so than it is ok to do chest shoulders and triceps. but the fact the there is no point to do shoulder after the 3rd day if ur doing legs and shoulders right? because if ur working ur chest your still working your shoulders right? so man oh man that will take at least 3hrs of workout. so what is your take on that? Thank you :)
Shit them dumbbells are exoensive, i think i gonna pay half less for 45kg(99lb) olympic set instead, it will take me 30 seconds more to change weights, but what can i do(((
@bigshow90210 - if ur on p90x, i recommend following the fat shredder all the way. if ur asking my current diet, which is actually adding muscle.. well, i kind of found it by trial and error. i eat a lot :( so i selected good foods and eat them a lot to be able to keep up. fruits, salads, veggies, about 1 lbs of meat (preferably fish) and that protein shake, EVERYDAY. the catch is in caps bro. doing these everyday.. it works for me.. i also like partying and on average getting 2-3 drinks a day:(
@SL1DEmemphis - thx brother and keep it up. if u check out some of my recently posted videos, there are some interesting/serious stuff.. still a work in progress : )
@TheNtg3399 - tony is stronger than me, i know that. but i think if i workout w/him, i can make it hell for him, at least ; ) in the dvd he uses 15 lbs for pour fly's, but he can use more, i think he wants to emhasize form is more important than weights there.. but i get too bored with lighte weight, today, 8-18-2010, i did 11 reps w/25 lbs.. but see the above video was 2 yrs ago, still 25 lbs.. so i care about form too.. in my own way : )

