This is fuckin awesome man. I have FM8 and z3ta+ myself, and I love FM8. All I can do with z3ta+ though, is playing the presets, so thank u for showing me this. Even though ur playin is not proffesional, the result is awesome, and I'd love to make music with u. Unfortunateley I can only handle software. (my keyboard playing sucks). Anyway, what kinda keyboard can connect to a software synth, and what does such a thing cost? (just the cheapest one ) :P
Thanks for the comment, actually you can use any keyboard with midi out, but you will need midi in on your PC (A good soundcard may come with midi in, you will also need some small tweaking for making it work). But however, my keyboard is USB (just driver installation was needed), its a Radium49 from M-audio. Not sure if they manufacture them anymore. Long time I don't make music, but if you want, send me a message and we'll see. Laters
I think the software DAW FL studio that I use comes with some sort of MIDI in, but I dunno how to check wether a keyboard has MIDI out... That'll probably be one of the things that is said in the description of the keyboard right?
Yeah, you just could check the back of the keyboard to see if it says midi out. Most also have midi in. You would need the same connection on your PC too (you can check your sound card, or buy a USB to Midi adapter). The concept is just like a QWERTY PC keyboard, but instead of letter keys, it has musical note keys ;-). Having an USB keyboard would eliminate all the hassle, but you might have problems with future operative systems. My M-audio for example, is not compatible with 64bit Windows.
In the end, it doesn't matter if your playing technique is standing on your head and slapping your ass. All that matters is the sound/tone produced - and yours sounds damn fine to me.
lol, thanks for the comment! however, real keyboard players can play all that with one hand I think. I learned to play with 4 fingers, 2 of each hand, and then I got used to it, so everything I play its fast, but the cost is that I have to use both hands, which makes me loose control of the pitch and modulation wheels. Maybe I can correct that in the future... who knows
yes, everything runs under windows in this case. I could use the mouse pointer to play if I wanted, but I don't guarantee such result ;-). Thanks for the comment
to me its just ImpOSCar, made by gmedia music. you can easely find it on the web. I believe I used a demo at that time, I have like 50 FM mags and Computer music, but as I'm not doing music anymore I can't really remember. Maybe I will return to the keyboard someday...
haha the only scale a I learnt, the first white key, then the 2 blacks on the right of it, then the 4th and 5th white keys and the last 2 blacks. I don't even know if that's a chord or what. But in my beginning, I learnt how to play jeroen tel's robocop 3 tune from the amiga, that was easy because my old keyboard had the notes on the keys, and the amiga mod files had those notes internally. they were like A, B, C, D, F, G and sharps.
haha! and what about the first white, the second black, the fourth white and the last black? Another one in the video: the first white, the second black, the fifth white and the fourth black
Thank you for some nice solos and demonstrations of several VSTs, especially the ones I do not have. I have been considering buying z3ta and it is very helpful to hear something that is not off the developer's web site. I would like to suggest that in the future you try recording with less reverb, especially if you are making a demo of presets. Personally, it tends to tire my ear after a while and make it more difficult for me to hear the finer details of the sound.
Thanks for the comment. The video was made in a rush as I don't own a camera, and I didn't know how to route the sound in FL studio to record (I know that now btw). Hi freqs and resonance are annoying but the idea of the video is to show some sounds and use the beautiful camera at least once ;-)
The name of each VST is in the subtitle of the video, just google each one and check the procedence in their official website, if that is what you need. BTW the text language in each plugin is english.
check out the fabfilter pugins ...not very complex ..but the best analogue modeled filters I have ever heard ..download the demo ..fabfilter twin...you won' t regret it ..
I love the way you play that thing... Ive been pissing about on my novation k-station for years now but never got that good. Maybe it would pay for me to learn how to play properly eh?? I love the piano parts you played.. I have a soft spot for pianos. Nice work man- you've impreseed me for one!!
yes, but some are demos, I also have like 30 numbers of Future Music magazine which comes with DVDs with thousands of samples and softies, so I have enoguh cool material for taping If I ever get the camera again. My next purchase would be Arturia's Prophet VS for sure, that thing need to be taped!
very nice mate. some decent solo;s there! what host you running? is z3ta your favourite? i love the 'jp through a flanger' preset with an antares filter on it. with an intricate filter pattern i can get some really cool effects like this!
Thanks for the comment :D I use FL studio 6, its a beast, I also compose my tunes there (hopefully I will post videos with my tunes someday... I suppose) It can be hard to use it the first times, but after you get it in, you are done. I hope someday they add multiprocessor support, since my tunes are a little bit too complex with plenty of plugins and effects running at the same time
Multi-core processing could be particularly good implemented in a soft studio. Assigning effects racks, synthesisers and the mixer to separate cores would surely make it utilise more of the chip. good things to come I hope. TFLop computing on an Intel 80 Core in 2011...what will that do to my DAW!!!
yes, and I love it! however, I know that the real sax has less notes to play... If someday I want to simulate the real saxo, then I should study it a bit before soloing... Thanks for the comment :D
Thanks, yeah, the problem in sound is that I recorded it with the built in mic of the sony camera, so its crappy, the reverbs sound much better in live of course.
awesome!

Good demo, but would have been even better if you'd just used a short delay on the sounds, rather than that empty arena reverb.
BTW, best soft synth IMHO to have appeared since you posted this is LennarDigital's Sylenth 1.
Tried it yet?
