I think that is great that you correct some misconceptions in that portion of the Zeitgeist film, and maybe he had some bad sources, but whether or not Jesus existed is almost irrelevant. Im hearing the word "logic" a lot in these "zeitgeist debunked" videos. They claim to use logic & facts from "reliable sources' to debunk zeitgeist claims but none of them provide any scientific facts that show any of these religions & there beliefs to be true. Can i get any proof that the claims of the bible are true? The over all message of the zeitgeist is peace & abundance for ALL earths people. Historically accurate or not the message is a good one.

One problem I find with your "debunking" is that all the religious examples you're giving have multiple versions. Sure what you're giving "debunks" the zeitgeist views on religion, but maybe there are versions you haven't seen. I think that is great that you correct some misconceptions in that portion of the Zeitgeist film, and maybe he had some bad sources, but whether or not Jesus existed is almost irrelevant. Just the fact that mankind has made up so many irrational myths surrounding our origin tells us something about the mentality at the time. Jesus is so misunderstood. Jesus would probably have agreed with the zeitgeist movies about the monetary system that is for sure.

I want to point one thing out to you - Zeitgeist is not JUST about religion, that is just one of many issues the movement addresses. And none of the morbid details you dwell upon matter - it's not about trying to debunk religion, it's addressing the concept that religion was made up and that religion does more harm than good. That's it. The core focus of the movement is on the social problems of the world - ie: war, poverty, pollution, corruption etc. - religion is just one of them.

so zeitgeist is making up lies with no sources- but where are your sources? i am holding in my hands right now the book by Edith Hamilton, "Mythology", She is a very respected and famous historian of greek mythology, and this book is a highly respected and sighted as factual. I can tell you right now, that everything you just said about dionysus is a LIE- what zeitgeist said about Dionysus is not only correct- famous well known and respected scholars say so too.

I'm sure you'd be hard-pressed to name a single widely respected modern (or at least living) scholar that supports your specific claim; not that Dionysus and Christ share features such as fitting the "dying god" archetype or transubstantiation, but that Dionysus was used as a model for the New Testament savior.

Im hearing the word "logic" a lot in these "zeitgeist debunked" videos. They claim to use logic & facts from "reliable sources' to debunk zeitgeist claims but none of them provide any scientific facts that show any of these religions & there beliefs to be true. Can i get any proof that the claims of the bible are true? The over all message of the zeitgeist is peace & abundance for ALL earths people. Historically accurate or not the message is a good one.

One problem I find with your "debunking" is that all the religious examples you're giving have multiple versions. Sure what you're giving "debunks" the zeitgeist views on religion, but maybe there are versions you haven't seen. Before the Mithra part, you said "anything to make a few dollars", while I'm sure you noticed that the zeitgeist movie is free to view online. More importantly, you seem to only be focused on the part about religion, which wasn't the main point in the zeitgeist movie.

1. HOW can anyone base his beliefs on a product (scripture) of a time during which people had very low reasoning and understanding ability of the things around them (read earth is flat land floating in water and hanging stars from an inverted bowl of sky)? Haven't we come a long way from 1st century by figuring out the relation of various things and their interactions in nature and space? If we chose to not star-gaze, we would still be believing earth is flat among many other things.

OK let's be clear. This is not SCIENCE. This is scholarly research. Hence there are FEW "absolute certainties". One scholar may insist that X is "true" but all this means is that his research supports that view. And that research might be incomplete or biased! It takes a brave scholar to show balance. Neither side of this argument has "all" the facts. But one point in favor of this film: it at least cites scholarly sources. But it's not above glossing over certain inconvenient facts...

Just for your information, even though I know it's a year to late, "dinosaur," is a fairly new word, when the Bible was translated into english during the 1600's the word "dinosaur," was not a word, in fact the word "dinosaur," first appears over 200 years later. More than likely in the Bible they would have refered to them as "dragons," "behemoth," "leviathan," and various other similar words.

I do not see how taking God and Christianity away will improve anything, only worsens. All our laws have been based off it so how could deconstructing it solve anything? there is a mechanism in humans which has us feel wonderful and excited and satisfied when we momentarily believe that we have discovered a hidden truth or uncovered lies. its called self righteousness. many unscrupulous people profit from it and/or feed their own by presenting their "proof" to others.
