  • Yes it does because the straw has been taped to the flexible balloon membrane, not to the solid can. The balloon membrane rises when the air pressure falls and it falls when the the air pressure rises. The problem is the ballon membrane will rise with rising temperature even when the pressure is stable. This is why commercial barometers always have a temperature compensating mechanism.

  • The straw will also change position due to changes in temperature. Some form of temperature compensation is needed.

  • how will the straw move? it is been taped.? Does it really will move?
