters. (Guy, Cody)

Yeah, I played Onimusha (damn that Giant Bee boss!) it would have been nice if Sam was in MvC3. Hell, I'd even like to see some character in the game Capcom doesn't own. (Streets of Rage, etc) Take some old school characters and give them some credit. You never know, some of them may get a revived game.

Online play for this game is total garbage, but I do like the game and its art style just my opinion, Capcom knows what they are doing people complain about MVC3 not having as many characters as MVC2, 3 will have as many or more, but they all will be through DLC. Gotta love Capcom's Shenanigans lol
Capcom cheaped out on the online AGAIN, they haven't learned anything since SF4. They definitely know how to milk people, it's almost an art form to them at this point.
There may be hope for Shenmue. There's a chance they're releasing it on the dreamcast collection, and if that does well. We may see them finish the story. It's a long shot, but still a chance.
They really need something like Power Stone right now, but they would indeed have to do it big. Leader boards, etc. But then with that comes a new set of problems, exploits, hackings and the works. Capcom would have to work hard to prevent those things.
They've made it clear they don't care anymore, especially over these recent weeks of news. But they feel they can get away with it. It's time gamers start showing with their wallets and stop falling for their crap. These companies don't run the market, we do. We decide what sells and what doesn't. Without us buying their product, they don't have success.

That's how it used to be back in the day, unlocking characters and harder modes. It gave gamers a sense of accomplishment. Now, just have some money and you can have it all without effort.

That's what many people have advised me to do. Just wait for the version with all the DLC on the disc. People are getting tired of being milked and companies are going to feel the effect of that very soon.
I'll be honest, at first I didn't think I was gonna like this video, but I actually thoroughly enjoyed it :P Also when you first brought up cheap bosses, the first thing that came to my mind was Seth from SFIV, mainly because I didn't play pretty much any old fighting games. It also had to do with the fact that they gave him like everyone move in the game, and made him relentless

At this point it seems Capcom doesn't care about their fans. It really is about numbers for them. It seems only this generation, companies have made it known they're going to screw their fans. It wasn't like this long ago when you beat the game, it unlocked harder levels, different modes, more characters. Now, you just have to pay out of pocket for those.

@EventStatus I completely agree with you, but their "scapegoat" is the fact that jill, for instance, doesn't have a complete moveset or damage/health values on the disc.
More depressing is how game companies are rewarding players for being bad these days with mechanics such as the lv3 x factor - which on a few characters is borderline ridiculous even against blocking players. Even with the broken combos of Marvel vs Capcom 2, I still think it's hype will be higher than anything mvc3 will bring.
I think companies rewarding bad players is horrible. It defeats the purpose of a fighting game. And the more this happens, the more player will stay away from it. MvC3 was beat out by the game Catherine by a large margin in japan. People are catching onto their milking ways and are thinking twice before purchasing.
I was iffy about this game before it came out as well, but now that I have it, gotta admit I like it.....no, it aint perfect, but I wasn't expecting perfection.....the art I happen to like, but you're right bout online....laggy as hell AND you can't see a match while you wait for your turn?? But I hear they're working on that so we'll see. Last boss is cheap but I've fought cheaper. And as for the DLCs, I'm just not gonna bother.....enough characters in the game to learn without sweatin' that.
Hopefully they do work on it with a patch. Capcom lag and fighting go hand and hand since SF4. Matter of fact, I'll say SFHD they brought out not too long ago. But as long as you're happy with the product, that's all that matters.
Not me, no. I only play it over my friends house, as other gamers here said to wait to purchase it. But there's some gamers here who seem up to the task.
That's capcom for you, but mostly their GOTY Editions usually cost around 40 or so with the DLC included. If not, what they'll do is charge 60 for the GOTY Edition and then drop the regular edition price drastically, like around 30 bucks.

I think capcom is going to pull this microwave fighting bullshit for a while, especially since the sales numbers are high. We can expect a repeat of SF4 and multiple editions. They've done it forever, Ultra, Super, Turbo, Tournament, GOTY edition. It was one thing to pop in 25 to 50 cents for that type of thing, but when you're paying 60 bucks for that short of time, people will feel robbed.

to be honest i think that they need a balance of characters that don't appear much in crossovers for example Onimusha was an incredible game by capcom and yet they don't bother to put an Onimusha character in it not even one or for Marvel they didnt put ghost rider or gambit in it granted that gambit was in the 2nd installment of MVC the companies needs to promote their other characters that they have which the other characters are not appreciated enough.

