  • THIS - IS - SO -WONDERFUL! Thank you for sharing!!

  • i got a bit teary-eyed....my favorite Bjork song of all time. all of you young musicians (and the teachers!) make me so happy. thank you.

  • so so good!

  • This is my absolute favorite Bjork song. So few people get her artistry. This moved me so much. Thank you so much for sharing her music with these children. How wonderful they are, and how lucky they are to have a great teacher like you in their lives.

  • I am Ever-Constantly impressed by the voices of these bright, moving little-adults.

  • Dude...chills. That was awesome!

  • Really nice and cute version !

  • magnificent and touching. has björk in person seen this? what were her thoughts?

  • :_)

  • No way! That was their 1st rehearsal?!? They must really LOVE that song. Did you play Bjorks's version for them before hand? They seem to connect with this the most. Bjork would be blown away by this lovely rendition. Would love to hear the tweaked-up fine-tuned version. Very impressive. :)

  • wow...you are the dopest teacher!

  • That's my favorite Bjork song, and the kids sang it beautifully. I can't get over how emotionally connected they get to singing these. Wow.

  • This is no doubt one of the most beautiful things I've heard/seen and it's even greater because you can feel their feelings. It's amazing, congratulations and keeping making this grateful job.

Björk should listen to it, she would be really happy.

    Congratulations

    Janaina

    From Brasil

  • this one is my fave! Bjork! yes! you must be a good teacher, clearly the kids are emotionally engaged!

are you planning to do some kind of Michael Jackson tribute? it feels like a crossroads of destiny that you are working with these kids that touch so many at this particular time. i imagine that one of the more emotionally charged ballads like "Ben", "Got To Be There" or "Human Nature" would be magical. i'm sure u get lotsa requests, sorry!! Its just what so many are feeling now.

    great work!

  • an MJ tribute is up. and it is ben. :)

  • YAAAAY!! :)

i watched it, beautiful, short and sweet, and it seemed really important to the soloist. I'm glad that the kids could be a part of this healing process that a lot of us are going through. excellent work.

will we get to hear a full length "Ben" soon? was the clip a work in progress?

    Thanks again!!

  • Amazing! They are so talented and I love to see them really feeling the song. Wonderful job! I got goosebumps listening to them, Bjork would love this!!

  • You can tell the kids were getting into the music and how they were singing it. Thanks!

  • Amazing! I'm sure Björk was proud when she saw this!

  • Sorry didn't relise you guys where so famious clicked on ya links by accident but very glad I did, keep up the good work Mr B

  • WOW!

Now sorry but opinion in Europe is that Americans are very self rightness - to hear a bunch of kids sing a song by Bjork from Icland is priceless and reconfirms my faith in you US people - for may we forever be friends, Blessings

Talking from someone in the UK =)

  • Gregg, this is amazing. I absolutely adore Björk. Her voice and very complex song/vocal structures (and sound of course) make it very hard to even get close to the original.

    My congratulations!

And something else: did you tell the kids what the meaning is behind the words? It's a very emotional and introvert song. Please tell me.

    Regards,

    David (The Netherlands)

  • thank you david. we always discuss lyrical content, and this song is no exception. however i doubt the song means to them what it does to bjork, but that's ok, right? ;)

  • I can't help but be moved by hearing this incredibly talented children sing songs from one the greatest artists of our time, Bjork. I'd love to see her reaction, hearing these kids adding even more beauty to her music...

  • I heard this for the first time yesterday, and I can't stop listening to it. It's just so amazing and beautiful.... By far the best cover by the PS 22 chorus.

  • If children had this kind of activities... I'm pretty sure the world would be a better place one of these days.

  • This is so beautiful!

the original song is also among my favourite Bjork tracks.

Be aware that you just planted on these kids the seeds of GOOD MUSIC TASTE!!! now they'll probably grow into liking not only Bjork, but other cool stuff from Bowie to the Beatles, from Led Zeppelin to Depeche Mode and maybe escape from the dictatorship of crap mainstream music from nowadays.

  • ké bonito xddddd!!!! estoy llorando a lagrimita vivaaaa!!!!!

    Ké grandeeees los pekeñines!!!!

  • this is gorgeous, and i don't even like bjork

  • wonderful, really

  • i just love watching how emotionally connected they are when they sing. amazing. keep it up.

