All Motown showed so much class and good music it's hard to believe the music industry could have done without their input. Even rock bands have reintroduced their songs. They had a lot of talent that went through Hitsville in Detroit. I've visited the music a couple times and went to one of their historical displays and films. I came out of the screening wanting to dance.
Indeed, every road has to end somewhere. It's too bad not many people realize this and continue to live in a fantasy. Glady's was at her best singing this song because it is true. What goes up must come down, and what goes around comes around. Every road has got to end somewhere.
This version sounds they dripped a little honey all over it. A touch too smooth -- the original recording had Gladys at her real raw best. "Said I done had my fill of you!"
This track is sampled in "MORGAN ICS - DEFENDERS OF THE UNDERGROUND"

One of two songs that was a hit for both Gladys Knight & the Pips and Marvin Gaye. The other one was, of course, "I Heard it Through the Grapevine".