@drtorqueP90XCoach Would you recommend this program for someone who has been bodybuilding for around 4 years and simply wants to add more muscle MASS??
@Quipsilon there are more ways than 1 to deal with an issue. if there was one unique, ultimate way of doing it everybody would be following it. and i think it would be quite boring. i think p90x is a very good tool and i believe considering its price it worths a shot.
yo man im 17 weigh like 200 i know alot but i dont look like it and idk always like thin ppl on here working out never a big dude i know i wont look like you in 90days but will i start losing the weight and fat?
@robphotoman defintiely. and i can guruantee you will not regret it. it was one of the best decisions in my life.. ive been 12 yrs in rowing and athletics, and i still learned big time from p90x.. hands down, hats off... good luck bro!
@drtorqueP90XCoach: Hey I was wondering if you had more workout videos so ill be able to follow and maintain a schedule to follow by working out to the videos you have...
kind chicken legged.....is this it??...any leg leg strength working?...seems like there is to much upper body contributions rather then full body...Not very much Leg incorporated workouts...Ive seen and met people who done this...but were chicken legged.... Why is that??
@mjking07 - use it.. it would support, one of the many things to support. would it create miracles? nope.. there's no book keeping easy answer that you do today and benefit tomorrow. ppl wanna hear a rule that works all the time.. nothing like that, it's consistency, and perseverance. just stick to the program, then do it everyday, one day -i dont know when- you gonna open your eyes and see the results..
@mjking07 don't waste your money on creatine, just eat alittle bit more, eat stuff like eggs, chicken fish, you get all the protein you need from you daily HEALTHY diet.
@Axxstrix - when u say "ths wo" i take it you dont ask for this one in specific but p90x in general.. if ur active, its not impossible, and since u gonna have to carry yourself, its gonna be tougher for you, so you'd probably go with the "easier" versions. then again since ur body isheavier they not gonna be easy.. as you mention a matter of weight.. if they put 100 lbs over me, id be 300, then i would have todo easy versions as well..
@Axxstrix - however. i dont know if you know math but. there is taking derivative, and there is taking integral.. for a reason, derivative is always taught before integration.. you wanna learn integration first.. i'd ask you, why? : ) are you in a rush for a reason? have to cach up w/olympics? or you just wanna get in shape? smarter to go step by step, so when you achieve something, you can move on, its more fun that way.
@Axxstrix hey man I just started doing this workout with a couple of my buddies there are about 6 of us doing it and two of the guys are like 250...just try to eat right man its an important aspect but even if you don't eat great i'm sure you'll still get some results..this workout is too hard not to get some kind of result
@Axxstrix nothing is going to help if u dont eat right, thats more important than working out itself..iv tried p90x myself, its a great workout..if u do the workouts according to plan and eat healthy i can promise you you'll have results.
hmm ive been doing these for two days straight now, my arms feel like noodles though, am i over doing something? or is that just the way it feels after?
@dramahoe - i always said it. my priority is the weights, and i can let form go a little to squeeze in a little more at the last reps. i have also happen to work with some bigger bodybuilding fellas at times, and they never corrected anything w/my form.. more muscle = more weight, simple as that.
@dramahoe - i always said it. my priority is the weights, and i can let form go a little to squeeze in a little more at the last reps. i have also happen to work with some bigger bodybuilding fellas at times, and they never needed to correct anything w/my form.. so, if pro guys are ok, im ok.. more muscle = more weight, simple as that.
@sliverrx7 - correct. very long legs bro.. either have to carry tons of weights for those, or just go with it.. i dont want big legs, cause my waist is small, then it's so uncomfortable for groin in jeans.. it is what it is : )
are you actually stong or just toned up. i used to be in power lifting and i wana do it to get ripped up more but i dont really want to lose my strenth
very good question. not many ppl ask like this, and actually i do ask this type, and if it's a confient guy, they can take it, otherwise they get offended.
personally, from powerlifting view, i dont think im high level strong. my talent is not that way. from endurance im not a marathon runner either. in rowing in 20 minute tests i didnt do as well. but an olympic rowing race is 6-7 minutes. in those i scored really high.. its the distribution and type of muscles and they way you can utilize it.
so, fitness, the wieghts i use they are not very very high.. but add to that, im 6'2''. for this height the muscles are elongated and they dont show very easily. say i do bicep curls with 60 lbs for now, 4x9 reps.. its definitely above avg, not the top level, but also it doesnt show much, and ppl wouldnt imagine i use 60 lbs for biceps, b/c i have friends who arent as tall and with lighter weights, their muscles show much better, and its not bdyfat% either, b/c my bf is low too.. many dimensions
good question... yes its like superset, but not, b/c there is like some breating space between sets. and depending on the wo, sometimes there is a 45 sec break between 2 rounds..
Oh yeah one last question bro, do you advice taking "CUTS" its pills you get from gnc to kill body fat. Should I take them or no? Your my new idol now lol Please advice, thank you:)
it depends... on what? : )) how much funds you have, how high is the possible benefit from such a pill is high in your rank as in u'd rather spend your money on another weakest link in ur system so the beenfit is maximized..
me? i dont use such stuff. vitamins, antioxidants, proteins... this is what i spend my money on. and equipment : ) im trying to renew those dumbells and someother stuff
