Thanks for posting! I've been experimenting with pouring my backgrounds. How do you keep your paper wet? I read about using a spraying technique but it doesn't seem to keep the paper wet enough. I'm using a 300 lb rough paper...
I protected the white areas with masking fluid so I could pour freely with the paint. The masking fluid is applied to areas of color that I wish to save then it is removed at the end.
I have to agree with Janet. This has been the best video I've seen on pouring...didn't know it required so many layers of pouring. All the videos that I've seen have only shown one layer and I was always left wondering how they achieved such depth in the end result. No one discussed masking over painted areas, which I have always been afraid to do. Thank you for giving me the courage to try this.
At last a pouring video that actually shows the pour in action, wonderful. I paid good money for a video that showed me nothing but applying masking fluid, it left me feeling cheated. Wish I seen yours before I parted with that money. Thanks for sharing
@janetartist Thank you Janet! I am glad you enjoyed the video and I hope that you are able to have success with your pours. It can be difficult to figure out what to mask but is sooo much fun!
Thanks Leslie! This was really fun to watch! I can see I might have to sign up for one of your pouring classes. It would have been interesting to see how you chose areas to mask for each pour...and to hear your rationalle for masking and paint placement....HA...that's why I'll have to take your class I think. This was great though and I'm so glad you posted it.
que utilizas para dejar superfices blancas?

Also, do you use less water on the paper as you add darker layers?

how is it that the white areas or lighter areas like the highlight on the umbrella and chairs dont absorb the color of the pours ?
