  • claymore! i love you paul

  • World of Warcraft ftw

  • Wow that little intel has a higher WEI than my desktop, stupid prebuilt piece of shit!

  • 9:24 what is running on the left is BS

  • I use my phone as remote control option

  • @rvasquez6089 that's nice :)

  • This is what I don't get about the memory WEI scores in both builds, they are low. These are DDR3 Ram in dual channel mode. It should score at least a 7. I suspect the timings aren't configured right or they are low frequency RAM.

  • @conyo985 it is because it is 1333. There are different speeds of memory that get more and more expensive. 1333 is on the cheaper side but works fine for a build like this. There are memory sets that are over $200 for the best of the best.

  • @44billbob I have 2 kingston value rams ddr3 1333Mhz and it scores 7.2 in WEI in stock settings. I really suspect there is something wrong in the BIOS configuration.

  • Paul just raised up his points! Claymore is a bad ass anime!

  • why r u advertising for windows with that wallpaper, change it to newegg man

  • Paul you look so official with your clipboard. :P

  • Props for using Space Battleship Yamato.

    Loved that movie.

  • but will it blend?

  • Lol saw claymore, was like "Haha is that claymore?" then he confirms it and all I have to say is Paul is awesome cause he probably picked it out xD

  • New egg is boss!

  • <3

  • PAAUULL! <3333

  • Yay for Claymore

  • I currently have the build list saved in my wish list for a future purchas however if I could win the AMD build I could spend that money on other componets from new egg. I am glad to be able to view these videos they have been most helpful. Thanks again.

  • Can it power up Darth Vader VENTILLATION in his mask?

  • I have a large tower and a small house, one of these would make a nice replacement.

  • I have a Samsung Series 5 42" tv. Will these handle that resolution okay and not zoom in on it like my Windows XP? I use it for photo editing and that is a real problem when I don't get the quality as my regular 22" monitor.

  • just for the sweepstakes

  • What's the name of the last remote? I can't find it anywhere on your site, but I'm probably spelling it wrong. It sounds like you said "Syvico," but this gives no results.

  • Yeh..I would definetly go with the Intel.

Although the AMD does have DX11.

Then again..I would probably put A dedicated gfx card in it anyways.

  • @mintycbo in htpc power useage is important too

  • I love me some Claymore.

  • is the smart response more beneficial rather than installing the OS directly onto the SSD and using the mechanical drive for storage?

  • If I was to get this I would use it to the fullest.

  • Man I'd love one of these!

  • Awesome!!

  • Thank god, I was looking for a cheap htpc for my mother, great vid.

  • Awesome!

  • The future of home entertainment!

  • Epic!

  • love it

  • But will it play Crysis?

  • FTW!

  • FTW!

  • Paul, very generous from you guys at Newegg! Good luck to everyone!!!

  • Great company make great video. Thx you~

  • Nice!

  • Nice!

  • Comment removed

  • i pretty much just commented to win after i click post this video will not exsist on my computer

  • Looks Great!

  • I'll take either setup. :)

  • I hope I win one :D

  • Ahhh Part two!

  • Dear Paul in the AMD build is it possible to mount a desktop 250GB hard drive and a notebook 250GB hard drive?

  • Paul, Can I have the Intel Build one?

  • Where do you get that media center remote/sensor?

  • can these Bitstream DOLBY TRUE-HD & DTS-HD MASTER audio?

  • They both did great & great to movies!!!!!!!

  • Thank-you Paul. This video series was very helpful for me to determine what to purchase.

  • Is there any good app that i can use as to share and stream files from one PC to the hole network at the same time? (PC, PS3 and android)

  • Love these videos on building computers...Keep making them please. Also, would like to have one of the ones built. :p

  • Wait, don't you want the OS installed on the SSD and the cache (page file) stored on the HDD? I thought you didn't want to "write" often to an SSD? Is this only available on the Z68 chipset?

  • @Jayjr1105 You can install the os on an ssd on any chipset. Its just if you want intel srt you go with the z68

  • CLAYMORE!!!!!! yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • wtf, you guys in USA still use cable TV? Isn't that kinda.. outdated? Even 2nd/3rd world countries moved to IPTV already :/

  • vlc is so 2008

  • Audio.. quality is horrible.. WHY??

  • why dont you test the AMD APU A8 3850

  • how about sound?

  • why not do an AMD test on the present A series APU instead of the old E350?

  • @annonske cause E-350 is fully suitable for HTPC usage, it's way cheaper and draws way less power. HTPC doesn't needs powerful CPU.

  • please do a benchmark of A8 3850

  • Not to be smart... but the subs of Yamato tells me all I need to know ;P

  • cool!!!!!!!!!!

  • To take full advantage of SRT, does the caching SSD have to be only formatted for Windows, or can it also be my boot drive?

  • da dun CHHHHH!

  • Awesome video as always. Much Mahalos.

  • Woho clay more

  • Great two-parter.

Question: How would I go about hooking up a cable box (Or coax cable) directly to the htpc? Would love to be able to watch live television as well as all the streaming features.