I do P90x and to be honest I kinda missed a day or 2 here and there only when its recovery time and I hate yoga x but as you said one must trust the plan and go with it. I would like to thank you for inspiring me even more with something I already do! You look awesome I'm sure your a courge for alot of ppl who do P90X(like me) Thanks dude!
Yeah I get what you mean, well I'm a 6'1" guy I weigh about 154.6lbs I'm actually good but just those minor gut probs you know bro, those annoy me and I noticed when I do heavy weights the muscle sticks out and its got more shape but along with it I tend to find some fat so its not as great as I would want it to be.
Okay I have a question plz do explain: I want to be lean as you are but when it comes to lifting the weights how much lbs should i lift? I don't want to be huge so I'am afaird to pick up heavy but if I pick too light I don't get no burn. So plz advise the lbs I should be lifting to get muscle and be toned. Thank you.
mitz pics pics pics... email me your pics. there is an easy and a longer answer.. briefly: 1- size 8-10 reps. i do 80-12. 10-15 shreds. 15-25 lean looks, i stick to this one for legs, i dont want more size there, after my rowing for years and years.
2- as far as fitness and a common sense of good looks would go, id say it should also depend on your body type. say a shorter person has smaller muscle, so it would bulge out easier. taller you are the harder it is, so you can do more weights with less reps. i forgot the names but there are 3 body types. some ppl build muscle very fast. i knew some girls had huge calves simply by just jogging!!!
its not trivial answer, spend time thinking on it.
Ah yes the somatotypes. Ectomorph, Endomorph, and Mesomorph. Judging by how you look......you are a ecto/mesomorphic body type. What is it like to have abs? I personally am a Meso/Endomorph And im also a 208 lbs 6'2" guy so I will have bulgling fat and thick muscles....but to be as defined as you would probably be close to impossible. I do have some questions....How do you get rid of the intromuscular fat? I want my quads to be thick!
To beansemo : actually your going to have to do your workout leaning more to after mid-day, since mornings aren't always the best since you probably have not consumed breakfast(your source of energy). Nothing is worse then working out with no energy, other then skipping a day.
gain: you and i have the same approach. i like to workout in the late afternoon. i load up myself with all i eat and what not thru the day and hit it in the workout..
however, say arnold sch. likes to work out in the morning and he says, he likes to work when he's fully recovered, not tired thru the day.. and you see the how he was unbeatable in his class..
according to some research the best "time" to workout is like 2-4 pm... but that probably assumes some life style.. since every life style is different, times differ.
that is why i say for our level, nothing professional, home gym die hards, it is more important to go with whatever time is convenient, rather than trying to force your lifestyle into somethingelse..
personally, i dont enjoy working out in the morning. but when i had to, did i get poor results? no...
does P90X have any exercises for body parts other than "mirror muscles"? It seems your workouts are all focused on arms, chest, and abs....no stuff on legs or lower back
yes. there is a lot of core workouts (which involves not just abs but lower back aswell) and plyometrics which involves the legs. i have a friend who's verticle jump increased greatly do to the plyometrics workouts
hey, I have a question. How did you fill in the middle, upper chest. So you have that line in the center of your chest going all the way up to the collar bone? Like did you just happen to develop that way or was there an exercise that gave you that fullness in the middle, upper pecs? Or did you have that prior to p90x?
actually, planb's respose is correct. just keep on working working over time it'd happen. but... everybody has a different muscular structure or the way they are attached to the bones and all. say personal if u have specifically less in some part of the chest, u can target that, or prioritize in ur workout.. decline press is for lower, bench press is overall-middle, and incline is for upper..
personally i dont think i have done decline press more than a couple of sets ever in my life, and that was just for trying 2c.. and inclines would be less than 5% of regular bpress/pushup thru my life..
-shortone: every resistanceay is followed by a cardio day. no more than 3 resistance a week, maybe less. 1 yoga every week. at least one hard cardio a week. these some basic principles i follow. i design P90X grad programs within my team. email me to join! : )
u mean thru the week, i suppose. it doesnt matter bro.
i do a lot of cardios, and they hit lower body basically. but my cardios involve some rowing action and that hits back and upper too..
as a rule of thumb id say, after each upper they i follow with a cardio/lower day. and be careful if u work upper for second time in same week, then end of tha tweek , is the beginning of next one : ) so that may break the rule.. just be patient, give some time and work. consistency is my way to success.
These workouts are great fat loss. Way better than cardio alone because you get some muscle tone as well and when the fat is burned it looks great. I am into getting way bigger muscles naturally and this is definetely not the way to do it. To me this is like a version of circuit training which is very effective for fat loss. I can tell you one thing. 35 pounds of shoulder press will not build your shoulders guaranteed but it will make you lean because you are doing everything compound.
and try not to flare your arms when you do the lying triceps bring the arms closer and dont move the elbows, you will need alot lighter weight for that though.
nice video man, great effort...dont quit...its not easy to train home and alone like that, thats a good workout...and i see you try to do one more rep everytime, thats also good...its motivation.
so than it is ok to do chest shoulders and triceps. but the fact the there is no point to do shoulder after the 3rd day if ur doing legs and shoulders right? because if ur working ur chest your still working your shoulders right? so man oh man that will take at least 3hrs of workout. so what is your take on that? Thank you :)

