  • Fabo!!

  • JoanOfArc .... AMEN! He's got it ALL!!

  • Good GOD I love this man and this song!!!!

  • I PLAYED DRUMS WITH BOB AT THE COPA IN NY AND ALSO SINATR WHO WAS THE BEST OF ALL??????????? SEE PHIL AMBROS ON YOUTUBE SINATRA AND PHIL AMBROS

  • If he had lived he would have owned Vegas for 30 years.

  • I mean really, what a great cover of this song--it's absolutely superb!!!!!

  • Hey BarneyGoogle1950 - have you ever seen Sinatra take a song and swing it like this??!! Nobody could do it like Darin.

  • He was too big for this business!!!

  • Darin was a nice entertainer. No Sinatra, not by a long shot.

  • @BarneyGoogle1950 - Sinatra was great when he started - then he changed his style when he signed to Capitol - it's obvious that Bobby copied Sinatra's Capitol era - but I think Bobby was more entertaining - and a better singer.

  • @NeilThompson30 Bobby Darin can be enjoyed on his own terms, and he did die before his time--but he was never in a class with Sinatra. Never an "Only The Lonely" or"In The Wee Small Hours" masterpiece from Bobby. Read Will Friedwald, John Rockwell or Henry Pleasants on Sinatra. Frank was truly an artist, the greatest interpreter, and engaged serious thinkers about his art.

  • @BarneyGoogle1950 - of course Bobby was in the same class as Sinatra - he was as good as anybody - if someone argued that Crosby or Jolie were better, then fair enough - but I think he tried to cram everything into his short life because he knew it was gonna be short - rock 'n' roll, country, folk, cabaret, films - and he did it. I shouldn't really be arguing about Sinatra cause I like him so I'll now shut up, all the best.

  • Fantastic!

  • Great

  • Omg, if this does not give you goosebumps....AWESOME performer. Thanks for posting...."Stay with me now". I love Darin.

  • Good Sunday morning, everyone! The great Bobby Darin with one of his best to start this day. Enjoy, and I hope everyone has a great week!

  • Mack the Knife and Beyond the Sea are so amazing, but when you stop to think that it was the same Bobby Darin who scored hits with Splish Splash, Dream Lover and If I Were a Carpenter (sounding like a totally different guys on all of them) I'm left stunned at the scope of this man's talent. He was that rare 1950's artist who was actually a song writer too -- AND -- he was nominated for an Oscar for his acting skills. Sheesh!!

  • Its a shame that he left the world so early in his prime.. He was one of the good guys..

  • Look at the crap we have in Vegas now- what happened when we lost all the great entertainers

  • I grew up on Bobby Darin.

The song that caught my attention was "Splish Splash!" I was in the 3rd grade. "Splish Splash" was my sho'nuf' jam.

  • Just an education in performance to see what he does with the song - where he takes it in under 2 minutes flat.

  • Bobby Darin received the GRAMMY LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD TONIGHT! His son Dodd Darin gave a beautiful speech on his behalf in yesterday's ceremony. It's on You Tube under " Bobby Darin Lifetime Award". Bobby was a versatile, multitalented genius!

  • Does a kind of Elvis 'directing the band to stop' at the end.

  • Yeah, only ten years before Elvis.

  • @liverpoolishgirl Actually Bobby Darin died in 1973. Elvis in 1977

  • @waltandrus MEANING THAT BD DID IT TEN YEARS BEFORE ELVIS DID, NOT THAT HE DIED BEFORE... THAT HE DID THAT 'DIRECTING THE BAND TO STOP' AT THE END... IN RESPONSE TO THE PREVIOUS POST.

  • this is definitelly my life theme song forever!! LOVE LOVE LOVE this song!! He sings it with such personallity :)

  • What a great song and singer ! This is great !

  • Bobby Darin will get the GRAMMY LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD Jan 30, 2010! Fantastic!

