  • But is impossible six months later.... in the pirate Liza was born.... There are photos with liza and judy together......

  • I saw this movie a few years ago and really enjoyed it. I thought Judy Davis was terrific as Judy Garland. I'm a huge Hugh Laurie fan & he was great in this but I do wonder how it came about that an auburn haired, blue-eyed Englishman came to play a black haired, brown eyed Italian-American. Hugh is 6'2, 1/2 while Minnelli was 5'9 too. lol

  • Who's the blonde haired chick in Judy's hospital room? Is it Lana Turner?

  • differential diagnosis, people! the patient is too sexy to play vincente minnelli.

  • they should of kept tammy until she met sid luft judy davis was to old for this part

  • Can you upload the scene where Lorna Luft collapses from exhaustion when taking care of her mom too much, and the part where Judy performs at the palace theatre?

  • Wow...if any of these moments were real, can you imagine how...dramatic they would have been?

  • Terrific actors.Hugh is excellent as Minelli and Judy as Garland!British actors are the best!!

  • I cried at 7:07 when I saw this movie. It broke my heart.

  • I really enjoyed this movie! I cried three times. But I think that they used Judy Davis too early in the movie. They should have used her around "A Star is Born". Because she looks too old to be Judy here. Like in the trolley scene or in The Pirate. They should have used Tammy Blanchard a bit longer.

  • Can somebody PLEASE upload this MOVIE!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Honestly, I don't think anyone can play judy garland, judy davis is probably the best actress for this part, but she still looks... strange as garland. It just doesn't seem right. Shes a wonderful actress though.

  • @JansterBanana I agree even through i hear Anne Hathaway is filming Judys bio-pic this year, "Get Happy: The Life of Judy Garland"

  • @cinerama62 Yea, I'm excited to see this even though I hear that Judy's voice won't be used? I mean they are basing it on "Get Happy" (Gerald Clarke's terrible and mostly fictional biography) the least they can do is use Judy's voice in the film. I think that this film might let people know about Judy which is good, like if they haven't heard of her.. but I wish it could be based on Gerold Frank's book, "Judy"..

  • I love the scene where she tells Vincente she's going to have a baby and give up the pills. What a beautiful scene. :)

"I'm never going to take one of these again. I've promised myself, and I'm going to do it this time."

  • i cant find this movie any where.. can n e one post it? or tell me where i can watch it??

  • it was recetnly on OXYGEN

  • @tiffb17

eBay would have a copy, I got mine at Newbury Comics

  • If you ever find it.. please tell me!

  • I love Judy Davis as Judy Garland, but sometimes, she looks a little bit old in some parts. Just my opinion. Excellent job, though!

  • @97sweeney10 I agree about the old part. Judy Davis in this role, has me constantly reminded that it's a poor imitation & not a believable job.I know it's impossible to have anyone play this role to actually think we're watching Judy Garland.Garland's persona's intense,Larger than life. You can see it from her TV show & interviews.I think Davis' portrayal was forced especially her breathing technique, Judy Garland never "grunted" the way Davis does. Her lipsyncing & facial movements look warped.

  • @97sweeney10

Judy Garland aged too quickly in real life. I think the age makes it better.

  • @SomethingElse1016 hmm i suppose you're right the more i think about it!

  • @97sweeney10 yeah not little bit old. she DOES look quite old.

  • hugh laurie is such an amazing actor!!

  • i got this movie and man o man it is soo worth it!!! i love judy soo much !!!

  • How did I miss this movie? Love Judy Garland, love Judy Davis and love Hugh Laurie in anything but House, (only because I hate doctors so much). Fred Astaire, the consumate perfectionist, once said that Judy Garland was one of the best artists he had ever worked with because she was so smart that she could pick up choreography almost immediately and execute it perfectly. Also said that she was so gifted that she could do comedy and tragedy equally well. RIP Judy.

  • Thanks for posting!

  • LOL AT HUGH LAURIE

  • could you post the whole movie i would love to see the whole thing thanks!

  • Holy crap!!!! I didn't even remember Hugh Laurie being in this movie!!!!!!

  • what movie is this from??x

  • My Life and Shadows with Judy Garland.

    made for tv cbs movie

  • Me & My Shadows: Life with Judy Garland

  • LOL, oh, my bad! I almost got it

    ;p

  • thanks x

  • it was an ABC movie

  • oh, haha, my bad!