so, fitness, the wieghts i use they are not very very high.. but add to that, im 6'2''. for this height the muscles are elongated and they dont show very easily. say i do bicep curls with 60 lbs for now, 4x9 reps.. its definitely above avg, not the top level, but also it doesnt show much, and ppl wouldnt imagine i use 60 lbs for biceps, b/c i have friends who arent as tall and with lighter weights, their muscles show much better, and its not bdyfat% either, b/c my bf is low too.. many dimensions

@popniggers getting ripped has nothing to do with losing strength, depends how ripped we are talking about

p90x workout is like a superset right? or you guys get a 30 sec break?
4806577005 2 years ago
good question... yes its like superset, but not, b/c there is like some breating space between sets. and depending on the wo, sometimes there is a 45 sec break between 2 rounds..

Oh yeah one last question bro, do you advice taking "CUTS" its pills you get from gnc to kill body fat. Should I take them or no? Your my new idol now lol Please advice, thank you:)
mitz2ful 2 years ago
it depends... on what? : )) how much funds you have, how high is the possible benefit from such a pill is high in your rank as in u'd rather spend your money on another weakest link in ur system so the beenfit is maximized..
me? i dont use such stuff. vitamins, antioxidants, proteins... this is what i spend my money on. and equipment : ) im trying to renew those dumbells and someother stuff
drtorqueP90XCoach 2 years ago
I do P90x and to be honest I kinda missed a day or 2 here and there only when its recovery time and I hate yoga x but as you said one must trust the plan and go with it. I would like to thank you for inspiring me even more with something I already do! You look awesome I'm sure your a courge for alot of ppl who do P90X(like me) Thanks dude!
mitz2ful 2 years ago
Yeah I get what you mean, well I'm a 6'1" guy I weigh about 154.6lbs I'm actually good but just those minor gut probs you know bro, those annoy me and I noticed when I do heavy weights the muscle sticks out and its got more shape but along with it I tend to find some fat so its not as great as I would want it to be.
mitz2ful 2 years ago
Okay I have a question plz do explain: I want to be lean as you are but when it comes to lifting the weights how much lbs should i lift? I don't want to be huge so I'am afaird to pick up heavy but if I pick too light I don't get no burn. So plz advise the lbs I should be lifting to get muscle and be toned. Thank you.
mitz2ful 2 years ago
mitz pics pics pics... email me your pics. there is an easy and a longer answer.. briefly: 1- size 8-10 reps. i do 80-12. 10-15 shreds. 15-25 lean looks, i stick to this one for legs, i dont want more size there, after my rowing for years and years.
drtorqueP90XCoach 2 years ago
2- as far as fitness and a common sense of good looks would go, id say it should also depend on your body type. say a shorter person has smaller muscle, so it would bulge out easier. taller you are the harder it is, so you can do more weights with less reps. i forgot the names but there are 3 body types. some ppl build muscle very fast. i knew some girls had huge calves simply by just jogging!!!
its not trivial answer, spend time thinking on it.
drtorqueP90XCoach 2 years ago
Ah yes the somatotypes. Ectomorph, Endomorph, and Mesomorph. Judging by how you look......you are a ecto/mesomorphic body type. What is it like to have abs? I personally am a Meso/Endomorph And im also a 208 lbs 6'2" guy so I will have bulgling fat and thick muscles....but to be as defined as you would probably be close to impossible. I do have some questions....How do you get rid of the intromuscular fat? I want my quads to be thick!
USAmartialartss 2 years ago
cardio. eat right, dats da only way to remove it beside surgery.
4806577005 2 years ago
Exactally. Strict diet and cadio to burn the fat. It will take some time depending on how much fat you have to burn.