  • I take the other tack: I love the music, but can't understand the "head-wagging". It's distracting.

I don't think they're connecting to the music any more deeply--it's just bad training by the chorus director guy, lol.

Also, try to take one of these kids and put them in another chorus group, they'd be told to tone it down, lol.

    I'm a Bjork fan, so I like the cover...conflicted...

  • Your bizarre negativity is distracting me from being able to enjoy this beautiful song. Seriously, who pissed in your cornflakes?

  • Loopyridesagain, some people take the music deep in their soul. Whatever religion, if any, you are - have you ever been to a pentecostal church? Have you been to a heavy metal Lamb of God concert? Witnessed Sweet Honey on the Rock sing and looked out over the audience? Enjoyed Los Lobos in concert? You should see what happens when music really means something. The fact that these children FEEL THE MUSIC so deeply (and sound beautiful) is what's so exquisite about this choir AND it's mentor.

  • as stated before, most bjork covers are terrible. this is fantastic. amazing job.

  • no matter how many times i look @ this I still get goosebumps.

  • Esto es Hermoso! Felicidades.

  • Espectacular. Se me pone la carne de gallina.. Muy muy buen trabajo. Touched deep inside. Precious job.. Thanks.

  • this made me cry, very beautiful

  • I've heard tons of Björk covers, and believe me that most of them just make the songs awful, BUT THIS IS AMAZING... i mean the kids are just amazing, and the chorus voices as they multiply make the song more intimate... and intense! I'm sure BJÖRK WOULD LOVE TO HEAR THIS VERSION

  • Wow. That was touching. Got the chills. Wow again. That was precious.

  • This is...one of the most surreal and beautiful things i've heard/seen in a while. I concur with Rainbow... <3

  • Oh man this is just too good!

    Love Bjork

  • beautiful rendition absolutely loved it, im sure Bjork would have too =)

  • I am a huge Bjork fan, and this excitement I haven't experienced for a long time! <3

  • Wow that's chilling. I love that song and these kids are really just fantastic. The emotion in their voices is incredible

  • I firmly believe the world would be a much better place if more students were taught a passion for and understanding of music like this. Bravo, and thank you!

  • Great job

  • Se me ponen los pelos de punta!!

  • Un comentario re argentino! jajja

    Yo pienso lo mismo!

    Un saludo

  • Wow......

Thanks

  • me encanto tu comentario...

    felicitaciones por tus hermosas palabras

  • I like this version better than the original one!

  • i'm cryng, thanks for this prcious moment! spain is with you!!!

  • Flipante... sin palabras

  • Congratulations from Carratraca ( Spain ) very good job.

  • los niños sienten la cancion...

    chapó al profe

  • eso mismo iba a comentar, los niños viven la cancion

  • I really wish I had this music education when I was in school, instead of singing old, meaningless songs (Mary had a little lamb? C'MON!) taught by teachers who didn't really like what they were doing.

I thank my parents for the fact that they passed on me their passion for music. I can't remember any moment at home where there wasn't any music (i.e. The Beatles, Vivaldi, Pink Floyd or Led Zeppelin) playing in the background.

These kids will be forever proud of having had you as a teacher.

  • Really great job, congrats from Spain.

  • i love this song . . . original and this version

  • what a great teacher and an amazing group of kids

  • I wish I had gone to your school!

  • Once again THANK YOU!

    Muchas gracias.

Un trabajo increible, me muero de envidia :)

    Gracias.

  • Fantástico, tremendo, i love you guys! Really a great job, congrats from Spain.

  • braaavoooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Es una lastima que la gran mayoria de los profesores no sientan su profesión.

Debe ser magnifico poder hacer crecer lo arboles rectos y firmes y mas tal y como esta la actual sociedad.

    Suelen crecer sin valores.

    Gran trabajo.

  • oh and ps... GREAT musical selections!!!

  • i am SO moved and touched by your commitment to these children and to music itself! with every performance i see, i see the dedication and love that has gone into it all and of the hope that is placed into each of these children. if only i would have had this growing up for myself... bless you and all that you do! i am in complete awe and just amazed! thank you for letting me see of the greatness that is still being done in the world today!

  • if it wasn't fdor you, they wouldn't even know who Bjork is.. fantastic work. THey are a pleasure to listen to. CD please..

