@Louielounge I am not quite sure, but i understand it as if she is deserted, like deserts weren't deserts and this is not their normal state, but deserts miss the rain, like a person needs water in the desert, so she actually misses somebody and she does not see herself without him... if u see my point :)

It's a haunting lyric, because at first you think she misses him, but then you realize maybe she is trying to find strength in being without him, like the desert is a place of life, even with very little rain.

Anyways, I always interpreted it as a "you broke my fragile heart and left me" song.
