No, John wrote while the second temple was still standing. The Old Covenant vanished when the entire Jewish economy ended in AD 70. There is no Old Covenant people today, therefore there can be no priesthood, sacrifice, or temple. They may eventually erect a building on the temple mount, but it won't be related to Bible prophecy at all. God's eternal temple under the New Covenant is His people, living stones in which He dwells.
The building of a third temple is pointless. There will never be an Old Covenant system or people again. The types and shadows of that system vanished in AD 70 never to return. God's covenant with man since then is the New Covenant in Christ.
It is the no 1 priority of the Order of Freemasons (NWO) to erect a third temple in Jerusalem to the Architect of the Universe (read anti-Christ). I don't have a problem with them living there. The problem is with people thinking they are a fulfillment of Bible prophecies. The Old Covenant ended in AD 70. Since then the focus has been the New Covenant. This eternal covenant includes both Jews and Gentiles in the body of Christ. Jesus is the temple, sacrifice, high priest, the land etc.

The second temple was still standing when Paul wrote Thessalonians. Daniel doesn't mention a third temple either. The Old Covenant age ended with the destruction of the second temple. Still no biblical text of a third temple.

The Bible does NOT prophesy that the Temple will be built before the return of Christ. Neither does it say Israel will become a nation again before the return of Christ!

The building of the Temple is a contradiction of what is stated in the Book of Revelation. The Book of Revelation states that Jesus is the Temple ( Revelation 21:22 ). Paul himself has stated that the Temple ceremonies are no longer needed and are done away with (Book of Hebrews and Book of Romans). The Ezekiel prophecies are for the Second Temple era which was fulfilled by Joshua the High priest(The Book of Zechariah). The Preterist churches are right. The creation of Israel is not Biblical.

Here is my thought on the Dome of the rock Mosque. It appears Antichrist will dismantle it and send it to one of the Arab nations or store it in a warehouse. This thought is based on the prophecy of Daniel 9:27 where Antichrist makes a covenant for seven years and I am supposing that covenant is needed from the UN to protect Israel from the Muslim/Arab world retaliating for the dismantlement.

No, John wrote while the second temple was still standing. The Old Covenant vanished when the entire Jewish economy ended in AD 70. There is no Old Covenant people today, therefore there can be no priesthood, sacrifice, or temple. They may eventually erect a building on the temple mount, but it won't be related to Bible prophecy at all. God's eternal temple under the New Covenant is His people, living stones in which He dwells.

I don't have a problem with them living there. The problem is with people thinking they are a fulfillment of Bible prophecies. The Old Covenant ended in AD 70. Since then the focus has been the New Covenant. This eternal covenant includes both Jews and Gentiles in the body of Christ. Jesus is the temple, sacrifice, high priest, the land etc.

My opinion is that the dome of the rock falls in line of gentiles trampling the outer court of the Temple which, I think, is the outside wall.

[I agree the place must have stunk. The Kidron (valley where the temple waste was channeled) must have been especially bad. No wonder it was a graveyard. You'd be appalled at some of the sloppy Quran translations on the market! Some of them are attempts to write the translation in a context of what the translator thinks the other culture perceives.
For example the "it's ok to beat your wife" verses in the Quran.
Understanding other CULTURES is more difficult than learning the language. And, cultures change when they exchange knowledge, music, food, etc..

It makes perfect sense that the Greek-speaking people would write in Greek.
There is no "divine language." God speaks to people in their own language.

2a. The New Testament was written in Koine Greek because the Christians had been driven out of Jerusalem by the Jews (prior to 70 AD) and had settled in the coastal city of Antioch.
Those who left Jerusalem had to learn Greek (Most already knew some of the language anyhow; it was common in Jerusalem.) and the new converts in Antioch only spoke Greek.

Hebrew didn't become a common day-to-day language (again) until after 1948 when Israel was founded.

The building of the Temple is a contradiction of what is stated in the Book of Revelation. The Book of Revelation states that Jesus is the Temple ( Revelation 21:22 ). Paul himself has stated that the Temple ceremonies are no longer needed and are done away with (Book of Hebrews and Book of Romans). The Ezekiel prophecies are for the Second Temple era which was fulfilled by Joshua the High priest(The Book of Zechariah). The Preterist churches are right. The creation of Israel is not Biblical.
