What about Bitterman, he's the guy you play in Quake 2 and ID software wrote a arena background on how he got to the arenas, he was found in a space pod barely alive so they took him to strogg prison and did massive experiments on him and he became a strogg weapon but with a will of his own, he got free and killed the strogg scientists and just as he was about to kill the last one he got sent to quake arena

I don't know about walrunning, but you can use your plasma rifle to lever yourself when facing a wall.

/devmap q3dm6 <--- for example. I did this at pillars area. jump to armor and go to the wall. almost at the ledge.

take the plasma gun

aim at the corner (the 90 degree angle between wall and ground)

jump and start shooting while strafing sideways
