Im half-way through the book, and its pretty good i have to say...I wanna figure out who is the real killer, i hate those jailers who made up that crappy story of ron saying that to his mom.>.>And this is all very weird for me, because some of my family lives in Oklahoma.
amazing book- the world we live in is based on decisions we all make. Let this book teach you one thing- have interity. Bill Peterson?? No integrity and I bet he lives every second of his life knowing that and hating himself.
@bestfriendArt I haven't read it yet, but it already looks horrible. Thank God there's justice in Heaven and Ron desn't have anymore of the hardships he was dealt. It's great that Grisham and the others all got together to do something about the problem. It's horrifying to think we can't do anything and are forced to accept it. NO! People really need to band together. That's the only way there will ever be any hope of stopping things like this from repeating. The only hope of justice on earth.
I salute John Grisham that he took on the challenge on writing The Innocent Man book in spite of the controvesies, powerful enemies, implications that it could bring and did. Most authors wouldn't have the balls to go against the Judicial system and the wrath it could bring. Its brave people like Mark Barret and his colleagues, judge Frank Seay, Anette and Rene Williamson that shines as small lights of hope in a big room of darkness to say that there is a chance and not to give up.
The Innocence Project is a wonderful cause. But there are many parents and children who are experiencing what a federal judge termed the "equivalent to a death sentence," when they are forcibly separated because of false allegations of child abuse and / or neglect. This has happened to hundreds of thousands in the USA alone. Almost no one is helping these innocent children and families. There is no DNA exoneration for parents, even if they did have a pro bono lawyer. Any suggestions?
Man what a story, although the book itself was my least favorite J.G. so far. All the narrative sarcasm was a little painful, but I commend him for taking on such a project. What a tight-rope to write such detailed N.F. in a novel.
Great book john, i just finished. Rest in peace Ronnie. Dennis, i wish you all the greatest amount of karma in the world for what you've been through as well. RIP Debbie Carter.
I just finished reading the book. I can't even describe how horrible I feel for the pain and suffering this man must have endured.
What a horrible life he had. My deepest sympathy goes out to his family. Such a tragic story and I was deeply moved. My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone.
Great Video. I posted it on my blog, Barbara's Journey Toward Justice. I started my blog after reading Dennis Fritz's book " Journey Toward Justice ". I will be posting stories and great photos from this event with John Grisham.
I could do without the music as a preface.
