  • Della is iconic and mr Krby has a great voice, i love it.

  • man they were great together.and della is so young.

  • A+

  • Um, Did the Jackson 5 sung "Never Can Say Goodbye" first, or was it actually George Kirby & Della who sung it first?

  • yes for Della!!!!!!!!!

  • Oh you degenerate African Americans crying and bitching all the time bout' not being equal and all. Racism's over and done with. You had your fun, made your fuss, got your attention like a desperate child. Now get back to the cotton fields, yeh? White folk, teach your children to look out for the brutal, savage, rapist tendencies of the shit skins.

And niggers, while you're at it...call me "master" .

Spread the message! Put the niggers where they belong- on the end of a nice long rope.

  • there's been guesses to when this was...i'm gonna put mine in and say 1971 because of the fashions and styles and variety shows were a ratings powerhouse during the late 60s and early 70s...

  • Yes I have met these people in person..Dela is my child heart throb!!

  • Della really gets into it @ 4:40-4:47 man i loved it

  • i love this

  • this is nicee

  • superb

  • Wow, Della Reese with an afro, that's a new one. Well, still love her anyway.

  • What period is this performance from? I am guessing the 60's which is just a bit before my time. It may be from the 70's though which is when I was born but I was probably too young to be watching this type of show but even today listening to it, its a very 'feel-good' kind of performance to watch. Very enjoyable. I love it.

  • @Brinamorg its from the 70s actually

  • true blue beautiful talent, love della, i miss this, wonderful entertainment.

  • Fantastic!!

  • Great performance.

  • ME LUV'UM THESE TWO PPL!!! Everyone over 50 knows that Della had her own syndicated variety show, aired locally on WOR-TV Ch.9 in NYC. Della was always a down-home power-house. The kind of worldly woman that demanded ones respect and always returned it with kindness. George Kirby finally had his day in the sun with his short-lived, but nonetheless entertaining TV revue. As much as one can salute these two, let's not forget those who had their backs, espec. the great Bobby Darin!!!

  • This must go in my topten youtube ......You see I happen to think that "Let me in your life " was her at her best.....She worked wonders with "Being Green"....There is not a bad track on the album.....This seems to be from that period....Her voice is at her peak....She is sensational !!!!

  • GOD I LOVE THAT LP!! A PRIZE GEM!!

  • This brings back such memories. I love these two...

  • Top Post Thanks....

  • Is it true that Della is part native American; is that true!

  • Her mother was all Cherokee, so that would make Della 50% Cherokee as well.

  • @grenadian11 Hi...Many African Americans have native american lineage in their family. Just an FYI....

  • LOL at the second song title "Good, Bad, Happy or Sad" listed at the beginning of the clip. Hmmm....I'm pretty sure Della is singing "Let's Stay Together". This clip is pure eye and ear candy. Thanks for posting!

  • I think Della is a wonderfully gifted singer and I love the way she & George do this song...God Bless them....

  • The interpretation is terrible, but I absolutely love it! These are two great songs that were soulful hits in the early seventies by Al Green and Issac Hayes. Della and George dilute the song, but there's something sweet and sentimental about this duet. And anyway, it beats watching Pat Boone sing these songs.

  • GOT GET DELLAS ALBUM LET ME IN YOUR LIFE

  • I think Never Can Say Goodbye was originally sung by The Jackson Five?

  • you are correct :-)

  • @SimonW ugh no al green

  • That was the era. A little bit corny. But it doesn't take away from their talent.

  • I can't believe I'm seeing this ! One of my absolute favourite Della recordings and Mr George Kirby - the same George Kirby who recorded 'What Can I Do' for Cadet records in 1965 !

Sad to hear he passed in 1995.

  • thiz iz my great uncle he died on September30,1995 in Las Vegas,Nevada due 2 Parkinson Disease and was born on June 8,1923 in Chicago,Illinois. Was married to Rosemary 1960-1995 due 2 his death.

  • Boy ! I Love Oldies