  • Bobby doesn't just sing and play music... he IS the music. I mean, seriously, if you watch this video alone it's proof that there isn't a single performer in the entire world like him... not Elvis, not Sinatra. Nobody!

  • an you procure Bobby Darins version of " I remember April " . What a talent ! He could do it all;sing, dance, play most instruments. He was Mr. Showman. second only to Sammy Davis Jr. Been a fan 50+ years. Hope you can post it. Mel

  • Mel - Bobby was second to none. I always thought Sammy was the best until I saw Bobby perform.

  • i never usually like this genre of music but man does this Darin guy rock

  • He must have been a beautiful baby.

  • In my view this was Bobby at his very best. Spell-binding performance!!!

  • don't touch Elvis, but Bobby IS still wonderful and amazing,my man

  • As usual Bobby Darin is SMOKIN! This man had more sex appeal than Elvis and Sinatra put together. More rhythm, versatility, he had it all.

  • This performance IS beyond fantastic. This performance lives forever.

  • Has Frank Sinatra ever delivered a song with this much potency???

What about Tony Bennett? This is beyond fantastic!

    Unbelieveable!

  • Search "Sinatra so young"

  • Wow.. Micheal Buble is freaking bobby darin ripoff..

    Bobby Darin forever! !

  • How many singers today do you think could keep up with a live orchestra like this and even know where they were in the song? NONE, that's how many!

  • He was a person who brought so much life and spirit to every song he sang. Such a tragedy we lost him so early. I still miss him.

  • awsome!

    Bobby was so cool!

  • was? he is :P

  • lol...not really..the guy's been dead for like over 30 years!

  • lmao, you didnot get my point,i mean that inspite of he died, and we wont see him again everagain,he is stil one of the coolest guys:P memory about him will never die

  • i did get your point but too well my friend and your right his legendary status will live on forever as other famous people like him...what i meant was"you cant say"is" about someone who has died...only"was"

hope you understand now and take care!

  • well,i gues problem is in that im Russian,and i think on russian language,so-on russian i can,rofl ;p!

  • I love it

  • What a mover!

  • i love Bobby Darin!

  • God I love Bobby Darin. He never ceases to amaze me, and this is one performance which will be remembered beyond his lifetime!

  • This is a PHENOMENAL performance!!!

  • If only he could have graced the world with thirty more years of great music....

  • ABSOLUTE MAGIC!!!!!!

  • Thanks for the video its great

  • Bobby Darin is awesome, It doesn't matter what age you are. I loved "beyond the sea" not going to lie it's probably the best "musical" (movie about a musician) I've ever seen

  • I love you Bobby.

  • Awesome! He had such a voice. Such a great performer. Kevin Spacey did a great job portraying him. I'm a big fan of both. Thanks for posting.

  • man, im glad your mom hasn't told you im your real dad.

  • layzer80-----what a sick comment to make about an amazing singer who is no longer with us. Unlike yourself, he had class, lots of it which is why he will be more successful in 37 years than you would be in 100. Why don't you spend your time doing something constructive for this world instead of making sick jokes about a wonderful talented man and humanitarian. You're not worthy to shine the man's shoes.

  • that's why i like this music. it is not something for any ear, it's not for everyone!

  • I am soo into Bobby's music, I have had 18 of his songs recreated in a studio (England) so I can sing (amateur)some of his great hits. Songs like "Moon River", "That's All", "This Could Be The Start Of Something Big", "Don't Dream Of Anybody But Me".

Find and listen to his "Live" performance of "The Curtain Falls". When I first heard it, I was overwhelmed. His music just takes hold of you.

Bobby was the best! He gave his all to his audience and performed with all his heart!!!

  • SMOKING HOT*****God I love his performance. Bobby really felt the music & the rhythm. His singing & dancing are true transcendental experience.

I have the song on CD and I play it FULL BLAST in the car. It makes me feel good to be alive. You can see that is how Bobby felt here! FANTASTIC!!!

