  • That biofuels are putting up food prices seems simple, it's a nice moral issue and offers an easy solution (cut the biofuels and all will be well). But the land used for biofuels just doesn't seem enough; the numbers don't look anything like right. An alternative would be droughts cause food commodity prices to rise -- and a slumping dollar causes a bail out into commodities.

  • I dont see the wide spread starveing of Mexicans in the near future, they come in to the U.S. at will, and work sending most of the money back to Mexico,Mexico's economy is better than ever, and will be for some time to come in my opinion.

  • Gratex, you are not using sound economic theory in your appraisal of the corn market.

The increased demand and prices of corn and corn products will spur increased production and innovation. Great American companies like Monsanto are working on new forms of our most basic crops that will greatly increase the yield.

However, ethanol and the government subsidies that support it are a sham.

  • It's not even that people turn away from the truth, it's just people are way too apathetic.

Nobody feels they have a role to play, they feel what they do is somehow disconnected from everything else.

The individual considers himself as such, but in reality the individual is really part of a larger whole.

The belief one must act with haste due to a coming apocalypse is somewhat essential even if it is a half-truth.

  • I doubt they had enough...

  • Hey man interesting video! I am with you on the Food for Fuel thing, it is just insanity!! I will be going 2 my property in Kentucky at the end of January and I will be taking my cam with me. I will show you massive amounts of Petroleum that is being produced but remains unaccounted for! We are all being hoodwinked my friend and markets are being manipulated all in the name of God Profit!

    5/5

  • ok

    how's your cold?

  • It is still kicking my ass! The big problem is I cant speak...

  • by that logic it would mean that you invented pedophilia and televangelism...

...trust me, the Scot's are great, but they did not invent everything lol

  • "Why of course the people don't want war ... But after all it is the leaders of the country who determine the policy, and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship ...

  • i'm irish, i like where i come from, but how can i be proud? what did i do to be irish?

  • I'm a mix of Irish (my dad), French and English (my mom). Though I think because I was born in Boston, live in Boston and will be buried in Boston...I really don't take any pride (nor am I ashamed) in my blood-line. Rather, I'm proud to be a Bostonian.

  • People need to start to feel a little discomfort for once. I know many of my fellow countrymen/women would disagree with me.

  • My Grandfather was one of the original Irish

Home Children.Orphans sent to Canada as farm

laborers. He was packed off alone to Manitoba at

the age of 9.Did you read The Oil We Eat?

  • I did, and I got angry. Also, a bit of apathy. A whole pile of it in fact. Me being a veggie type I've minimised my suffering and destruction in that order. First I gave up milk, then soya milk, then all processed foods. The next step is non-local foods, which is a tough one considering where I live.

  • I was thinking of attempting a video on it.Or

do you think this is old information?

  • brave heart, the guy, whats his name, william wallace spoke only french,it's true.

  • i'm irish, gf is scottish!!celtics,no religion though

  • I added a link in the video description for ya. I don't feel "blaming the english" is ever a good thing to do. If the roles were reversed I'm sure the same thing would have happened (if it did happen :P)

  • He didn't speak only French, he was born and raised in Scotland. Maybe you're thinking of Mary Queen of Scots, or Prince Charlie.

  • and i think it's pronounced staycalm ;D

  • Staycalm up!!!
