Its actually Deus Ex theme + KVision/Nighvision + Organic. Ohh, feels like 3 most pleasurable drugs were taken together and injected right into yours cerebrospinal fluid.
It's actually Nightvision from the original Unreal, Alex Brandon and some of the other Deus Ex composeres were behind the Unreal OST, as well as the UT OST.
I assume that each of them having a similarly sounding track isn't a coincidence.
@aidan456456 Still, that said I think they did a good job of recreating the original Deus Ex feel. It wasn't entirely there, but it was there and it still required me to actually think every now and again.
@aidan456456 The bosses weren't entirely Eidos's fault, they made the mistake of hiring a different company to make them, plus the director for the original Deus Ex didn't even have anything to do with Human Revolution. Seeing as how that's the case, I'd say they did a pretty damn good job of making it feel like an actual Deus Ex game. It's not the original, no, but it was damn good nonetheless.
But I agree, I would love an actual sequel to this game.
What the fuck, this song sounds like it belongs in a totally different game, like Alexander Brandon had Jazz Jackrabbit 2 flashbacks while composing it.
I'm looking for a song in this game, I can't go through all the videos cause even in 240p i'm loading about 5 secs a minutes (crappy 3g)
But it's for me a song as important as the main theme, relly well composed, it my occur to appear in some action scene and it goes "ta, ta ta . ta ta, ta ta . . ta ta . ta . ta . ta ta . ta ta . ta ta ta , ta ta, tata, tata ta ta, ta ta ta ta"
Man if only games had this much effort put into lengthy and indepth singleplayer campaigns with amazing stories instead of putting all the effort into fucking multiplayer. Take a look at shit like Homefront....pffft the single player campaign can be beat in 4 hours...what a fucking disgrace compared to this.
Deus Ex's multiplayer is just an minor addition for this game and its still awesome
@LokiYD The music just adds so much to a game. It helps the overall feel, the aesthetics of the game, past what shinier graphics could hope to do. Frank Klepacki is another great composer and without him, Tiberium Wars just wasn't nearly as good as it could have been. Less focus on shiny graphics and a big multiplayer, more engaging, atmospheric games with a captivating audiovisual style and adaptive gameplay. I bet you that PC game sales would go through the roof.
Agreed, also over music is dialogue. Understandably they wanted to make a new or "fragile" character for Deus Ex: IW, however even in a test tube or in my bedroom for 20 years, I could have better or less redundant dialogue throughout the game. In conclusion the long conversation with JC/Helios is the best imo, lol
@LokiYD The entire dialogue system is just wonderfully done. And the emails littered about the world that hint at the plot. You don't have to read them, but you can start putting pieces together if you read everything. It's a wonderful occasion of developer and writers working together instead of the writer making a great, interesting storyline that forces itself on the player. IW suffered from console restrictions and tiny levels. Here's hoping for open, varied levels in HR.
@l0rf Invisible War, whilst mildly entertaining, was such a fall from the original. Deus Ex has not been matched by any other game in terms of depth of gameplay, emotion or storyline in my opinion. I have a good feeling about Human Revolution though, maybe, just maybe, through Deus Ex 3, Deux Ex can be born again.
@Halasir I can just fully agree. This is quite frankly the best game I could name at the top of my head, followed by Fallout 1/2, C&C Firestorm and Half-Life 2. It's just amazing how deep they went into the whole thing, writing books, thinking of ways to solve levels in different ways, composing this wonderful score...Yeah, Human Revolution better be a damn revolution after they already had it set back...
@cosmicgirl99922 Those Recut jokes aren`t funny anymore. It's stupid, annoying and it's intensifying to the point where we might not be able to contain it..
@adil11223344 Not only that, it seems to have all of Alexander Brandon mixed in it!
Apparently, this was in fact an ending of an age for Brandon: If there was an album containing all the works released by Straylight Productions, whether or not you know who they are, this was probably one of the last songs in it.
You see, when this game was released, brandon was working for nearly 10 years with his own music production company, the above mentioned Straylight.
@adil11223344 This was that unfortunate time that it began to disband. And so, co-founder Alexander "Siren" Brandon probably felt that he could do with a sort of a goodbye to something that was pretty important for him.
@aidan456456 I think that it probably played in the quote screen at the end of each ending cinematic. If you waited a bit after the quote appeared, I think "Conspiravision" will start playing.
I just finish playing this game but I don't recall where this song plays and it felt good finishing with all three endings but I prefer Helios and Illuminati end though!
@Nolus20 I believe it was used as BGM for the Quotes.
You can access the quotes by using the "Behind the Curtain" menu. If you don't know how to access it, open Deus Ex, enable cheats, and use the cheat "legend." The option will be there.
Deus Ex is one of those games you will have sitting in a corner somewhere, and when you get reminded of it, you take this epic of a game and reinstall it over and over again.
Giant pool? I think I remember that map, where you start atop a massive structure then you jump off where theres grass and a massive body of water 300 feet below :D
@DSCraze Yeah and if you make your jumps correctly you can end up in secret armories where you got weapons and stuff. and at the bottom, you had to stack lams to get up to a hole in the wall. loved that map.
Aww damn i really miss this game. I think this music was also on fl_unlimitedparty3 or something? Gah, to bad this game doesn't have as many players on as it should.
Anyone remember GODZ server? Please reply if you have, maby GODZ tunnel summer of '05? Haha, great times too bad online play is nearing death, its on its last breath with nearly 5-15 people signing on daily.
Well, if you think about the game engine, it's basically a heavy, clunky modification of the unreal engine. Graphics-wise, the game looked pretty bad to begin with: horrible animations, low-res textures, no lip-sync, and sometimes terrible art style (like the weapons, for example).
Gameplay-wise, Deus Ex is full of questionable or unbalanced elements, making some of the skills simply better than the others (like hacking).
The augmentations are sometimes pretty messed up. Silent Walk is doesn't have any use whatsoever, considering Speed Enhancement makes you crawl faster. And I'd like to see someone not picking the Regeneration aug, which makes the game far too easy.
The skill system is pretty weird too. With certain dialogue choices, you can gain XP that you use to become better with your pistol. That doesn't make any sense. Why don't you simply become better in what you actually do?
The world is full of useless items. For example, why do alcohol and cigarettes even exist as items if they have no gameplay value? Alcohol makes it harder to see, while cigarettes can get you killed. I can come up with plenty of ways to make these items affect the gameplay positively.
The AI in the game is terrible. It's possible to trigger an infinite amount of plot paradoxes by attacking a friendly plot-related NPC, then leading him to another friendly NPC, who will then fight for you.
Again, I never bashed the game. Like I said, it has so much good in it, you don't even notice the small mistakes. I'd go as far as to say it's the best first person game I've ever played. However, that doesn't mean it's a perfect game. Don't be a fanboy, open your eyes for once.
@CountAbel I'll start from the end. Useless items? To make in-game world look realistic. AI? Consider the year when the game was made. Besides, about thingy with friendly NPC - you can't affect the plot, if it isn't planned in code. Augmentations? Well, that's true. But, on your first playthrough, would you know what to choose? And remember - some augs are hard to get. XP issues and graphic engine? Consider the year once again. Graphics were a lot ahead of the time. Any problems now?
I don't think realism means having a lot of useless items you can pick up. And if it does, I'd rather play unrealistic games.
About the AI, we're obviously not talking about the same things. And the AI was bashed the moment the game was released, so I don't think the game's age has anything to do with it.
Your argument about the augmentations makes no sense. I just said some of them are useless. That's bad game design.
Graphics were NOT ahead of their time. How did you even come up with that?
@bushwhacker2k Although I love Deus Ex to death, there is just one thing that bothers me: it feels like Half-Life, outdated and possibly alien to those accustomed to today's games. A community-distributed .cfg or similar file is in order, I think.
@bushwhacker2k So true, no other game I've played captivates emotion as much as this one does. Which is a shame because this game provides an ideal template which other games could tangent from. Let's hope that game 3 will be faithful to the original :).
@bushwhacker2k It was an epic game. I remember its AI was pretty dumb though. You could shoot a guard in the back and they wouldnt react or they couldnt see more than 100 ft.
Moreover the first seconds (acidplay) are from the UT soundtrack (from Organic if i recall it right - however it was never used on any level of the offical game, it can be found only in the music directory).
I'm a huge fan of Deus Ex , this game is merely a part of my life , thus , I give you my adress in case you'd like to talk with me about the greatest game ever made .. I'm often connected and my love for this game is beyond belief .. Please notice me and tell me where you're from if you add me . Thanks .
The guys who compsed this music also made music for the Unreal series. Good job on finding the rare OST's! I appreciate the post because it lets people know that there actually were sundtracks that came from video games and they are available music CD's.

