  • It is a Pakistani movie guys !

  • Kiron kher is ready for whtever script is demeaning to muslims and islam. There is a good reason why she has been so closely associated to RSS.

  • nice pakistani film. indian some stars in this film

  • nice pakistani film. indian some stars in this film

  • What a little masterpiece....the elegance, the poignancy, the performances by all three leads....This is the second pakistan based movie i have seen after khuda ke liya....I must see, this movie deserves a lot more attention then it has gotten....

  • @majesticmaniac Do watch BOL starring Iman Ali and Atif Aslam. Beautiful movie ever!! Pakistan does have quality scripts and ideas. Too bad their industry is not supportive and the government is a loser. Or else, I see a bright future for Pakistani movies.

  • the hero aamir is my mamu

    he is from quetta

  • the hero aamir is my mamu

  • i respect this lady that she worked in a PAKISTANI movie with that love.

  • nice

  • really, I dont think Pakistani Punjabis know how to do GIDDA and BHANGRA

  • Can we for once shut up about Pakistanis and Indians to watch a movie that brings together both countries?

  • i loved this movie....its amazing...en specially indians actors coming to pak, was good for me...i can imagine that some of our sikh friends are just crazy to visit pakistan, lahore..

  • there is no freedom for minorities in india, example is babri mosque. hindu captured this mosque and said it used to be a mandir...shame.

thanks Allah we r seperated from hindus.

  • Yes this movie is directed by a Pakistani n yes it has Indian actors too so whats the big deal about it, do these things really matter in the 21st century n in the era of globalization? No! All that matters is a good work,..

PS I m proud that this topic is so nicely being brought up in the form of movie by a Pakistani director and I really respect/admire the acting skills of the Indian actors who have been casted in this movie particulary Kiron Khair ....

  • its an amazing documentry, and it has both pakistani and indian actors as its a story of the partition of the sub continent hence it only justified to have both actors, its german movie- noreen here

  • haha, is anyy1 here who can define extremism....?

  • Its a shame how pakistan has moved from the ways of the Prophet( saw) and peace and understanding to the ways of extremist wahhabis. But Imam Mehdi (as) is the only one who can fix this crisis (and prophet Isa) - no one else.

  • The muslim extermism was not over done, but well put into context. It was the two men that arrived from Lahore that started the fundamentalism, and I believe the film is trying to tell you these two men are officials of the Government, to spread propaganda within the villages.

Initially, all villagers rejected their ideals, but then slowly, slowly, through the teenagers they got a voice.

Bad Government - corrupting the innocent muslims everywhere!

  • @MrZ4M1R Why did the village Zamindar / Chaudhry support the two fundamentalists ?? He was influential enough to kick them out if he wanted to.

  • This is one of the most beatiful movie's I have ever seen - and to think this was shown on National TV in England, yesterday.

Before I say anything more, I need to say that I am a muslim.

  • Beautiful movie!

  • Kher you are one of best artist I ever seen. BEST acting. Thank you for this gift.

  • Pakistan and India 2 brothres seperated at birth.

  • This was an extremely well done movie. The way the directors showed how the village slowly descended into extremism is amazing. Seemed so realistic. Without being senstational or exaggerating the effect.

The acting was also great. The lead character and his mother both did a great job. Never seen the guy before in any other movie preceding or subsequent to Khamosh Pani. Dunno why. Dude can act.

  • @Zulfiqar32 This village is just like hundreds of other villages in South-Central Punjab , like Multan , Muzaffargarh , Dera Ghazi Khan , Layyah , Bahawalpur , Rajanpur , Toba Tek Singh , Jhang , etc.

  • @BraveMuslimSoldier49 Yup. Except this one is supposed to be a village is Northern Punjab, in Potohar near Wah. Unfortunately they are speaking Punjabi vs the potohari dialect so it throws one off. Interestingly, the village is called Charkhi. There is a Chakri village (also Chakri interchange) as you head into Islamabad-Rawalpindi metro area via M1 motorway

  • Ch.Nisar ke halkey main aata hai Charkhi...fyi

  • Zia ul Haq was not a Wahhbi himself. He regularly shaved his berad and grew a long moustache.

    Nabi ka Sunnat ??

  • i am shocked to see one indian movie like same "MAHATARBHOMI" recently released 2 months ago....OMG, these movies r really makes me sick

  • but this is reality in many villages in south asia

  • much better than Khuda ke liye. KKL is melodramatic and although a relevant film, it is clear it is not written by somebody who understands literature. Khamosh is a very subtle film and shows the phenomenon from many different levels. One thing I noticed is that the son likes how fundamentalism allows him to impose himself on others ("log meri baat sunte hain"). many muslim men who are failures in life use Wahabism to dominate others especially their wives and families.

  • Many Muslim women are choosing Wahhabism , as a means to show her power in front of potential marriage partners. Got it ?

  • RLY great movie i see it at ARTE rly.