  • es simplemente precioso!!!!

  • How with their age could express that feelings without fear of mockery ? Umbeliveable!!

  • Great teachers produces great persons.

  • my god........amazing job and a very unconventional song choice......more Bjork please! One of my favorite songs by her

  • one of my favorite songs ever.

thank you for having these children sing it.

whenever i listen to them sing, i cry, because it is great to know that teachers like you still exist.

i just graduated from high school, and i never once had a teacher half way as passionate as you are. you are truly a blessing to these children :)!

  • sooooo beautiful.. i mean really.. what lucky kids to have such an amazing teacher to let them experience music this way.. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!

  • perfect. you guys are adorable and what an amazing teacher you have. you are so lucky. :)

  • I have always loved this song. But now I love it even more. I have CHILLS! Thank you for this. Good luck to you and the kids. I'll be checking to see what you do next.

  • amazing!

  • unbelievable. thank you so much. i'm really moved. you've done a great service to the kids, to me, to the world and to music itself. kids that learn to sing this way can't go wrong and will keep the trasure in their hearts. thank you all!

  • beautiful and excellent!!, god bless their tender hearts and you for being such a great teacher!

  • I graduated from PS 22 in 1976! This is wonderful Mr. B, I wish there was a music teacher like you there when I attended. I was one of 3 black kids in the school then. I'm touched, proud and insprired by your students and you. Thank you for posting

  • mr b says, you have to let kids find their own inspiration in a song just the way we adults have to.... ;) and thanks!

  • Do you get into the meaning of the songs? A "state of emergency is where I want" to be is a pretty heavy thought. "Emotional landscapes"... us Bjork fans can barely get it. What say you Mr B?

I love this chorus, more soul that should be allowed in a auditorium.

  • I can't stop crying! This is my favorite Bjork song. This is incredible!! You and the kids are so amazing!! Keep up the great work!

  • Brilliant!!

  • So beautiful, brilliant idea!!

    Congratulations!

You must be an incredible teacher.

  • they do bjork too???? that rocks! bjork, tori..... alanis....?

  • i wonder if bjork has seen this... bjork?

  • Even the teacher is lovely!!

  • The emotion is incredible. again, amazing.

  • My wish comes true! Thanks Greg for getting them to do Björk!

  • do the smiths! william it was really nothing!

  • hahaha! You rock.. But my vote is for Please,Please,Please let me get what I want. or There is A Light.. Gosh can you imagine that

  • funny you should say that... i have considered "please please..." next school year for sure!

  • you definitely need to do "Please, Please".... one of my faves!!

  • I would do ANYTHING to hear these kids cover "Adam's Murmur" by Cynic.

    or "Asleep" by The Smiths.

    ANYTHING!!!

  • Those kids sounds great! Next time watch your levels when recording though, lots of clipping going on.

  • good thing they didn't do Alarm Call.

  • LOL!

  • This is art.

    Keep doing this.

  • They sound amazing. Truly gifted children.

  • oooohh!! I´ts beautiful

  • Gorgeous and fresh

  • amazing!!!

    :)

  • fantastic - really, really fantastic. Congrats to all.

  • This is so wonderful!

  • oh my god. This is sooooo precious. life is beautiful!

  • you are doing more than you even realize for these kids; leading and inspiring them to follow their talents, work together, be part of a team and not to mention exposing them to a wonderful range of music - from bjork to cold play etc. I'm truly blown away.

  • well this is just amazing! i love it, they are all so talented!

You may have already done it but have you considered doing 'All Is Full Of Love' ?there could be some great harmonies. Just a suggestion :)

  • I agree, they would sound just lovely singing "All Is Full of Love"

Those kids are lucky to have someone like you there for them, I admire you greatly.

  • OMG this is so so soso super! Im touched!

  • Which country are you guys from?

Congratulations on the work with the kids. You have to let me know how you engage them like that :-) The kids I have to work with seem to be everywhere but in the same room with me!

  • the country of new yawk. ;)

  • You're fantastic! From Brazil!

  • I have no words to describe.. absolutely amazing.

  • Fantastic!

    Cheers from Bogota, Colombia.

  • Hey MR. B, i wanted to ask, have you considered Bjorks Oceana?

