  • Great video thanks for sharing !

  • @tenor2792

Thank you! Do you have a favorite brand?

  • As a former chef i must say i make my own most of the time. I usually marinade the meat for up to 24 hrs in the sauce to get the best result.

But if I for some reason should buy it, i would buy the Jack Daniels BBQ sauce. It is sweet with a nice Bourbon twist to it. (A born and raised Swedish guy living in Pennsylvania (For the research))

    Happy BBQing.

  • @TheRedneckSwede

Many thanks for your input. I appreciate the tips! I will have to try the JD sauce; sounds yummy! :)

  • Sweet Baby Ray's Sweet ’n Spicy

  • @FineSensibilities

Seems to be a popular one...I will have to try this one for sure! Thanks for watching and for your comments! :)

  • We live in Minnesota...I actually prefer the Sweet Baby Rays. My husband bought some Famous Dave's and it was the bold and spicy (I hated it), and went back to Sweet Baby Rays.... I do like Famous Dave's less spicy but Sweet Baby Ray's is my all time favorite...i just like it's flavor.

  • @kvalle1

Gotta be the Sweet Baby Ray's! haha

Thank you so much for taking the time to watch and comment! :)

  • we love Hunts and there is a local meat market and the owner's wife makes an AMAZING barbeque sauce and sells it there, we love love love it, it's perfect, very tasty, but not too hot, kids tend not to like spicy, at least my kids, so tasty and not too hot. Great video by the way, with summer coming up, maybe we can all learn from ea. other, we're on the East Coast by the way of the US (tristate area).

  • @mlpgrow123

Thank you for your great comments! I know that a lot of people don't care for the spicy sauces, especially the kids. I agree, some of the local, homemade sauces are great!

  • Awesome job! thumbs up!

  • @luv6pup

Thanks!! Do you have a favorite sauce?

  • @YourVideoOfTheWeek i agree !!!!! My daddy used to say then you come to the table, shut your mouth and eat. I agree, that when a great meal is at the table, it is rude to eat and talk: concentrate on the hard work that was put into the meal, and appreciate it, eat it. The only sounds at the table should be eating quietly, the clink of silverware and a drinking glass placed back after a drink was taken. Good food deserves respect. ( Oh sheesh,i sound like I'm OCD'ing or something... lol )

  • well, I don't remember much my dad bbq'ing when I was a kid: Daddy was a Master chef, and mom was a chef, so bbq wasn't a priority. Today, I have a few bbq book, sbecause my huuby thinks he is Elvis Grillpresley, and loves to grill. But my fave bbq sauce isn't a sauce, it is a marinade: Budweiser lemon Herb marinade. I love to get a package when the holidays roll around and now they have it all year round, and so I get the Budweiser BBQ sauces, some chicken and Go To Town !!! Yum !

  • @mintgumdropz1

Hello to you! :) Ooh, I will definitely have to find this and try it out. Golly, I'm getting so many tips for things to try out! Gonna gain 20 pounds from all the eating I'm going to have to do! LOL

Thanks for commenting and have a great day! :))

  • nice clip

  • @LinedanceOpiAndy

Many thanks! Do you have a favorite sauce you like to use?

  • So interesting and informative video, thanks for sharing.

  • @ALBINOSULTIMATECATS1

Thank you for your kind response! Do you like BBQ sauce? Have a favorite, perhaps?

  • i love JR's Barbeque Sauce flavor if you dont know who jim ross is he's the voice of wwe raw :)

  • @chrisairwolf1

No, I didn't know who he was, but thank you so much for commenting and letting me know! I will have to find this sauce and try it. :)

  • @YourVideoOfTheWeek

    I totally agree! :))

  • Sweet Baby Ray's Honey Barbeque Sauce flavor... I've lived in the Northern and Southern parts of the Eastern Coast of U.S. ~~Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ Team Shelby Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ~~

  • @4110fearnot hmm, I love the honey mustard (dipping) sauce and it does really great on chicken,to grill, too. My mom used to use cola, ( she used Pepsi,i muuuch prefer Coke) to use in cheap bbq sauce. I thought I was eating gourmet, till I saw her throw the empty can away. ;) To this day,I still use Coke to marinade...

