not anymore with the latest firmware update. youtube vids are still prone to artifacts, jaggies, and color banding but still very watchable and the framerate is silky smooth if you got a good internet connection. cnet tv is extremely laggy though, and i wished the n800 would work with veoh and myspace tv.

this is not a pda/portable pc type system, it is an internet appliance, to utilise the web protably, im sure you might be able to modify it in some ways to do what you need to do, but this device is in no way a pda

The statement that it "is in no way a pda" can be misleading. The OS of the device is a flavor of Linux and as such has had many free applications ported to work on the N800 including some that support PDA type functionality. You can play Flash games on the browser which is probably the easiest games to get working. And the age old question for any device "Will it play Doom?" Yes, yes it will.

We've been enjoying the 700 for quite a while now. It's been very useful for my wife when she's sick and has to stay in bed. At times her iBook is far too heavy so she uses the Nokia 700.

I'm very interested in the N800 because of the camera and the support for Flash 7. The Flash version previously was far to old. Hopefully, Opera is working on supporting Flash 9 very soon.

iPhone and the n800 cant be compared. This is a internet tablet pc, it does not function as a cellphone. The iPhone however has gprs (make/take calls). I would also like to mention that iPhone will be a closed device, it will not accept any 3rd party applications, so you will be stuck with the same programs untill apple creates new ones in updates.

You can actually add more ram in a way the internal SD slot can be changed to a flash drive for the device which allows more apps to be opened. I so far have 128 additional mb's and i just ordered a 1gb card for the internal.

It's not the ram, there is more then enough. The problem is around the web browser, which will probably be fixed in an update.

It's the poorly optimized Flash port. It's going to be fixed in an update within a couple months. There's a video somewhere on YouTube that shows the newer Flash version . . . smooth as silk.