  • I wish someone could post the part when Judy Davis sings (or lip sings) Somewhere Over the Rainbow in this TV miniseries. That was certainly a WOW performance!

  • I think Judy Davis was too old to play the part when Judy Garland met and married Vincent Minelli. They should have used Tammy for this.

  • @opelske I agree they should have used tammy until judy married mark herron judy davis was far to old to play judy in her mid twentys

  • Even though he is odd casting (looks nothing like the real Vincent) Hugh's acting is great as ever. God, I love this man.

  • I agree. Hugh did a great job, but he looks nothing like the real Minelli. I think he was even much shorter.

  • Hugh Laurie is a brilliant actor, and he has done so many different roles. He's an actor who has much emotions hid inside his eyes and in his voice when he talks. I'm glad you upload this. So I can be fed with other works with him, other than House and A bit of Fry and Laurie...

  • Love it! I missed it when it was on TV. Is it

out on Video somewhere over the rainbow? I want it! Great POST!

  • Judy Davis was too old to play Judy at this stage of her life, they should have kept the younger actress a bit longer.

  • ad yeah that was the only bit i wasn't so keen on!! it was only the trolley song-i think it was because she didn't look at all like her, like tammy did when she played dorothy in the wizard of oz!

however- all the liza minellis look so much like the Liza Minelli, especially the end one!

  • iam replying to mrmljov- the 'thing' she was in her hands are her pills!!

  • its so sad, but great film!! i own it on DVD!!

all judy lovers should buy this film!!

i cried right at the end when lorna talks about her mama!! and Judy's funeral is on!!

  • Hugh Laurie is so cool.

  • i refuse to believe this crap. I want to keep her wizard of oz image in my mind, and nothing else.

  • I'm sorry, at the end what is she holding in her hand?

  • The story goes that she locked herself in the bathroom and broke a decorative bottle to cut her throat.

  • if this had been a feature, Judy Davis would have won the Oscar. But then, she's in good comapny with Ms Garland in the non-winners category, nobody can glorify their amazing talents.

  • i own this movie, and i have to say i was kind of rather disappointed. I absolutely adore Judy, but the movie mad Sid Luft look like the victim, when he was really the victimizer. I love JUDY DAVIS AND JUDY GARLAND...this movie had the potential to be remarkable.

  • Maybe Lorna didn't want to show her father in too negative of a light.

  • Yes. I agree. And it was completely respectful on Lorna's part. However, I just feel that if they are going to make a movie about someone's life, they should display all of the details accurately.

  • ive finnaly seen the whole of this movie yay! i loved most of it...the only bits i didnt like was the bits where they recreated the numbers from garlands films...like the trolley song bit and the man that got away bit lol. but loved most of it!

  • I remember I was ten when this first came out! It was such a great movie but I wish I could see the whole thing. But I love Judy Garland! She is amazing and Judy Davis plays her so well!

  • I have this whole movie on dvd and I lve it. I did not know what a sad movie was until I watched this one. Judy Garland is amazing. I get so sad when I think about her life, but now she is in a a happier place called Heaven. God bless you Judy Garland.

  • i wished the whole of this video was on youtube. i ahve no idea where to watch the full version of this

  • i love her

  • lol...sure she threw away her bottle of pills when she got pregnant, but look at her light up a big old cigarette! lol. its sad how little we all knew back in the day...and one thing though...this womans voice is too soft as Judy.

  • I agree with RedTopBear!! Judy Davis as Judy Garland was Stellar!! Saw the whole movie. It's a bit hard to watch in some places, but it's only because Judy Davis did such a damn good job. The DVD is for sale. The Movie is called "Me and My Shadows", I believe.

  • her voice so different'

  • what a shame... she had such a hard life. it makes me sad to think about her. ill never forget her as dorothy in "The Wizard of Oz".

  • It's ashamed that she's dead...she was wonderful in "The Wizard Of Oz", and she has a lovely voice...a classical wonderful person...anybody agree??

  • Yes. And a great talent! Died much too young. So sad for most of her life happiness had eluded.

  • Can anyone upload this? Or tell me where I could get clips of the movie? I love it!

    Thanks for posting!

  • One of the most amazing performances I have ever seen was Judy Davis as Judy Garland. Simply astonishing and the BEST perofrmance of that year.

  • Judy Davis gives one of the most amazing performances I have ever seen in my life on this miniseries.

    Thanks for posting this video.

  • Oh, Hugh Laurie, before his "House" days. Who knew?

