This is because you have the greatest multiplier with the middle class where funds are injected right back to the economy. No, man. Civilians die as collateral damage from U.S. air attacks all the time. In my opinion, it's better that ten soldiers(any soldiers) die than one civilian. A soldier knows he's risking his life when he walks out the front door, but a civilian is just trying to live.

I don't think it's necessary for this whole nation to be organized and make decisions under one banner. There is no "national interest" for Congress to make decisions for. Even Adam Smith said that a nation is made up of conflicting interests. I think that the person who's most qualified to make decisions about what affects you, is you. We can enforce our own communal decisions in our own communities, not that we'd need to because they'd be made by consensus.

McCain will actually increase taxes for the middle class because he is going to tax health insurance for your companies, so that is going to come straight out of your paycheck. I've been hearing that smokescreen argument (what about rape?)for over 25 years or so. The fact is during a rape the woman is such a traumatic state that a pregnancy is very, very unlikely. I remember a stat years ago that stated that less than 1/10th of 1% of women rape get pregnant///probably less nowadays. The public uses abortion as a means of "birth control" and that's the real issue. 4,000 murders per day of innocent unborn...reaching 48,000,000 since 1973...God help us...

Really ?? Help clear it up for me..what would be the accurate stat then ? Actually that came from Dr Bernard Nathanson who operated the largest abortion clinics in Ca. for many years and has since quit doing them. State control over a woman's "womb"? sounds a little sterile there. How about a "child" and what about their rights? Most (if not all) women that choose to abort their child suffer many psychological problems that stem from guilt about their choice. I've known & counseled many.

ooh. A quick and mistaken presumption on my ideals Mr.Otacon. But your point is very valid. However, allowing people to have guns will mean allowing ALL people to have guns. Even if the crime rate were to go down, it would not disappear. And yes parents should have their ass in gear and take care of their children. But there will be parents that won't. And the children should not be judged by their parents mistake. They will still need help.

The 80 year olds, and 12 year olds that have been raped have asked for an abortion because they do not want a child to be born of the traumatic event. Could there be specefic exceptions for these people? Maybe police should have rape as a higher priority, or should find ways to be more efficient about protecting woman?

You'll find women who own guns don't get raped. As for 12 year old like you mentioned, protecting them is the responsibility of parents. Too many people are relying on the government to make up for their incompetence and irresponsibility. Your comment is typical socialism: "We need to find more efficient ways of protecting women." No, we need to have proper gun education, and start taking responsibility for our children. Switzerland, a largely pro-gun country, has among the lowest crime rates.