It's a Great song for kids, especially to promote the innocent...ness... of young eyes who just see the world as the world. The version spliced with Kelis singing as the earth is a good one too, hunt them down. if you don't know it's basically the Speech the sea gives about looking up from the deapth and it's perception that we're all one. You're doing a great job man! i'm always checking out whats going on with you guys! keep it up

  • good suggestion! :) thanks!

  • Amazing! One of the best things I've seen on Youtube.

  • Dear Mr. Choir Instructor,

Thank you. This made my day, as a Bjork fan and as a fan of music in general. I love your rendition of a classic song. Perhaps Hope from Volta, next time? By far my favorite song.

  • Beautiful :)

  • Tears T.T WD.

What you do with these kids is incredible.

Thank you for all your hard work.

  • THIS IS SOO AWESOME!!! This totally works as a chorus! U are such a brilliant teacher!

  • fantastic

  • you are so great - chorus and teacher! love and hugs from Sofia, Bulgaria!

  • hey teacher, well done dude from scotland! nxt stop pj harvey since uv done tori already, seriously tho wish i had u as my teacher wen i was a kid xxxx

  • This is an incredible video.

  • amazing...congratulations from barcelona

  • what a treasure.

to see an impassioned teacher like yourself is brilliant- it is inspiring for myself as a teacher. (art) been a fan of Bjork for many moons and to see the wave of "emotional landscape" pass through the children as they sing is incredibly stirring. you are a great testiment to the public educational system & your students are so fortunate...thank you!!

    dandelion in the north

  • Amazing videos and amazing kids.

May I ask why they wear different colored shirts (like of the kids in one color and half in another) while performing not in the classroom?

  • Two differentiate the two sections -- altos and sopranos. :)

  • Better than the original

  • Gorgeous, but not better than the original,

That song is my No. 1 of all time.

  • oh i don't even want to get into comparing the genius that is bjork to these kids. they're doing something magical with the song. we don't need to choose sides. just enjoy both versions for what they are -- beautiful. :)

  • what an amazing tribute to her genius and her ability to inspire.

  • beautiful...

  • one of my favorite Björk songs...truely amazing

  • All these videos are great. You make me remember my own 5th grade chorus class. Way to go Teacher and students. This song is great, Eye of the tiger by these little guys gave me chills.

  • Wow what a great choir and choice of music :) brilliant!

  • ...you are giving these students a kind of spiritual gift...and they are giving it back. amazing.

  • few things in the world are this beautiful

    you all get an A+++++++

  • Each of them looks like they're singing alone in front of a mirror. I can't believe this exists. Thank you!

  • awesome

  • another stunning arrangment buy a stunning group! once again well done guys. -Rae

  • this is my fav song from bjork-

    its so inspiring--

    ur doing an amaizing job--

  • Absolutely amazing!!! If I had a teacher like this I never would have dropped out of 5th grade choir!

  • :O WoW!

  • i get goosebumps whenever i listen to these kids sing...esp when i look at their expressions...this is just amazing....god bless you all

  • escalofriooos

    u.u

  • Nice work with these kids man. Its amazing what kids can do when led by talented musicians who can teach.

  • It is very emotive seeing these children singing, and how they feel what is written in the lyrics.

Congratulations very, very much, for your work; but I think this is no a work for all of you.

Only music can make this things happen, and this things happen just because of the music.

    Please, please, please, MORE SONGS.

  • Wow, dude.

    How old are these kids?

I mean, I'm a freshmen in high school, and we are no where near this passionate, and on the first try!

And letting them do ACTUAL music instead of "built for choir SATB boring stuff" is a real treat.

    Congrats on having such talent!

  • Hermoso!!!!

  • Oops, I'm such dodo bird - you guys do have t-shirts, I've seen the children wearing them, lol....Is there any way to order a "fan shirt" for an adult?! You Know - That's incredible to play & at the same time - direct. And whose teaching these children about emotion etiquette?! I know all of that is not just 5th grade emotion! I APPLAUD YOU, all the inappropriate songs out there - at a young age they're learning about inspirational music with inspirational words for their inspirational souls!

  • touching and beautiful, everything i've seen from you. can i recommend a new song? Well, I will. Dust in the Wind, a Kansas song. Think about it would you? Again, you are AMAZING! I'm a senior music ed student, and sometimes it feels like everything i learn is about discipline and classroom management, i forget i'm a musician dealing with music and human emotion. keep inspiring!