Is it okay to do p90x in the morning...or should I do it in the evening?
beansemo 2 years ago
whiever is more convenient for you.. convenience is more important, so that you can continue with the program.. the worst thing is quitting..
drtorqueP90XCoach 2 years ago
To beansemo : actually your going to have to do your workout leaning more to after mid-day, since mornings aren't always the best since you probably have not consumed breakfast(your source of energy). Nothing is worse then working out with no energy, other then skipping a day.
gainispain 2 years ago
gain: you and i have the same approach. i like to workout in the late afternoon. i load up myself with all i eat and what not thru the day and hit it in the workout..
drtorqueP90XCoach 2 years ago
however, say arnold sch. likes to work out in the morning and he says, he likes to work when he's fully recovered, not tired thru the day.. and you see the how he was unbeatable in his class..
according to some research the best "time" to workout is like 2-4 pm... but that probably assumes some life style.. since every life style is different, times differ.
drtorqueP90XCoach 2 years ago
that is why i say for our level, nothing professional, home gym die hards, it is more important to go with whatever time is convenient, rather than trying to force your lifestyle into somethingelse..
personally, i dont enjoy working out in the morning. but when i had to, did i get poor results? no...
drtorqueP90XCoach 2 years ago
best way to do it bro
gainispain 2 years ago
hell yeah,, bring it!

Hey man, you should try doing shoulder on a different day to chest, you get a better workout on both.

lightninglover26 2 years ago
does P90X have any exercises for body parts other than "mirror muscles"? It seems your workouts are all focused on arms, chest, and abs....no stuff on legs or lower back
Shokeybutsi 2 years ago
yes. there is a lot of core workouts (which involves not just abs but lower back aswell) and plyometrics which involves the legs. i have a friend who's verticle jump increased greatly do to the plyometrics workouts

You move on to p90x plus or do it again.

yeonathon 2 years ago
hey, I have a question. How did you fill in the middle, upper chest. So you have that line in the center of your chest going all the way up to the collar bone? Like did you just happen to develop that way or was there an exercise that gave you that fullness in the middle, upper pecs? Or did you have that prior to p90x?
thirsten889 2 years ago
You develop it through working your chest hard.
planbthrasher 2 years ago
actually, planb's respose is correct. just keep on working working over time it'd happen. but... everybody has a different muscular structure or the way they are attached to the bones and all. say personal if u have specifically less in some part of the chest, u can target that, or prioritize in ur workout.. decline press is for lower, bench press is overall-middle, and incline is for upper..
drtorqueP90XCoach 2 years ago
personally i dont think i have done decline press more than a couple of sets ever in my life, and that was just for trying 2c.. and inclines would be less than 5% of regular bpress/pushup thru my life..
drtorqueP90XCoach 2 years ago
Hey doruk, I wanted to know whats the order you work out every day? legs-back-shoulder-chest yada yada.
So imwondering in what order do you workout, i recently started working out so I would like to know that.
Thanks

i have a long and short answer.
summarizing long one: my "current" program is different every week. i repeat same thing only once a month. and it consists of weekly bundles.
-however, why would u be interested in my "current" program?? if i were you id listen to what did i do until i get here, what is the shortest cut?..
drtorqueP90XCoach 2 years ago
-shortone: every resistanceay is followed by a cardio day. no more than 3 resistance a week, maybe less. 1 yoga every week. at least one hard cardio a week. these some basic principles i follow. i design P90X grad programs within my team. email me to join! : )
drtorqueP90XCoach 2 years ago
for some reason utube is problematic and cant see my response...
i have a long and a shot response.
but personally, if i were u, id be more interested in what did i do to get here, shortest cut, rather than what i do now, after i got here. : )
drtorqueP90XCoach 2 years ago
u mean thru the week, i suppose. it doesnt matter bro.
i do a lot of cardios, and they hit lower body basically. but my cardios involve some rowing action and that hits back and upper too..
as a rule of thumb id say, after each upper they i follow with a cardio/lower day. and be careful if u work upper for second time in same week, then end of tha tweek , is the beginning of next one : ) so that may break the rule.. just be patient, give some time and work. consistency is my way to success.

35 pounds of shoulder press will not build your shoulders guaranteed but it will make you lean because you are doing everything compound.
turaniko 2 years ago
and try not to flare your arms when you do the lying triceps bring the arms closer and dont move the elbows, you will need alot lighter weight for that though.
