This is just indication that their was a surge of power due to component failure (probably power supply)and to prevent further damage it shuts off also why the red light appears. I had a Polaroid that did this. I replaced a few capacitors on power supply and was working again.

I dont know why that would be but it does have a ambient light sensor that increase/decrease brightness which you can turn off from the menu.

@tinyproblem I called Samsung and they sent out a technician who changed the entire board. Still did it. They then replaced it with the 8000 model. Haven't had a problem since. Great customer service there.

All of the 2008-2010 samsung models where just useless. But now in 2011, samsung decided to use different kind of hardware cause they used some cheapass "made in china" crap. So Samsung actually upgraded their technology. This video was made in 2009. So basically he has or had a piece of shit tv from the 2009 tv models. it turns off cause either your cable box is set to 1080i! even doe your tv is a 1080i set the cable box to 7201...its clear an it will not turn off! Also if you have a tv thats 720i an have a cable box thats set to 1080i..you must switch the setting on your cable box! I bought my Samsung less than 2 yrs ago, and while it was under the manufacturer's warranty, had the mainboard replaced. 4 months later, and no longer under warranty, my TV is still doing the same thing. I called 1-800-SAMSUNG again, and the rep said, "No problem. Your TV's not under warranty, but this is a known issue. The bulbs in your TV are defective and we will send a tech out free of charge as a one time courtesy." Result: TV not fixed. Samsung followed by refusing to pay for the service.

I bought a 40 Inch LED 7020 TV. The problem is the picture setting is not stable. If I use (for instance) standard mode then after a while it changes automatically to the dynamic mode. I want to see mild pictures and the dynamic mode delivers very sharp and bright pictures.

Anyway, I don't know what kind of problem it is? I am not sure whether it is software problem or hardware problem? I wanna get rid from this problem and I will appreticate if someone suggests something.

Try taking the plastic wrap off the edges of the TV. The inductive power button is just beneath the Samsung logo. This may solve your random TV powering on and off issue.

Dude, you should come to live in Argentina, then you would have a blast. Around here, sharp has a faulty rate of 80%, instead of samsung (30%). We get the US models, and yeah, some of them have the clicking issue, BUT since that's a capacitor fail, you simply send them to a repair, i would NEVER send it to samsung, warranty is a lie, i'll rather pay 100 bucks for the repair, have the tv back in a week, and move on with my life.

The only thing I had from Samsung was the computer screen, it took 3 replacements to get a good one. And I decided not to take any chances when I was buying telly for my living room. My friends have Samsungs, I'd say 30% are satisfied the rest is pissed off.
