Why is the driver dumping recycables on both sides of the split. Isn't it supose to be Cardboard and paper on one side and bottles on the other? I say this because whats the point of a split body 60/40?
@drummerkader hes putting a larger side for cardboard and paper like products and another smaller one for containers glass and plastic its on a commercial recycling route so its strictly on recyclables only
ohhh man i forgot what the town was called, it was a small town before madison i no that it was a small town though, all i remember was it had the word ville in it hahaha. If i remember ill get back to ya.
Excelent video I enjoyed it.I saw that panel divider working and wondered at frist what is that thing then remembered i have seen those once before. Thanks 5 Stars and saved to favorites
That's how we do it with our automated routes, All of the paper, cardboard, comingled is mixed together. We've got a line at the recycling plant that separates the paper without human contact, We do have several people on the line for quality control. I'll be making a video hopefully soon of the entire process from the home, picking up at curbside, dumping at the plant, follow through the plant lines etc. We can sort up to 21 lbs. an hour with this system!
lol, I was wondering when you said 21 lbs an hour. Veolia uses the dual stream with the commingled on the 40 compartment and paper on the 60 side. They don't do any single stream recycling pickup up here. IROW is the only company who picks up single stream up here. I can't wait to see your video at the MRF...it sounds like something cool to see!
ooh yeah! Gotta love that backup beeper! I don't know why, but slow Semi-Auto MSL drivers always annoy me. Still a great video though!! Awesome Heil action as well! What is that rack on the front of the hopper wall on the MSL for (seen at 6:17)? Liked all the Zarns/AmeriKarts too, particularly that Zarn at 7:55! Was exactly like the ones in my SD vids.
I asked the driver about the rack, and he said he didn't really know what it was for. He said he was a rookie and had only been on the truck for less than a year. My best guess is they are either to hold a spill cleanup kit or they put the containers of used motor oil up there. (These trucks also do resi recycle routes and they pick up used motor oil curbside) I'm glad you like the old Zarn 3390U's! And those are quite old...manufacture dates of Dec 1990 on them!
Great vid!!! I took some vids of a commercial stop, they are on my channel, check it out. Did the driver tell you where he was going stop to stop? He did to me. Bottles carts, i take it?
I will check it out. I knew where his next stops were going to be, and he was cool to talk to. There were both bottles and papers carts. You can notice him move the chute back and forth. The bottles carts dump into the curbside compartment, and the papers carts dump into the street side compartment.

Thanks! It is a unique way to pickup both paper and co-mingled carts with the same truck.

Another fine edition. I think I like this set-up the best for the co-mingle config. fast and smooth
NYMegaMan 3 years ago
Thanks! I do like this co-mingle config the best. I hope you can get some footage of some other configs on your fleet!

y dont yu life them with the lids open?
JustinFkn818 3 years ago 2
Because the material would dump out of the cart prematurely and dump into the other compartment, creating cross-contamination.