  • @4110fearnot

Another Sweet Baby Ray's fan! :) Thank you so much for watching and commenting! Much appreciated!

  • i do love the way your hair is

well i do a video response to this dear

    hugs kisses

  • @jasminequeentagaholi

Yay! I'm happy to have a video response!

Thanks for the hair compliment...I kind of like it shorter now. :))

  • @spirit2dance I liked your hair better when it was longer but I'm a guy so I'm probably like most other guys...... we love hair, the longer the better.

I might have more hair then you do now...LOL

Maybe I will comb my hair frontward and then film it and post it on a video.

Anyway, that is just my opinion and just like my Grandma Macil (GRHS) used to say "opinions are like a**holes, everybody has one".....LOL

I miss my Grandma Macil (1896-1992), she was so wise.

    Thanks hun :)

    Indy

  • @ImHiYrStnd

Yeah, my hubby is the same, but he's coming around to see how the short hair can be cute, too...LOL Ha!!! Yes, you might have more hair than I do...

Oh god no, don't do "The Donald" on me!! I couldn't handle that!

My Meemaw and Pawpaw used to say the same thing about opinions...hehehehe

I sure do miss mine, too.

    Thanks backatcha!! xoxoxo

  • @spirit2dance Ok, call me stupid, what is "The Donald"??

I was just going to flip it foward to show the length of my hair from the root to the tip.

If you are referring to Donald Trump (Diane just told me), I do not know anything about that guy except that he is an arrogant shithead. I don't watch him NONE!

I would not put you through that with some kind of "comb over"

The way I would demonstrate how long my hair is, I would look like cousin It from the Addams Family....LOL

    Indy

  • @ImHiYrStnd

LMAO!!! Yes, I meant Donald Trump...and thank god you think he's a shithead...that's my opinion, too! hahahaha!!

I like Cousin It much better... :)))))))

  • I was once watching a TV show called "How It's Made" and they were at the Kraft factory making of all things......BB Que sauce.

I bought some and liked it so the brand name is Kraft but it MUST be the Hickory Smoke flavor as it just adds something to whatever meat I am cooking.

I also add Sue Bee Honey, a pinch of A-1 sauce and a couple tabelspoons of Wortishire sauce to my marinades. Then I sprinkle various spices in the marinade and spread it over the meat.

    Yum! Yum!

    Now I'm hungry!

    Indy

  • @ImHiYrStnd

LOL...yep, I get hungry, too, when I think about BBQ!

Okay, so you like smokey, sweet and tangy sauce...right? ;)

Is that what most people in your area prefer?

    Thanks for your comments! :))

  • @spirit2dance I'm assuming you know I live in the midwest (Indiana), but I'm not sure what the "trends" are concerning what the midwest region likes. I believe my tastes are unique since I don't like just BBQ sauce on my meat. I like to make a marinade for cooking with several different ingredients. I do not like the tangy sauce, I like the hickory smoke flavor.

    Sorry I coulkdn't help more.

  • @ImHiYrStnd

Hehe, yes, I know you live in Indiana...perhaps you'd be surprised to know how many people doctor their bottled sauce and also use marinades. You're not alone!! LOL

But, to clarify, do you mix your hickory BBQ sauce with all those other ingredients and use that concoction as your marinade, or do you add the BBQ sauce at the end when the meat is almost done? Also, do you use the BBQ sauce as a dipping sauce?

Sorry for all the questions...just trying to be thorough. ;)

  • @spirit2dance Part 1.)

Steph, you are one of my very best friends on YT..... you can ask me as many questions as you want and about anything, that's what friends are for. PLEASE do not be sorry, not even a little.

Now, let's see..... I mix the BBQ sauce with all of my ingredients at the beginning, spread it over the meat.

Then about halfway, I add the 2nd coat of the marinade after flipping the meat over.

Then when the meat is done, I will add "specific" ingredients to my meat.

  • @ImHiYrStnd

Yay! I'm glad you don't mind my nosey-ness! LOL

Question: do you find that burning isn't an issue because you've mixed the sauce with all your other ingredients? Do you use beer (or something else, like cola or root beer) to thin it out, or is the sauce/marinade not thick to begin with?

