  • I just had my first green smoothie less than 10 minutes ago. It was banana, blueberries, and spinach. Ironic with the video, but it was what I had. I only used one banana but it was still masking the other flavors. Now I have MORE energy than I did with coffee.(coffee made me feel like crap anyways, I don't think my body could digest it well). But these things are amazing!!

  • I make smoothie every alternate day using VitaMix 5200 blender. my common recipe is Kale, spinach(frozen), banana, blueberry or strawberry, pears or peach, Kiwi, and three good size carrots, honey, whey powder 1tbsp, water. With kale I cut out the stem and blanch for 5 seconds on boiled water to cut down the raw smell and then dip in cold water and throw in the blender

    Bananas only have 95 calories.

    The ENTIRE batch of smoothie would be 285 calories, and considering the nutritional value and taste, it is well worth it.

  • it bugs me every green smoothie video i watch, always put sugar shit in it.

  • Fruits and veggies shouldn't be eaten together. They each require a different enzyme to digest them. When eaten together they don't digest properly, thus producing flatulence. Fruit should be eaten by itself on an empty stomach or at least four hours after a properly-combined meal. If fruit is eaten in the morning on an empty stomach, it digests quickly and another meal can be eaten within two hours.

  • @patricia67252 Fruits and veggies can be eaten together. when you are talking about food combinning. You can't have the protein with the fruit because protein takes longer to digest and if you eat fruit after protein the fruit will ferment because it can not digest properly ( this is where you get the bloating ).

  • @beachballsify2 not more than a couple hours I would say... they tend to get very thick and discolor.

  • My smoothies are simple, 2 fruits plus greens; but I always get a little heartburn. So then I went simpler, 1 fruit + greens, still a little heart burn. I reduced the quantity from 32ozs to 16ozs, heartburn!!! I'm I doing something wrong? (My greens are spinach or parsley or cilantro; either 1 of these, always rotated.)

  • What do you think of green powders? my boyfriend and I made a green smoothie with romaine, baby spinach with an apple a pear some figs and half a lemon, and it was soooo grainy and gross. I"m gonna try this one though.

    When I introduce folks to smoothies I add spinach and they are always surprised how well it tastes.
