  • Unions and the middle class side with and vote for demarcates more often because they side with the Majority i.e.. The middle class more often, and the republicans GOP sides with big business it is just true. Big business has money to buy votes and the middle class has Unions and organized labor for voting power. The working class has the GOP on the run. So I say keep them running and soon they will see its the majority that they should be catering to.

  • LOL classic GOP spin!

  • You Obama supporters have just voted yourself out of a job.

    your "Change" is coming.

  • Because our economy's done so well under 8 years of Republican tax cuts and deregulation.

Republicans' response to finding themselves in a hole: dig faster and deeper, with bigger shovels. (And have tools like you dig for them of course.)

Sorry Zoom, the old Rethug lies won't work any more. That great Republican President said it best: "you can't fool all the people all the time."

  • Is Chris Wallace just hemmoraging credibility?

  • Lol the gop doesn't give damn about regular workers or unions period. All they care about is the big wigs, low wages ,no health care, and if you fired you're on your own. The only reason we have Unemployement is because if the dems. If it was up to the gop at lot of people would be worst off.

  • John Boehner is an asshole!, no one "bought the White House" as he claims. This is not like 2004 election where Bush was appointed President. Look at what the unions have done for the Big 3. Maybe if Boehner spent some time in his home state he would see exactly what the economy is like in Ohio, I think too much time in the tanning bed has fried Boehner's brain. As a former union member they did nothing for me except take money from my pay check.

  • fukn liars!!!

  • Americans for Job Security is NOT a pro-labor organization. It is a Repub pro-business, anti-union front group concealing its donors behind a non-profit. This is the measure that was behind Walmart advising employees to vote against Obama. Boehner's claim that this bill is a payback to the unions who supported the Dems is probably partly true, and unions support the bill b/c it will make it easier for labor to organize - a very un-Republican prospect. Boehner/Wallace both spout Repub propaganda.

  • Fox News... ugh...

  • who cares if the dems have a majority in congress...we have guys like hoyer who might as well be repugs

card checks do not take away secret ballots...hey steny, stand up for your own bill...you fuck

  • ??? im not sure i understand.. isnt it beneficial to the unions if the workers have a secret ballot?

  • No it's not. What they want is if over half the members say openly they want a union, and sign a card saying so, they can have a union. The companies want to intimidate workers with the process they have now and scare them into not unionizing even if a majority wants a union before the intimidation starts.

The Republicans want to allow those in a union to be able to opt out if they had their way but still make the union have to represent them if they did, thus busting the unions financially.

  • thanks for the 411

gotta love that name "americans for job security"..

the dems and the unions should start the "Americans for strong business" lol

  • What I described is what "Right to Work" means. It means members can opt out but they screw over the unions and still make them pay to represent them. It's GOP double-speak for busting unions with the pretense of protecting workers.

  • ? This doesn't make sense to me. why are they wanting to do this?

  • In case you didnt see it, i wanted to point out some discussion that might have only happened after you commented

To summarize, apparently the card check bill does not take away the secret ballot.

What i do know and it makes sense is that the problem with secret ballot can be people are more susceptable to intimidation if they think they are a minority and are threatened

The more people that are known to stand behind the union or a new contract negotiation, the less effective intimidation is
