One of my besy ever albums still to this day. I listen to it now on Mp3 in the car!
Reminds me ho immature I was back in 1990 when I let the best oppo of my life go by with a French Lady who I wish was my wife now. ( I taped the album for her). Regrets I've had a few but then again too few to mention ;-)
It's Ashley Horner, a.k.a."the live member". He chose to concentrate on his own band, Edsel Auctioneer, at the end of 1990, so Pale Saints recruited Meriel Barham.
Awesome album. Vinyl version came with three free large postcards of extended sleeve artwork, these were however labelled as tea towels. There's 4ad for you.
Great video, this is the one that turned me on to the Pale Saints back in June 1990. The animals in captivity befit the song, and the mood I was in back then as an angry young high school senior. The album's fantastic, although I need to get a new one (bought the cassette back then as I was poor and it was an expensive 4AD import) since my brother has probably wrecked my original one.
Unfortunately, You Tube is eating up my free time as I surf back 15 years!
This 4AD album came out (in the USA) my senior year of high school, and perfectly befitted my mood. As soon as I saw this video (c. June 1990) I had to get it! I need to re-buy the album (it was a tape when I had it) as my brother has probably killed it.
Note the imagery of animals in captivity, not unlike being trapped in drudgery and routine. That's how the song touched me back when I was an angry, lonely young man!

this song is called "Time Thief," but it's not the album version, it's the version from their Peel Sessions record.

Ich liebe dieses Lied. Habs 1990 von nem Schul-Kumpel aufgenommen bekommen und bin seitdem begeistert von der Band.
