I personally like the Dylan version, and this was my favorite of the covers. Dylan isn't meant to be played polished. It has to be belted out. I can't help but be happy that the music I liked years ago is still standing up for other people.
Dude you guys should try cover the Headstones version of the Travelling Wilbury's song, its faster paced and much more enjoyable for the audience live. They're both good versions but when my band played the Headstones version the crowd loved it.
i think ist great. look like a first show or something but they show a great teaste, voice and sound much better than many others covers around here so THE KIDS ARE ALLRIGHT
I respectfully disagree. There's only one Dylan. I don't like groups who do it polished. Imho that isn't how Dylan is done anyhow. Dylan can be played by anyone who really likes it as these guys do. That's what counts. I'm sure Mr. Dylan would love to see this.
This Video is 3 years old, my new band (a unique mixture of heavy, doom and death metal, with a little gothic influence) is playing a concert in march and I'll try to get film of that one.
its so easy to laugh. This guys are the outlaws on the fucking school- and this is a schoolparty and its better to play a bad guitar than a good violine. This guys are very young and play this song!
It's actually not a Dylan song. It was written/performed by The Traveling Wilburys, a band that included Dylan. The original line up was: Jeff Lynne (ELO), George Harrison (the Beatles), Tom Petty, Bob Dylan, and Roy Orbison.
you've got a good voice and a great stage presence. this is actually a pretty good cover... not much like the original. but an interesting take on it.
Well, Steve, I listened all the way through. I don't know what it is, but I liked your version. With better equipment and better acoustics, I bet you guys sound great. Good voice, good guitars. Keep playing this song, and keep alive the mem'ry, of the Monkey Man! - CM in CA
I found it very interesting that you made it sound much more like and ELO song than Wilbury's. Don't know how the hell you did it, but I think Jeff Lynne would be envious.
This is actually pretty good, especially for a Youtube video. You kept the song close, but gave it a bit of your own flair.
Umm. It might be the sound quality, or the scenario you guys were in. The vocals were good, but it just seemed that after the chorus you guys could have been tighter, I guess. With that little lead line, it seemed out of place. I dunno. Please don't take that the wrong way, just trying to help in >_>
sounds nice! good voice, there is a tick too being a lead singer and you seem too have it down. But and for this song your telling a story and a dam good one at that so work more on the people hearing the story than walking around and acting it up. but very good job i liked it. I bet you guys are a lot tighter now as a band cause the song during the stops, and guitar riffs it could be a lot tighter
We actually got inspiration from the Traveling Wilbury version. We just sped it up a little and used different guitars, which is not what the Headstones did. They changed it entirely and ,dare I say, Massacred it.
You know, you still have my babies in you, Steven. Figure that you can go somewhere with this gig -- with these guys, nonetheless? You'll have bills to pay soon, another mouth to feed, and my drinking habits to support. You think that you and Tweeter can pull that off?
Please . . . with the looks of sexyness incarnite, the voice of an angel, the abs of a god . . . and the arms of a twig. I'l sell myself on street corners for young Logan/Cloud/Reno/Any other lame nerdy name I can think of :P!!!
I'm used to a bigger stage :P And most of the time i was tripping over cords. LOL. Yeah I'm a clutz. Kinda lame since I was the only one trying to put some life into the place but it was full of old people and the rest of us wernt that excited, I mean look at Matt (drummer) at 3:46 to 4:02. I love that he doesnt care :P If I dont move around then I dont have a excuse why I forget the words :D
Not you man!!! i Know you were trying but cant because of the double recked dragon (so lame I love it). Mostly was talking about Kevin and Gord!! I love you man dont be angry!!!
drummer was off at the beginning?!?!, look at that dude beside the drummer laughing, lol, Ill give you a E for Effort

It's a great album. Get it on Itunes

However, it was written and sung by Dylan, so one can defend calling it a Dylan-song:)

play the riff on the 6th string, and without that distortion. and try to include acoustic guitars, it will sound better.