  • @Wesanthony91 Most PCI-E TV Tuner cards will allow you to plug in to your coax and get your basic cable channels, but for a serious cable box replacement you'll want a Ceton InfiniTV 4 Quad-tuner Card (though they are admittedly quite expensive).

  • @newegg Great, thanks for the response! I think it's worth the ~$250 for that feature, I'll give it a shot in my build!

  • Those computers absolutely rock

  • Wow, people even manage to complain about the video he used. I am not sure I would have the inner strength to not flip out if I made youtube videos.

  • Paul Fears Linus!!!!!!!!!!!

  • also 11.8 ati/amd driver solve some issue with the sht of cyberlink sw n other sw.

  • u hide to much for intel. also u dnt talk about how u install driver n version also u dnt use the same hard drive system, same memory, same psu n case. because u use "smart cache by intel" it shw "more".

  • IS windows media player accelerating videos using the gpu? Just like VLC does? Answer plox i'll use it in my htpc :/

  • looks good Paul.

  • Claymore, really? Of all the anime bluray you could have chosen, you went with Claymore?

  • Video Description:

    - Credits -

    Camera: Danny

    Editing: Kyle

    Talking & Building & Part-Picking: Paul

    Assistant Benchmarker: Kyle

    Knows Kung Fu: Mr. Lam

  • @FROZT12345 WTF LOL :)

  • Paul likes Claymore!? Heck yes!

  • I really want to put together the fusion build, but I don't need an htpc. I use my PS3 to stream stuff stored locally on my network.

  • AMD FTW! :D

  • NEEDS MORE HOT ASIAN GIRL

  • LOL i already built 2 HTPC, 3 Gaming PC yet

I still like watching these! xD

  • I'd love to see a "How to overclock" video.

  • @xxHELLBLAZEXX Look around youtube... there are thousands of them.

  • very nice video

  • Gaming = 3Dmark? lol

  • @Hokrollo1 yes? it's not like there's a point to test crysis 2 or something.

  • love these "how to build" videos.

  • Claymore <3

    Anime <3

    Paul <3

  • Paul, correct me if im wrong, but you seemed a little distracted / uninterested in this vid.

  • Intel 4 Ever

  • I wonder why people keep installing Windows on HTPC like these. A Linux distro like Ubuntu or OpenSUSE would run smoother and ensure to the HTPC a longer operational life. Also it makes you save some money that you could invest in hardware, like a dedicated graphic card or an SSD.

  • @cid994 Because Linux is only free if your time is worthless.

  • @mario11168 That's not true: if you can install Windows you can easily install a lot of different Linux distro. Also for some distro, like Ubuntu or Linux Mint, you don't have to bother to much about hardware drivers, because of excellent repository and hardware recognition. And Linux can run pretty well even on much low-powered PC.

  • @cid994 Oh I know it's good, but it goes like this.

    Linux = coding

    Windows = everything else

  • @mario11168 In fact, you have to use Windows only if you are a gamer or someone who have to use specific software like Photoshop After Effects. For everyone else, a PC running Linux is enough for everyday use: you know, surfing the internet, watching videos and stuff like that.

  • @cid994 Photoshop After Effects?

  • @TheAuroraTechShow Sorry, my fault. It was intended to be "Photoshop or After Effects".

  • @cid994 Don't forget all the free software you could want...

  • @cid994 I plan on building a Linux SFF PC, maybe you can answer some questions I have:

    1. Is Linux compatible with any component and any brand? (motherboards, CPUs, hard drives, etc)

    2. Which program would be the best for playing media and blu ray discs?

    Thanks.

  • @Aristowi Linux is great and you can build a super-inexpensive system for this purpose, just bear in mind that Blu-ray support and Netflix support is really not there at the moment. Netflix will hopefully come around with HTML5, and Blu-ray workarounds are possible, but for most folks who want to pop in a disc and play a movie it's not gonna happen with Linux for the time being.

  • @Aristowi 1. No. Before buying the hardware check out if it's compatible and how to install it.

    2. VLC for DVD and other media: if you want to watch a Blu-Ray I would rip it using MakeMKV.

  • @cid994 and if you use Netflix Linux will not cut it, I've tried, it's cause Microsoft will not update Moonlight fast enough to keep up with the windows version Silverlight.

  • @clays121 @cid994 but there are some 'hacks' you can use to play them, only thing is, is you won't get any support help for it.

  • @cid994 Well, you don't have to depending on the application... *some* games and programs work on linux using Wine, won't run as good as on windows, but they can run.

  • @cid994 Fail. It's complete mess getting GPU video decoding to work on Linux, especially with AMD GPU's (with nvidia it's as simple as "pacman -S nvidia nvidia-utils mplayer" in xterm).

  • @mario11168 linux still does really good at media and other stuff. and coming along with getting windows applications to run on it.

  • @farmkid55 They already did, well the just built a computer in general but the process is the same just with higher performing parts. Also GOOGLE is your friend.

  • @bamfan2044 *chuckles I already know how to build a computer I have built quite a few too(not sure on a count but I know more than 50). but if there is an interest I will do a series on how to build one and giveaway some of the parts.

  • @farmkid55 If you do I need a PSU and graphics card lol.

  • third 3