  • Sexy, yes! Agreed! Sandra Dee was a like cotton candy and it's just a sad story.

  • WOW! I have a lot of Bobby's CDs but never, ever tire of him. Thanks!

  • The master at work. What a helluva man!

  • Amazing video

  • Great vid!!!

  • Beautiful face. Sweet man.

  • His horn section is onfire on this tune! I want to play trumpet like that behind Bobby. Fantastic lyrics to a great song, how does this not put someone in a great mood?

  • Even when Bobby had his off days, he was still superb. He hated to cheat his adudience, and would sometimes admit to his being tired onstage, and apologize for it. He would then head to the oxygen tank backstage, to regain his strength. People often badmouthed him for not doing 1 or 2 encores, but the fact was, he could not physically do so, after about '63 or '64. One of his first Copa performances, though great, was rushed, if you take a hard listen. He's still the best of all time.

  • Hey kenwood3865, thank you very much for the enlightenment! I learn a lot from all of the insights you provide us all with, guys!

    Many thanks again!

    Greetings from Mexico!

  • He did it all in his short lived life. Great post. Thanks.

  • I LOVE YOU BOBBY! He's soo sexy!

  • Yeah! Finally somebody who thinks like I do.

  • Bobby is a sexy man!

  • I love Bobby Darin. He's soo dreamy.... I have a big crush on him....

  • Yeah. FOX.

  • The best ever. Its a shame that Sinatra and Darin didnt do something together. Darin got along well with Sammy and Dino, i dont see why they didnt work together.

  • My angel. So pretty, so sexy, so sweet.

  • If anyone has ever done great things in the entertainment industry it was Bobby Darin, what a wonderful, gifted, talented man he was. Thanks for posting

  • I loved this man and his singing as did my late husband. What a shame he had to be taken from us at such an early age.

  • Why was Radiofstars marked as spam?

  • What a Classy Man. This performance of Bobby

Darin doing "Once in a Lifetime" is absolute

dynamite. The singing, dancing, clicking of

the fingers makes it sound so very exciting and inviting. What a man, he's master of his

craft. In my books he's hard to touch. I can see why Sammy Davis Jr. said that Mr. Darin

was the one act he'd hate to follow. And as

everyone knows Sammy Davis Jr. was a great

performer. Well that's how good Bobby Darin

was. HE'S EXCELLENT!!! No doubt about it.

  • AWESOME! I think that Serpico56 and Freedom509rwk spoke for all of us. Bobby was fabulous. He certainly crammed a lot of living into 37 years, but it's still a damn shame he had to die so young.

  • words cannot do this performance justice

  • Swingin!! Yeah!! Thanks.

  • This has got to be the best performance by Bobby Darin.

    Ever.

  • Yeah!!

  • Great !!!

  • Brilliant performer...i love Bobby Darrin!

  • Simply AWESOME! thanks for posting...new BD fan

  • A giant, talent personified, the Master. He was one of a kind, the like of which was never to be seen again. His presence is as vivid now as it was 40 years ago, which itself is a tribute to him. He defined the late 50s early 60s for me. He will always be missed.

  • woobiedarla****perfect expression of Bobby Darin & yes, sooooo dearly missed....could you imagine how much more joy he would of gave to the world, if he had lived longer--"the good die young" and in BD`s case--it`s a dam shame****Darin Forever****dh

  • I love him

  • SMASHING!!!! He snaps his fingers better than most people play the drums..... WHAT A DOLL

  • Bobby Darin DID DO great things!! What a blessing he was!

  • awesome, just absoulutely awaesome!!!!!

  • WHat documetnary is this from?

  • Bobby Darin: Beyond the Song - the same DVD has the "Rainin'" clip. Great, huh?

  • rather fantastic actually

  • The master, indeed. I am sooooo going to buy that DVD.

  • Tremendous!
