Therefore these recent hurricanes, tornadoes and cyclones all qualify as Beginning Signs.

It says in Matthew 24:33-34 that 'this generation will not pass away, until all these things have happened'.. some interpret that to mean Jesus was referring to events in the 1st century, yet others say it deals with future events yet to come...

The mystery is solved in the part of that scripture you did not quote... Jesus was looking at the tree and speaking about the leaves. When we see the leaves budding we know summer is near. The leaves are the signs; when we see the signs then that generation will not pass away. The leaves are the metaphor for the signs of the end.

One thing we can be sure of is that - the generation of that time did not see all the things that Christ had just described.

No one has ever seen the "abomination that causes desolation" which is when the Antichrist goes into the Temple and declares that he is God, see 2 Thess 2:4.

Therefore, we can be certain that Christ was addressing the future, the Time of the End.
