Oh I think Princess BophaTevi 's first film right? Directed by her father. She's still alive I heard she actually went to train young Khmers the dances after the '70s war by order of her father. I saw it in one of her interviews. Beautiful dance...hehe Also the singer is sinsisamouth I believe, the king used Mr. Sinn in his other films. Sos Mat was a Cham someone got it right...his son is alive and singing too.

Apsara dance is about sign language, if you observe, there are movements from head to toe in signs that tell tale about the dance. The dance is unique that's why we don't call it hip hop dance!

How come the music in this version use a flute type of instrument. More modern versions use more a kazoo sounding instrument. I like the flute version better, its easier on the ear. But still, robam apsara is my fav. classical dance.

I went to visit Cambodia for the first in 26yrs.back in '06. we visited Verng and we get to see Bopha Tevy teaching dancers in the Palace(Verng). She looks pretty old maybe in her late 50s or early 60s. But she does maintain her figure well.

I think during his young years, Sin Sisamouth did actually sing pinpeat music for Bopha Devi's school. So it might be him. But also, during that generation, there's this man who was a GREAT singer by the name of Sos Math (actually, it's Muhammed, but Chams say it like Math cuz he's Cham). That man had a BEAUTIFUL voice, the kind that gives you chills when you hear it.

She was a little dark in person. I didn't bow and she was staring at me. I was wearing a cool shade and it must be the reason that she starred at me! :) I missed my chance to take some pictures with her. Maybe in the near future, I will be able to take some pictures with her. Who knows? ;)
