Before the haters start, I can squat 495 5 times (with upper leg parallel to the ground). I am not close to being the strongest guy, but I am stronger than most.

  • @mikenyesi123 and the hodgetwins...for everyday guys, do know alot, but they even admit there leg days are very limited due to their back issues, the fact that they praise the leg press should explain enough, the leg press is a shit exercise and should not be anymore than a supplemental lift in a leg day, because it transcends to nothing, its a fixed movement and its rough on your knees, why is it that at some gyms you can leg press 800..but at others you can do only 400? need i say more?

  • @psufball1 dude you can build some serious mass on the leg press....i dont know who told you that. and your so wrong about your legs being like your chest and tricep muscles that makes absolutly no sense. leg muscles are the biggest muscles in your body and your walking on them all day you need lots of reps with a good weight to make them grow. doing lets say under 10 may help you build up strength but its not gonna help build mass...look it up homie. before u talk shit

  • @mikenyesi123 Actually there is some sense in different muscle groups being different. There are several types of muscle fiber; they specialize in endurance, max force and a combination of two. However, that doesn't mean that the endurance fibers always end up in legs. Take a look at 100m sprinters. Their legs don't seem to be specialized in endurance. Also, from my own experience: I've never squatted more than 5 reps in my work sets, yet my legs are better developed than most of my body.

  • @mikenyesi123 @mikenyesi123 high reps have a place, certainly but if you think that 20 rep squats are what will put the "muscle" on ur legs... then god bless you my friend, you need to change it up... high reps at times, low reps at times, at times you should mix and match, and do yourself a favor and dont listen to everything the hodge twins say, they have some AWESOME advice, especially kids and helpign kids (taking a stab that you are as well) to know that supplements are not needed.

  • @mikenyesi123 but they are way too conservative and a times it becomes hazy advice with there stance on deadlifts, you're taking advice from people that say not lifting legs has no pronounced effect on the upperbody, when in reality your body can only get so muscular and the body can only produce so much growh hormone when you neglect massive compound movements like squats and deadlifts