  • its not pakistanis, it indians

  • they are pakistanis read the cast and profile of the the team

  • o yes it is a pakistani movie made by sabiha sumra belonging to karachi ,married to a sri lankan, settled in delhi. if dun believe that watch hr interview in "brunch with bushra-sabiha sumra". karan kher's role was first offered to buhra ansari but due to her daughter's o -levels exams she cud not do it but in sabiha's next venture she is definitely a part of it.this film has got an international award to be the best movie- top movie

  • I think you are not Pakistani that is why you could not recognize more than a dozen PTV actors in this movie.

  • Hey, i never watch lollywood so much cus i am an deaf! it don't mean i am not paki! I have create my own lollywood episodes! please watch my "Pagal Deewana Madly in love"

  • @PakistanisPrince the 3 main actors(Kher, Malik, Shukla) R indian, but many of the supporting are pakistanis

  • Great film... I first watched it on NetFlix, but, this video have some real interviews and uncut videos so it's a delight watching it the 2nd time... Thanks for uploading this great film...!

  • I think Indian and Pakistanis respect each other and understand that it is in their favor to do so. Prosperity will follow after peace with the two nations.

  • This movie was shown to people in villages free of cost

  • ok so what? It still is a flop!

  • mite be a flop for fanatics but it really is a big time hit for the ones who are educated and are blessed with the power of thinking wats right and wats wrong

  • or may be i am missing your point

  • I can't say anything. everybody can take a different meaning from a movie.

  • but again....the question arises....why was that slogan used at the time of pakistan movement was valid and not valid now..

  • the movie is a bit stange....shows the slogans like "Pakistan kaa Matlab kiya La IlahaIllah(what is the maninig of Pakistan...there is no Bog but Allah)" to be voice of fundamentalism...but actually this was main slogan of Pakistan Movement..

  • This movie is not about a slogan, this is about the misuse of such slogans and teachings.

  • we pakistanies are confused nation(expecting a lotof bashing)...dont know whether to accept islam or not...want everything like kissing girls before marriage and mujras to be allowed and call it moderation...but want to have a separate cultural identity...

  • apart from that ... i liked the movie....thanks for uploading

  • heyyy pakistani brothers... am praneeth from india.... i wanna see dis movie... wer can i download dis movie???? plzz tell me....

  • that is really sad. I also know an elderly woman in Lahore who was hiding under the bed in a deserted house. The family who came into this house raised her up and then she was got married with one of their son later. She has grown up children now. One of her daughter was my school teacher

  • My mom use to tell us a story of a muslim women left behind, she married a sikh man who defended her with heart. Years later, when she her brothers came from Pakistan, she couldn't resist going with them. She left one boy and girl behind with their father. He tried contacting her, but he never got through, this happened in Ferozepur.

Too many stories like this, a shame on humanity and religions to put ordinary people through that. It is heart touching, welldone.

  • Oh what a great movie...very similar to Pinjar. A real look at partition, fundamentalism, and women in Indian/Pakistani society. Movies such as this are depict a real part of Punjabi history. I also reccomend Train to Pakistan, if you guys liked this move.

  • I have heared from my grand father that Sikhs and Hindus were well protracted in Pakistan untill the first train came from india to lahore, full of dead bodies of Muslim migrants and then hell broke loose for sikhs and hindus in Pak... Religious extremism thing is over blown in movie...

  • I watched the movie yesterday on GEO. What a beautiful film. Although it tells story of a Sikh woman, it is true vice versa as well. Many muslim women were also left behind. It is a story of all these women. I love the way the movie has been filmed; it gives an accurate picture of the village life of punjab.

  • Thats so true! I am glad Geo showed this movie!

  • sidhu , it is said wise men learn from history , so i dont want to forget the blood shade of muslims , which is never shown in media , But insted they always show , how fundamental a muslim could be , where as some of the best people in the history have been from all religions , But they pretend muslims r not good since 9-11

  • This movie doesnt show that muslims are not good! you need to watch this movie before you comment. This movie just focuses on the Era of Zia ul Haq, which is a controversial figure not a Saint or Prophet. If someone criticize Zia then it doesn't mean that he is criticizing Islam. Secondly, This movie is made in Pakistan. Its written and directed by Pakistanis.

  • upfront007, Please don't post same comments multiple times, it is called spamming. I will delete spam comments if I see them.

    Thanks,

  • Upfront007 seemed to be concerned that both sides of the story have not been portrayed. It is a shame that you have missed the purpose of this movie and are so intent on the production of such unnecessary and crude films. But I do not wish for you to have any doubt in your heart so visit your library or search online and you will find history of 1947 relating to the issues you raised. History is there to stop us from repeating mistakes, not to be used as ammunition for further conflict.

  • I agree with you.

  • One of few films with meaning. Thank you for uploading.

  • Good Movie but full of exaggeration.

  • pindi eid da mela

oh man, I cant control myself

i was kid (5-6 years old) when I went first time to see this mela in Liaquat Bagh Pindi, all seens are just come in front of my eyes. My late father was with me, he loves me so much i cant tell you
