They were bred for decoys so that the predators would attack them instead of the herd! I have see them many times and they appear to be very happy. However there are many breeder now that love the goats. I think I read where there were millions of them now. They are pretty much like any other goat except fort he muscle lock up happens when frightened or excited. Some faint at feeding time.
it ain't a natural instinct its a fucking gene you asshat kid! most goats run. these goats have been used as decoys so predators target them instead of the main group. its a gene that can be found and its only in these goats. make sure you understand the basics before you speak you little bitch.
They're great animals to have when you have a large herd. So that way if a predator comes along, the "fainting goat" gets eaten and not the more valuable animals in the herd.

they're not fainting! this so-called goat herder hasn't a clue.
its a defence mechanism, a natural instinct that when they're startled, they stand still or 'play dead' so they're 'predator' won't attack them!!
typical fucking Americans making a mountain out of a molehill!!!

And do our NATURAL GENES, not make us do NATURAL things in everyday life (consiously, sub-consiously/instinct)?
And if these goats are "decoys" of the main group then explain to me why ALL these stupid fucking goats are doing it then!!!!
And who the fuck made you professor? George W Bush?

You dont even get your facts right before speaking -_-
Their muscles stiffen for around 10 seconds when they are startled due to genetic disorder.
Decoy my foot. Start reading up books before u call anybody bitch.

Some more than others.
I'd rather a $50 goat get eaten than a market Boer that could be worth around $300.