  • @spirit2dance Part 1.)

Answer: Burning is never an issue because when I make my marinade, some of the ingredients I use are just like water (the Worcestershire sauce for example) makes it thin enough to be thin at the beginning.

Also, because I have no teeth currently (maybe someday :), my meats have to be tender so if a receipt calls for meat to be cooked at 350 degrees for an hour let's say, I will start my meat out at 250 degrees for that hour.

  • @ImHiYrStnd

I love Worcestershire sauce and use it for so many things...I don't know if many people realize how versatile it is...but there ya are...

I suspected your marinade was thin otherwise you'd have a goopy, burnt mess, and I can't imagine someone of your caliber to allow that to happen! hehe :)) xoxo

  • @spirit2dance Yeah, it really amazes me the numbers of folks who do not realize the versitility of Worcestershire sauce. My Dad (GRHS) was a cook for nearly 30 years and I watched him.

I wish that I would have started watching him earlier and took notes.

Some of his dishes were legendary and I have tried to emulate some of his recipes without sucess.

Oh, they taste good all right, but just not of his stature.

I will NEVER equal his Oyster Dressing he made. Made Thanksgiving sooooooo unique!

  • @ImHiYrStnd

You sound like me with my Grandma...she made a bitchin' oyster dressing, too...why the hell didn't I pay attention?????

  • @spirit2dance Probably for the same reason I didn't pay attention to my Dad's recipe.

I was young and dumb..... Wish I could go back in time.

  • @spirit2dance Part 2.)

Then I bump up the temperature to 275 degrees for 30 minutes, then at 300 degrees for 15 minutes, then at the recommended temperature of 350 degrees for another 15 to 20 minutes checking the center of the meat to make sure it is COMPLETELY done. Although this method takes a lot longer, my meats are "fall off the bone" tender and sometimes do not even need a knife to cut it !!!

This is also why I have to add more marinade halfway through to keep it thin.

    Hugs (((Steph)))

  • @ImHiYrStnd

Boy oh boy, you sure are giving me the royal treatment with the info! Thank you! I can imagine that your meats would be super tender, given the way you cook them! Can I come eat with you? LOL

  • @spirit2dance LOL... I was hoping you would ask.

Since you are coming states side, pop on in and I'll make your mouth water :)

  • @ImHiYrStnd

Hey, just so you know, if I come, then you'd also have a crew of about 10 coming along...LOL

  • @spirit2dance Hmmmmmmm....

Sounds like I would need to use both burners and light both sides on the Coleman grill.

I know about you and hubby, who would be the other eight people?

Also, will you be able to access YouTube while stateside??

You and your hubby (I don't know his name) travel alot or is it my imagination?

  • @ImHiYrStnd

    LOL!!

Well, it would also be my mom, my sister and her hubby plus 3 kids, my brother and my cousin...but I forgot about his family, which would add 4 more to the total! So you might need another grill! Hahahahaha!!!

Seriously, though, Yes, I will have access to a computer...

My hubby's name is Francois. Yep, French...he's not French, though. His parents just liked the name. hehe

Yes, we travel quite a bit.

  • @spirit2dance I told you that you can ask me as much as you want and as often as you want.

I can gab with the best of em....LMAO

Besides I love talking with you even if you are thousands of miles away.

I'm sure if I needed some information about something, as my friend, you would give me a complete answerr with all of the information I needed.

    That's what friends do.... right?

You need anything else, let me know, I actually appreciate your trust in me. That means a lot :)))

    Indy

  • @ImHiYrStnd

Okay, I understand fully. I will not say "sorry" anymore...thank you!! :)))

  • @spirit2dance Part 2.)

For example, If I'm cooking Angus (I NEVER buy any meat but the very best) beef burgers, I will do my marinade mix as described earlier at the beginning and midway through and then at the end, I will add some more A-1 or Kraft Hickory smoke BBQ sauce, it depends on what I'm in the mood for.

