  • hey, any one seen frank in person because i see him every wednesday

  • what I like about your playing is that you look very relaxed and nice vibrato!

  • Eh...don't listen to the snobs. You did a really good job with a difficult piece. And the viola sounds really good and looks nice and big. Who made it, when, and how big is it? Keep up the good work!

  • I really like your bow control

  • thanks muchness!

  • you might want to work on your stage presence. also, you could have been vibrating on several notes that you were not in this performance.

other than that, and some intonation spots, sounds good!

  • that's his masters, he knows what he's doing, overuse of virbrato is unprofessional. In baroque times they hardly used virbrato and still maintained a good sound

  • please don't say u actually think hindemith is a baroque copmoser.

  • rofl i didn't mean to seem that way, i was merely stating facts. in my opinion i think frank played beautifully and his use of virbrato was just right

  • Masters was about 2 months after, so I gave me a bit of time to polish off the inconsistencies... in-between work and thesis...LOL

  • Hindemith is 20th Century not baroque.

  • @BeAwesomeness Hindemith did not write in the Baroque Period!

  • thanks,

It was the first time I played the H to a public audience,

so there was defiantly room for improvement.

  • It's an "eh" performance. Your intonation is off in a few spots. I also don't approve of your interpretation, but that's my opinion. I just feel like it sounds too nice of a piece at times, like it's not rough enough. The notes on the page can only do so much, the rest is up to the musician. Not bad though.

  • thats cool,

i'll admit that my interpretation was for a broader audience,

meaning I aimed for a more lyrical flow than hard core rip snorting performance.

    next time hey!

  • I like your interpretation. Sounds good. Sometimes the intonation is a little off. The accompaniment didn't sound right...

  • cheers bro!

you have great listening skills as your are correct about the accompaniment.

the piano in that church is not fabulous.

in fact, I had to tune my instrument (up/down I can't remember) by 10 hertz just to match A4.

don't ask about the rest of the notes...LOL
