At least with gas you can see the tax on the marquee. And why is there an excise tax on on equipment for archery as opposed to soccer? Simple: IT'S WEAPONRY. I don't like it either, but at least it's consistent with other weaponry (ie firearms).

jesus, this is possibly the most boring way to present an argument against federal excise taxes i have ever heard. ...that is what she's doing right, attempting to make an argument against it?...  and why is the 'average taxpayer' idealized as someone named joe, jane and bob. jeez this is really sad.
