The Thylacine was wiped out because it endangered livestock and it is something that annoys me, because it was native to the country and was a beautiful animal.

I know that doesn't mean a lot in other countries, but Australia's ecosystem has been separate from the rest of the worlds for millions of years. So when an introduced species such as camels or rabbits increase in population to a point where they're destroying native ecosystems, something must be done.

It is not sufficient cause to produce the enormous amount of animal cruelty involved in the camel holocaust. Millions have been made on this topic while a simple fence would solve the problem. If Africans can fence out elephants from townships to prevent their slaughter we can easily fence out camels.Unfortunately the failed policies of the past continue.

The circumstance with these camels however is quite different. They are introduced and don't belong here, and are putting the life of many NATIVE species of Australia at risk. The native animals shouldn't have to suffer because of an introduced pest should they?

Camels being soft hooved caused less damage than the 90 million cattle and 50 million sheep. You still haven't addressed the cruelty aspects which mean the perpetrators families are at significant risk as well. Study the subject before plunging in, or you'll look as silly as the original poster.

GG is largely symbolic, but they do have undeclared powers e.g. they may refuse to give legislation ascent, and one has dismissed a PM, but the exercise of those powers would likely be one of your last acts as GG. GG are selected by the PM and a PM with the numbers can replace the GG at a whim. The "blame" goes back to Environment minister Peter Garrett, former lead singer of Midnight Oil.

I think in regards to the americans culling themselves with guns, is no different to the many who died in our own Aussie culls like the childers arson attack, or the family of five who was bludgend to death recently. Aust does have its own human cullers, just like the father who killed his 3 kids on fathers day. America has more mass killing cos of the social problems & obvoiusly more people live there. 303 million as opposed to 21 million, thus more chance of a mental case to cull there own.

When you say no "need" its like me saying theres no need for a 4WD in sydney cos i dont like nor have any interest in them. People like myself apparantly had NO NEED for pump action shotguns pryer to 1996 either, though the majority of legal & responsible gunowners had one, go figure. People in america have a right to self defence, & utalise this right to also use guns for sporting & conservation purposes like hear in australia. Though it sadens me to see that the media is interwining culling with a mass murder, i blame the media for over exaduation of the truth. Selling guns over the counter still happens hear to if your licenced, just not the same types of guns. People dont legaly buy guns no matter the type cos they have no need for one either, everyone has individual needs.
