Need to put some muscle on your hammer swinging arm and get in the good habit of not working on your knees. You will be going for knee reconstruction surgery the time you hit 50; it happens too many in blue collar work force. 50 will come quicker then you think and who knows by then, the status of Obama Care when walking cripple, while kid's/wife of your own drive you to a third rate Govt. employed orthopedic (from Bangladesh), learn to squat when working & wear ear protection while hammering :)
great vid. however, you really need a good anvil and a proper forging hammer, otherwise your knees and wrist will blow out. i bet there is a local blacksmiths' association chapter; they will have classes, conferences, live demos, and used equipment for sale. the national organization is called ABANA. check it out.
You've came a long way Steve :)

@superscoutman Nice, are you gonna make videos soon?
TechnicusJoe 2 years ago
Probaly but I have to go up to N.C to get more coal which SUCKS really bad!!
superscoutman 2 years ago
@superscoutman try to find a hand cranked blower for your forge and you will use only half the coal......(you won't be burning it up while forging)
