Buying a home in San Antonio - What to look for in a Realtor

I've never seen the need for a buyers agent in todays Internet based world. The best reason that a Realtor has come up with is that it doesn't cost anything. As far as representation goes, I represent my own best interests and am careful about what I tell a Realtor.

@jvolstad Educating people about the steps involved, helping them evaluate if it is even the right situation for them to purchase, providing them updated information to help them with their decisions and being there with them throughout the entire process are just some of the advantages that Realtors can provide.

@jvolstad I can understand your view and I think saying that best reason is that it doesn’t cost anything is overlooking the best advantages to having a Realtor by your side when buying a home. Purchasing a home is going to be different for each city, state and situation and having a professional by your side can make it much more enjoyable and smoother as well as save you money.