  • Oh btw, I gotta put my 2 cents in! The cloths that Judy Davis wears through this movie look exactly like Judys actually costumes. Does anyone know if they're the real ones? And Hugh Lurrie is WAY too young and good looking to play Vincent. V.M was alot older than Judy.

  • "maybe privately she was sad. " Of cource she was sad! Her entire career went down the toliot, she was sick, and broke! Alot of people who where close to Judy always say, through all of her life, she never lost her sence of humar.

  • OMGOMG WHAT HAPPENS WHAT HAPPENS LOL?!?!? I didnt know that she was all.. akjdsklj like that.. WHATS THE NAME OF THIS MOVIE!?!? somebody message me please.. thanks.

  • Its called Life With Judy Garland:Me and My Shadow.

It was just on Lifetime a few weekes ago.

  • I thought this was one of the most moving, accurate, and beautiful docudramas I've ever seen. I've always loved Judy Garland, & I felt Judy Davis was able to move a room w/ her performance--she truly gave me chills. Lifetime never puts any of their footage online, so can anyone post a scene of Judy Davis singing from this?

  • Judy Davis is amazing. Simply amazing.

  • What?! Hugh Laurie is far too attractive and normal looking to play Vincente Minelli.

  • Those dam faggots made her crazy. Poor Judy.

  • pps. cant believe how much this actress sounds like judy in her speaking voice, its sooooo uncanny

  • ps. so weird to see hugh laurie doing an american accent hahaha

  • This bio is like, the story is of Judy, but the actress is like more like a calm and sensable Liza than Judy. Everyone says Judy had this wonderful sense of humor and would have them rolling on the floor they were laughing so hard. This Judy is more like the sadder, more dramatic Judy that everyone likes to talk about, but it really wasn't the real Judy. I never knew her personally, but on many people on TV that I've seen have said everything I just did.

  • yeah i totally agree, have you seen judy on the jack paar interview on youtube? she was HILLARIOUS!! i was practically wetting myself i was laughing so much! though i havent actually seen the whole of this film, so i cant really comment on it, except that maybe we see the private side of judy here? maybe privately she was sad.

  • I wish her biography was on youtube.

  • Who isn't!!

  • i <3 u judy garland. ur my role model a lot

  • "Judy Garland" and Hugh Laurie! What more can you ask for? lol, I love it!

  • Judy Davis really did do an amazing imitation of JG...really good. And, of course, Hugh is wonderful as always:)

  • I love Hugh Laurie, but i hate that u say JG was a pill popper. SHE wasn't!!! She is a beautiful awesome delightful person. And, she's prettier than me!

  • And yes, natural-born women typically are prettier than little boys who wish to emulate them when they grow up.

  • She was addicted to prescription drugs for most of her life.

  • whats the name of this? i <3 judy garland

  • the movie is called " me and my shadows"

  • whats the name of the movie this is from?

I watched it last night, it was amazing.

  • the movie is called "me and my shadows"

  • Wow. Hugh looks a lot like Micheal McDonald (MadTV) in this. Particularly around 4:57

  • I like your video clip and have rated it as awesome. Please view my clip of some rare 1940's movie star cards, including Judy Garland, Humphrey Bogart, Ingrid Bergman, Frank Sinatra, Gregory Peck, Errol Flynn,

Ronald Regan, Lauren Bacall, Bing Crosby and many more.

  • Attractive Hugh Laurie is an odd choice for Vincente Minnelli. Over and again, Judy showed she did not prefer handsome men. Notable exceptions: Tyrone Power and Glenn Ford.

  • No, she just liked them gay. Guess we know where her daughter, Liza, got it from.

  • Fwd, that's only the half of it. Yes, Judy preferred the company of gay men for friendship and often sex. But also, as Judy became more hip, stylized, and chic in a Kay Thompson way, one could surmise that concerning the type of men she attracted, this definitely had an impact.

  • According to her daughter, Lorna Luft, Judy never figured out that it's one thing to have a gay man as a father figure or best friend and another thing entirely to make one into a husband for a woman.

  • Ahh. . .a 21-year-old delusional drag queen who wants to be Judy Garland when it grows up. How sweet. Based on your comments here, I take it you both share a taste for the pharmaceuticals. Of course, her excuse was that the studio put her on them to make her work more. What's yours?

  • wow...this man is wonderful in everything he does! Hugh Laurie really is more than brilliant!

  • Thanks for posting! In all of his iterations, Hugh Laurie is always more fabulous and more handsome each time...
