There is nothing civilized about killing and any slaughter house that is that is working for the meat industry has objectives to pump meat out to the public and they are driven by profit. Because of that all ethics are thrown out of the window...

There is NO peaceful way to kill an animal.

It violates thier most basic interests in continuing life.

Instead of killing them peacefully, or not killing them and letting them roam free, we should just stop raising them in the first place. Our only justification is that we like the taste of meat.

Zpeeldray:  You need to open your eyes. These animals (non-humans, really -- we are all animals) are produced through forced breeding and artificial insemination to feed our selfish desires. Of course it would be better not to "produce" mass quantities of animals just to be needlessly tortured and killed! Imagine the same thing being done to humans, and perhaps this will help you put the situation into perspective.

Death of any animal is inherently cruel, and to produce animals in an economically viable way animals must be kept in conditions like this.

No, I don't take pills. There are plenty of other ways to get protein.I'm pretty healthy and far from dying. In fact I know multiple people who are vegan/vegetarian and almost half of them are over 50. :]

Yes, that did happen. But not all vegan parents are bad parents. We only hear about the ones that messed up, I'm sure there are plenty of people who raised their children vegan. There are also multiple websites, that tell you how/when you should start weaning your baby on a vegan diet. However, I believe that no parent should force their children to do something that they believe is right. So when I have children, they'll be able to decide if they want to be a vegan/vegetarian.

lol, your not extremely unhealthy - my health has actually improved since going vegan, and i get all my vitamins and watever else w/o taking supplements. If you don't eat protein, regardless of your diet you will be unhealthy....
