Got an Aveo Ls with 5sp manual: decent mileage. But I can´t quit complaining on its cheap finish, awful bouncing suspension, underpowered engine, excesively close gearing, severe understeer, uncomfortable seats... My sister and I went From Mexico City to Veracruz a couple weeks ago on her Aveo. All I can say is you´ve gotta knock down the gas pedal all the time and play a lot with the gears, especially on curvy roads, if you want to keep up with the traffic. Sporty feel without the speed SUCKS!

Hi all just wanted you all to know i own a 2007 Aveo LT. I do agree it needs more power but its a damn good car. Nothing to complain about. It now has 34,000 miles on it and when i bought it in April of 07 it had 110 miles on it.Still in the same brakes on it still. I also own an 06 chevy Uplander also bought new in 05 and had nothing but headaches and still do i will take a million Aveos over the Uplander any day.The Aveo is great on gas i have the 5speed manual trans..I would recomend the Aveo

The only solace I take in my ownership of a 2006 Aveo is in the fact that, as this thread can attest, there is a weird market for them, despite what miserable little bits of trash they are.

Mediocre gas mileage, boggy acceleration uphill, awful body lean, and they're unreliable as all get out.

I'm glad somebody wants them. I'll happily spend an extra grand to get the hell out of this horrid little tin piece of crap.

I have Aveo 2007..its great one powerfull engine 16v and extra design driving 195kmh max speed on 4000 ...I am faster then Passat 1.9 TDI 2004.....10 sec need to catch 100kmh....Very economic on long road...and very very great&smooth for driving...Suprisingly cheap price for this car...CHEVROLET...I LOVE YOU

Well small 4 cyl. powerplants have never been GM's strong point. Probably better off leaving it to daewoo - but I do agree it should have more power. I am renting one right now while my Grand Am is in the shop and it's a nice little car.

The ecotec is pretty good. It may not be as efficient as Honda's and Toyota's 1.8, but it's also quite a bit more powerful. And I'm not just talking numbers.

I think GMNA would be able to pull off a good small 4 cylinder. Pretty much everything they've done lately has been amazing. They even managed to make the w-body into a respectable car.

Well I'm not saying that GM can't pull off a powerful 4 cyl. engine - the high output quad 4 had 180-190 hp in the EARLY 90's (which is just unreal for that time period) but unfortunately it was pretty unreliable. The ecotec is a good engine but too big for the Aveo. If they could downsize it considerably and still keep it reliable they would have a good engine for this car.

Haha Funny that you mention the W bodies - I had a '90 Buick Regal w/ 3100 V6. That car was reliable and comfortable but SLOW as all hell. The 3800 and GS changed all that thankfully!!