After seeing Dante's ending, it's safe to say Ghost Rider will play a part eventually in the game. However, it's sad not to see more diversity on Capcoms side of the character selection, since they have so many franchises to pick from.

@EventStatus yeah man i know what you mean i just think that capcom and marvel should include some of their underrated characters like Ghost Rider, Samonosuke ect.. i think that as much as i love Street fighter they should include more characters from other games than mainly street fighter. i think they should include characters from some other game and comic book titles that they hardly ever include much in their promotional video games to promote underrated characters

Ghost Rider I feel will be eventually in some part of MvC, since he encounters a certain character in an ending. But I do agree they need to bring in other franchise characters to help street fighter. It worked very well with Final Fight characters. (Guy, Cody)

@EventStatus yeah man you said it! :) i feel a bit better about ghost rider when you put in that perspective. and i agree with you entirely with the whole final fight characters aswell. have you ever played onimusha by any chance? capcom made the onimusha games and they are like the old traditional resident evil games in terms of gameplay with a proper combat system and camera angles from the old RE games. what im saying is that they should include an onimusha character in a MVC game.

Yeah, I played Onimusha (damn that Giant Bee boss!) it would have been nice if Sam was in MvC3. Hell, I'd even like to see some character in the game Capcom doesn't own. (Streets of Rage, etc) Take some old school characters and give them some credit. You never know, some of them may get a revived game.

Online play for this game is total garbage, but I do like the game and its art style just my opinion, Capcom knows what they are doing people complain about MVC3 not having as many characters as MVC2, 3 will have as many or more, but they all will be through DLC. Gotta love Capcom's Shenanigans lol

They really need something like Power Stone right now, but they would indeed have to do it big. Leader boards, etc. But then with that comes a new set of problems, exploits, hackings and the works. Capcom would have to work hard to prevent those things.

I'll be honest, at first I didn't think I was gonna like this video, but I actually thoroughly enjoyed it :P Also when you first brought up cheap bosses, the first thing that came to my mind was Seth from SFIV, mainly because I didn't play pretty much any old fighting games. It also had to do with the fact that they gave him like everyone move in the game, and made him relentless

At this point it seems Capcom doesn't care about their fans. It really is about numbers for them. It seems only this generation, companies have made it known they're going to screw their fans. It wasn't like this long ago when you beat the game, it unlocked harder levels, different modes, more characters. Now, you just have to pay out of pocket for those.

@EventStatus I completely agree with you, but their "scapegoat" is the fact that jill, for instance, doesn't have a complete moveset or damage/health values on the disc.
More depressing is how game companies are rewarding players for being bad these days with mechanics such as the lv3 x factor - which on a few characters is borderline ridiculous even against blocking players. Even with the broken combos of Marvel vs Capcom 2, I still think it's hype will be higher than anything mvc3 will bring.

I think companies rewarding bad players is horrible. It defeats the purpose of a fighting game. And the more this happens, the more player will stay away from it. MvC3 was beat out by the game Catherine by a large margin in japan. People are catching onto their milking ways and are thinking twice before purchasing.

I was iffy about this game before it came out as well, but now that I have it, gotta admit I like it.....no, it aint perfect, but I wasn't expecting perfection.....the art I happen to like, but you're right bout online....laggy as hell AND you can't see a match while you wait for your turn?? But I hear they're working on that so we'll see. Last boss is cheap but I've fought cheaper. And as for the DLCs, I'm just not gonna bother.....enough characters in the game to learn without sweatin' that.

That's capcom for you, but mostly their GOTY Editions usually cost around 40 or so with the DLC included. If not, what they'll do is charge 60 for the GOTY Edition and then drop the regular edition price drastically, like around 30 bucks.

thats wassup, i thought i was the only one that thought like that. in streetfighter 4 how come the master didnt remain as gill? he never was defeated, they replaced him with a cheesy similar character look. seth lol. gill is one of the best masters in fighting games, in my opinion. i cant tell you how upset i was when i got mvc3, i played it for 2 hours an got all the characters.. like really two hours? is capcom serious right now lol.

I think capcom is going to pull this microwave fighting bullshit for a while, especially since the sales numbers are high. We can expect a repeat of SF4 and multiple editions. They've done it forever, Ultra, Super, Turbo, Tournament, GOTY edition. It was one thing to pop in 25 to 50 cents for that type of thing, but when you're paying 60 bucks for that short of time, people will feel robbed.
