Well... I get better frames with higher settings with a higher resolution (1920x1080), although I use non-oc 1.5gb gtx-580. I even have more than 30 fps when recording in 1080p, although I think u have it limited through fraps.

You can customize your loadouts in some missions in SP and MP.

It all depends how the mission was designed. A mission designer can even disable

crosshairs, 3rd person view......etc.

Mission designers can do virtually anything they like with Arma. the tools are available

and free.

thats what you've been playing. Install Arma 2 and it becomes "Combined Operations"

Buy Combined Operations [Arma 2 and Arrowhead] or Arma X: Aniversery edition [All versions of OFP/Arma].

Most servers run Combined Operations. Arma 2 and Arrowhead installed together.

Arma 2 is Europe. Arrowhead is Afghanistan like country.

Reinforcements is Arrowhead and the BAF, PMC DLC in one box.

Arma X edition has these also.

@MH5tube How much you have? I have 4GB on XP (detects just over 3GB, 32bit). The ARMA games won't ever have the kind of performance that you have on other typical FPS's because ARMA simulates everything, ballistics and all the AI on your guys and the enemy etc. It especially can get really low when you have very forested areas or look through a scope into a bush but that's how it is, it should still be playable.

@sirlag01 I got 3GB RAM and 1GB of VRAM. GTX 460.  And I get anywhere from just over 10-15fps to just under 30fps at any resolution.

@MH5tube It should be fine most of the time, it should only be really slow when you look into bushes or are surrounded by them. What about your performance on the desert map?

@sirlag01 I didn't give it enough time to know. I played the first couple missions of the campaign and then I played 2-3 multiplayer games. The performance was far less than acceptable, so I uninstalled it...

@MH5tube Sorry but a GTX 460 is not capable for the highest resolution. Also Arma 2 should be run with 4 GB and more of Ram.

VRAM is also pretty slow for graphic cards. Arma 2 isnt very unstable if you know how to configure it.

@MH5tube you must have a shitty ass computer, than, i got a GTX 460 and i get about a constant 25-30fps at a 720p rez. i got 8GB Ram quad 2.4ghz intel. deffenitly though gonna SLI another 460 in to see if i cant max up the rez and maintain the same gameplay.

@MH5tube well that is shitty if you only have 3, ArmA is a ram eater, you should have at least 4 and a 64 bit OS to bump it up even further. better hurry up and get one before sopa and pipa shut down all the torrent sites lol. like i said im running 8 gigs with a intel quad core and the 460 and the game just runs smooth as butter.

hell even 6 would suffice but at bare min you should have 4 man. seriously, especially if your running vista or 7, the os alone eats up about 1 gig of ram.

@MH5tube than all your background programs, so really your only running arma 2 at like 1-1.5GB of Ram, thats not nearly enough. you cant just buy a powerful processor and a good graphics card and expect to play games just like that without having the computer memory to support it all.

@MH5tube why a new computer??? dood dont waste uneeded cash, just get a 64 bit os, get like 1 stick of 4GB ram and your good. you dont need a i5 all it is another quad core with a higher ghz, you really wont notice a difference. again, it doesnt matter if you dont have the ram to back up your system, so its a nessesity anyways.

@MH5tube you cant just stick in two cards and sli it on any motherboard you are aware of that correct? I would honestly build a custome rig. its far cheaper and more effective. you need the right amount of power to SLI also a compatible Board. and again dont forget the ram, do not buy a prebuilt you'll be spending around 300+ more bucks than doing it yourself.

@MH5tube I actually have a somewhat small business of building custom pc's and doing upgrades for my friends and family that are, well not computer savey actually going to try and get my business licences to actually open up a computer service. so if you don't know and want to save some money, i could like guide you through what you need to do. in terms of building it, but also if you can read the instructions well than. its pretty much childs play.

@Shibidibo Nah, I know a guy that works for my father... he is very computer savvy. His most recent build (3-4 years ago) is actually on a server mobo. Get this: 4 way Crossfired ATi 4890s, 4 quad core processors, and 32gb RAM.

I think he's the guy.

This game has horrible performance! I bought Arma 2 and Operation Arrowhead via steam and i have between 25 and 60 fps with an i7-2600, 8gb ram and a gtx 580! So when the missions are in towns or citys its unplayable! And the best thing is i always get the same fps, no matter if i choose low or very high settings! So it is really really really really crap! Nice ideas but the end product is horrible.

does this card run smooth on 1080p? coz on the setting ur running 1440x sths for the actual 3d rendering. i heard this game have some of the worst performance optimisation, even average good pcs cant play it smoothly at norma settings. im not sure if i should buy a single card like the gtx580 or a sli/xfire cards since i want to play new games smooth on 1080hd with high/ultra graphics.