When cooking chicken, same cooking proceedure and then when eating, I might add more Kraft Hickory Smoke BBQ sauce or sometimes, I use Kraft Creamy Ranch Salad Dressing for dipping.

  • @ImHiYrStnd

I agree that you should use the best cut of meat possible, even if it means you buy less of it.

  • @spirit2dance LOL....I NEVER buy less meat, no matter the cost. I will NOT cut corners when it comes to cooking, whatver it is OR the type of marinade I use.

I find that cheaper cuts of meat (or whatever I'm cooking) and the ingredients that accompany it, MUST be of the highest quality.

  • @ImHiYrStnd

    Okay, I getcha...hell, I'm the same way... l;)))

  • @spirit2dance Part 3.)

When cooking Pork (chops, Ribs, ETC....), I use the same cooking methods as described earlier but when eating, this is when I find the BBQ sauce gets used for "dipping" by far the most, especially if I'm cooking for a large crowd (family mgatherings, sporting event, ETC...). To me, it seems that Pork and BBQ sauce go hand in hand. I'm really glad you asked me this question as I love to cook and eat and get enjoyment watching others enjoy my sucess.

  • @ImHiYrStnd

I also love to cook and enjoy it when people react positively to what I make for them! It's a nice feeling to know you're making people happy. :))

  • @spirit2dance Part 4.)

When I make my marinade, that will also vary depending on what I'm cooking (beef, chicken, pork, even fish gets a marinade) and as stated earlier, the mood, the event and who is eating my cooking will vary as to how I prepare my meats before and after cooking.

If you trust me (I'm not looney..LOL), PM me your address (or someplace you can be sent something) and I will send you a bottle of Kraft Hickory Smoked BBQ sauce (In case you can't get it where you live)?

    Indy

  • @ImHiYrStnd

THANK YOU for such a detailed response! That's what I was hoping for! :) All this info will come to good use for me.

I plan on being in the states very soon, and am almost 100% positive that I can find the brand you are speaking of. I remember my mom mentioning it.

I plan on doing some taste-testing research... :))

  • @spirit2dance If you are coming to the states very soon, is there any chance that you will be in the midwest on your stateside tour?./...LOL

Also, does this mean that you will be off of YouTube AGAIN for weeks?

You know I miss you when you are not around on YT, just thought you should know.

If you come to Indianapolis, look us up (I will provide you all of the information you need to see us if you are in the area). Would love to meet your hubby too :)

    Indy

  • @ImHiYrStnd

Well, my visit is to be with my family and that's in Missouri, so at the moment, we are not planning on visiting Indiana...

I am going to TRY not to be away for so long, though...maybe I can still do some vlogs and tags! I will just have to see how it works out. But, I don't want to be away for weeks at a time, no...

Anyhow, thanks for the generous offer...

  • @spirit2dance Are you going to be anywhere near Branson or Sikeston, Missouri?

There is a restaurant my wife and I eat at in Branson called Byron's and it's cool, you can throw the peanut shells right on the floor (back when I had teeth....LOL !!!

The other restaurant (I can't think of the name right now), the waiters actually throw the dinner rolls to you!!The food in both is excellent, if you find time, go there, you won't be disappointed.

Bring a camcorder, record your trip and upload it:)

  • @ImHiYrStnd

I know of these places you speak, but can't remember the name of that one with the flying rolls for the life of me! We were going to go to that one last year but the wait was unbelievable, so we went somewhere else. Bummer...maybe we'll make the trek to the flying rolls place this time...although, it's out of the way...we're closer to St. Louis than Branson.

  • masterpiece and stubbs . i live in central texas

  • @TheMysterygirl34

Thanks for watching and for your comment! I have checked out Stubbs' website...do you use any particular version of their sauces and/or rubs, marinades, etc?

  • i live in western nc, bulls eye has a great flavor, and i could eat it on anything

  • @truckingsonofagun

Thanks for your answer! I checked the Bulls Eye website and saw that they have several regional flavors; do you use the Carolina Style?

  • @spirit2dance i use the one that says original

  • @truckingsonofagun

Thanks for clarifying that for me! :)

  • i love bulls eye, i think its the best
