It's not just prostitution. There are also child slaves in the chocolate, oil, textile, cotton, coffee, fishing, and mining industries, just to name a few.

Cruelty towards children is by far the most upsetting of all human tragedy's. Credit to those individuals out there fighing on behalf of these kids.  What a nightmare it must be for the poor kids.

Slavery exsisted before the waaay to famous American(and European) slave trade...I think this will occur as long as their are disadvantage/dominated people..which most liekly means for the rest of human history.

It's been a problem in most rapidly developing and centralised countries for years. Since the value of the currency floats with rapid economic development, Poorer families in the countryside, especially farmers, are duped into selling their children. The parents get money up front and a regular sum, and the child works in the city.

The real problem is the type of work... Prostitution is unfortunately one of them :(