This sounds SO MUCH like Jazz Jackrabbit 2!

Same artist! :)

@jumpmaster98 I was thinking the same thing. A lot of the Deus Ex club music sounds like Jazz Jack Rabbit stuff.

@cloak211 It's written and created by the same composer, Alexander Brandon.

This reminds me of Alexander Brandon's track Nighvision from Unreal. Then again, it's made by the same guy, so that was probably intended.

It also ends with the word vision, a coincidence?
bushwhacker2k 2 years ago
No... A CONSPIRACY

Where exactly do you find this theme in the game?
L0lk1ng 3 years ago 2
In the quotes screen.

I'm surprised nobody's noticed that this is a remix of "Nightvision" from Unreal. Hence the name.

Moreover the first seconds (acidplay) are from the UT soundtrack (from Organic if i recall it right - however it was never used on any level of the offical game, it can be found only in the music directory).

Sorry, i havent read throught yor comments... sorry aigan.
ds024775r7 3 years ago
Yes, it does sound similar to Organic. Perhaps Alex B wanted fans of his music to have an easter egg to find.
KurtonTheMagician 3 years ago
He has included a remix of this song even in Jack Jackrabbit 3 (which was never released). Search "Jack of Spades" from Youtube.

Whoa! This track kicks asses

I love the musician's work on both DX and Unreal Tournament. Compare the intro to this song and Organic from UT99, hehe: watch?v=M9WCOpP1dVw

It sounds like a combination of several Unreal and Unreal Tournament tracks including Organic and k_vision.

I think this might be one of the bonus tracks that weren't in the game.

Thanks for putting this up here. My memory fails me, though - in which part of the game can this be heard?

The guys who compsed this music also made music for the Unreal series. Good job on finding the rare OST's! I appreciate the post because it lets people know that there actually were sundtracks that came from video games and they are available music CD's.
