Do you know if it is still put on by the students from Gordon College in Wenham? I know it was run by them for a very long time. This is a great way to have a history lesson! Go if you get the chance!!! Salem at the mall!

In Salem MA, waaay back in the day there were a bunch of people accused of being witches, by school kids. They were found guilty and hanged. It called the Salem Witch Trials. On Halloween They do these plays at I think its the old city hall or the witch museum or something. Where it's basically a trial. (I think thats it. I havent seen it since like 6th grade)

These are modified re-enactments of an arraignment (or hearing). The public, 21st century visitors, are invited to determine if the trial will go forward. First, they are encouraged to imagine they are hearing this as if they were living several centuries ago.
I went in 200 and one of the guys dragging the "witch" grabben my video camera and accused me of capturing his sould, then a little kid (tourist) yelled "She's a witch!" It was sooo funny!

this is the most awesome thing that is done in Salem, i've seen this 4x and am upset that when i go again this weekend it wont be happening :( this is definately a must see for anyone.
careful of some of those kids who hang out downtown, they are obnoxious. I would know, I'm friends with them haha

I think that some peolple can really be carried away in this. It can be a great "study example", so to speak.
