Wake up to what? The world I don't think is in the grip of pain and suffering, with all due respect.....I don't see pain and suffering, I see the illusion of pain and suffering and it's ok. The sweetness of the opening of the eyes, as you say, will be sweet because of the sleep. To be fully awakened is not a need we must all achieve, it is an inevidable truth we shall all experience and this journey to awakening is the blessing of being. It is sacred in and of itself.

just as the grass feeds the animals, the animals in turn feed a man. i see no wrong in this, can you elaborate on your perspective?

why do we feel hesitant to eat our cat, dog or another human- -perhaps we recognize the pain so they are off our eating plate. as humans, we are gifted with the higher conscious ability to know oneness and evolve- so we choose not to cause harm in others or kill. being vegetarian is healthy and on the path to light and love it makes sense to be compassionate to all living.

it is the waking up to oneness that comes as blessings to know and choose.
