I may get flamed for this but the sawed off takes some skill to an extent, ya the spread and power is huge but it has no range with one shot and a long reload, a veteran player with a gnasher will always beat a veteran player with a sawed off in my opinion, unless you don't see them coming, it is so easy to avoid, next time you play ranked against a team of good players, try the sawed off and I guarantee you wouldn't do as well as you would have done with a gnasher.

i dont care what anybody says, the reason they put the sawed off in, was because when somebody new comes to the game, they constantly get beat and killed, so they brought this into it to give noobs an easy approach to the game. Which i think is shocking, because gow has never been an easy game for average players. and to bring something out like the sawed off, makes this game just like any other game. a noob fest. It was added in so players could counter gears veterans who totally abuse the gnasher will wallbouncing. Epic wanted to make the game as accesible as possible and not only cater just to gears veterans. Alot of people complained about wallbouncers in Gears 2 and Gears 1 and Epic did something about it. Props to them I LOVE destroying wallbouncing fags with the sawed off, greatest feeling ever!

The retro lancer is my solution for sawed off - it slows them down as they're charging you making it difficult for them to get close enough. But, yeah. Those who use the sawed off know they suck.
What I don't understand about the matchmaking system is why doesnt it just pair you up with people who are the same level/range as you? Is it really fair to have a level 80 player playing against a level 5 player? Multiplayer is should be fair and balanced and not just cater to the people who have no lives play the game 24/7 and memorize every inch of the map.

The sos is only effective at very close range and its only one bullet however the bullet spread is pretty much your entire screen so its almost impossible to miss. Either remove it from the game or remove the gorgon pistol and put the sos in its place.
1) Make a permanent server for gnasher only. we know they can do it because of all the extra playlists added e.g torque bow tag etc.
2) Make the sawed off a power weapon.
3) Remove the gun completely from the game.
I cant understand why they would make a gun that would render the gnasher useless in a head to head situation when it has been in the gears of war saga from the beginning.
I hate to say it, but the sawed off has ruined the game for me. No more epic gnasher shotgun battles which require skill. The gnasher is almost useless against the sawed off whether there has been a patch or not because i cannot tell the difference. thanks gears :(

But when I see a level 96 standing in the same spot the entire game and only popping out to sawed off someone, it kinda makes me wonder how much fun they're really having. I get bored standing around waiting for kills, so I try to use my gnasher, and every time I get close to someone 3 other people retro lancer me down. It gets to be pretty annoying after awhile, but in the end it's just a game and I have fun playing it. And FUCK any COD game.

Secondly, i disagree, The sawed off has the same gib range [body range/1-hit kill range] that the gnasher shotgun does, while you might be able to down someone from a farther distance with the gnasher, you still can get easily outplayed by the sawed off sue to it's STILL op range and 180 degree radius that it can kill in front of it. So no if you get killed by a sawed off The sawed off USER sucks!!
Same thing happens when I use it, I use every bullet that I have in the clip when I pick it off the ground without dying. WAY too easy of a gun to use. If I'm having an off day with aim for the gnasher or haven't warmed up yet, I pay by getting killed. With the sawed off, not possible.

honestly they had plenty of chances to punish your reload but they were huge idiots. the problem isn't that the sawed-off is good it's that it takes away from the skill aspect of the game. you can use the sawed-off and go 1-1 (against people who can actually kill you when you're reloading...) or use the gnasher and have the potential to kill multiple opponents in one run.
they are hitting the sawed off with a nerfbat do to the fact that it was accounting for 70% of the kills in quick match games, hopefully they hit it hard enough.

@creedAHH Nope, it's just the way connection works. Host has 0 ping, players can have anywhere from 10 to 200 ping without lagging & sliding on the floor. Generally if you get killed by the sawed off from more than 3 feet away, it's because you yourself was lagging. And for the record, I've been playing Gears since 2006. I'll always be a gnasher fan. I do NOT use the sawed off.

@Pu9103 i use the gnasher but i agree with u 100% and the only reason y everybody wants it banned is because they cant HANDLE it......and its not that hard to beat it ...it has 1 bullet....u can carry 6 bullets and it takes 4ever to reload if u get the active reload it takes 4ever and a year if u miss the active reaload so if u die by someone with a sawed off and u have a gnasher than u suck...u need to learn 2 adapt 2 situations

But when I see a level 96 standing in the same spot the entire game and only popping out to sawed off someone, it kinda makes me wonder how much fun they're really having. I get bored standing around waiting for kills, so I try to use my gnasher, and every time I get close to someone 3 other people retro lancer me down. It gets to be pretty annoying after awhile, but in the end it's just a game and I have fun playing it. And FUCK any COD game.

Secondly, i disagree, The sawed off has the same gib range [body range/1-hit kill range] that the gnasher shotgun does, while you might be able to down someone from a farther distance with the gnasher, you still can get easily outplayed by the sawed off sue to it's STILL op range and 180 degree radius that it can kill in front of it. So no if you get killed by a sawed off The sawed off USER sucks!!

Same thing happens when I use it, I use every bullet that I have in the clip when I pick it off the ground without dying. WAY too easy of a gun to use. If I'm having an off day with aim for the gnasher or haven't warmed up yet, I pay by getting killed. With the sawed off, not possible.

honestly they had plenty of chances to punish your reload but they were huge idiots. the problem isn't that the sawed-off is good it's that it takes away from the skill aspect of the game. you can use the sawed-off and go 1-1 (against people who can actually kill you when you're reloading...) or use the gnasher and have the potential to kill multiple opponents in one run.

@creedAHH Nope, it's just the way connection works. Host has 0 ping, players can have anywhere from 10 to 200 ping without lagging & sliding on the floor. Generally if you get killed by the sawed off from more than 3 feet away, it's because you yourself was lagging. And for the record, I've been playing Gears since 2006. I'll always be a gnasher fan. I do NOT use the sawed off.

It Stress's me, the people who have played gears since gears 1, KNOW that they cana use the Gnasher, and still take the "bad kid" route and use it... Even the Level 100 on gears 2 players, use the sawn off, i mean cmon, if you were level 100 you should have some gears skill of using a gnasher yet they persist to use a Sawn Off, gun needs to be removed completely!
