  • very nice draw on the kage, not too many people get the little wrist twist at the end, hatsumi used to turn to the side when doing that technique in public so as not to give it away.

  • to mr 64114176; yes you're correct, there are faster and more efficient ways to draw the sword. the kage no itto technique was developed if the ninja was in a confined space like a hallway or a crawlspace for example. thats the purpose of kage no itto.

  • I dont mean to be offensive but this technique seems a bit excessive. I believe that there are much quicker and more efficient ways of drawing the sword. Perhaps someone would be kind enough to enlighten me as to the purpose of drawing the sword in such a fashion.

  • Maybe some obstacle which makes it not possible to draw the sword in a more straight-forward way(?)

  • Cheers i will :) it's alot like using the shiefed sword as a handbo which i've done many of times but not yet from kage no itto there must be hundreads of combinations with this move :D

  • Nice i've seen this before and also done it a few times but not that many the main forms with the sword i can remember was itto giri, kiri kaeshi and tai wari itto there has been others i have done there was one where we threw the sword i can't quite remember the name at the moment i think i'll redo some tonight in my spare time thanks for making this vid uve given me the inspiration to start practasing my sword forms again domo arigato Raj.

  • try using the draw in your unarmed combat also with wrist grabs and moves into takeori
