  • I own a 1098r myself. 2008. I love it. I also own a S model but I admit the S is much easier to ride. I mean the gearing needs to be changed or something, its really just built for freeways and higher speed riding. Amazing!

  • damn hot !!! :)))

    great sound of termix :))))

  • is it dual seat?

  • gorgeous machine...I just got me an 07' 1098s with 1700 miles on it for 12k dollars cash. Rode it 900 miles one way to San Francisco and back in a week after having it for 10 days, and I cannot get off this thing. Such a beautiful bike and so much fun :)

    Great video!

There are motorcylces, and then there are Ducati's.

  • Just wish you had a higher quality mic. Hearing these in person is amazing....

That's why there so many Duc idling videos, because they sound meaner than just about any other bike standing still...

  • desmo valves or no, not TOO familiar on the ducs

nvm this oine has the cam belts. i had one that did. i had a paso with teh desmo valvetrain. love my ducs, but these are like 2 wheeled ferraris, gotta pay to play. not just in purchase cost, BUT in upkeep as well

  • gorgeous machine... i have outgrown sportbikes tho... now riding a cruiser... can't do that riding position and high strung engine no more... :(

  • @MonopostoDucati so is it possible if you the two pipes on a 1098 or 1198 merge into one?

it wouldn't make sense if you added the ones on the bottom since this is only a vtwin.

    do you work for ducati?

  • is it possible to have one fat pipe instead of 2 like the gp10?

i know the gp10 has the exhaust on the bottom to but thats a 4 cylinder anyone know?

  • 1098r vs bmw s1000rr that would be freakin awesome!

  • it's the very very best of all bikes in the world

  • Awesome bike man! I have a base model 1098 and I gotta say that the 1098r is G-spot of Ducati Superbikes. Its even better than the beastly heavy 1198. Its right on the money, perfect in every way.

  • Bella moto, purtroppo ha un cambio molto fragile!!!

Awesome bike but the gearbox is fragile

  • Che melodia!!!

  • Gorgeous bike!!

I'm getting an 848 in May and I was wondering about the open dry clutch. I don't live in a particularly wet area, nor do I plan on riding in the rain anyways. I was hoping you could just tell me more about it and why you decided to go with it. Thanks!

  • @DavideGiuseppe35 the 848 is with a wet clutch!!

  • Best Bike Ever

  • Ducati bikes are nice, but not reliable, sorry :(...........

  • @granit2006 They must be serviced by a good mechanic, a friend of mine in France has one of the first 916 with over 80.000 miles on it, it still runs great. But services are expensive.

  • nice bike n great sound. awesome!

  • pro: detached houses, a lot of green,

contra: the sounds of a lawnmower

  • On a bike that fast, I guess it's time to hit the brakes right after you see Jesus. LOL

That is one beautiful piece of machinery. Enjoy it.

  • oh. my. gosh. i just peed all over myself.

  • definately better then pussy

  • Fucking Ducati sounds like a goddamn Briggs and Stratton..... Overpriced Euro shit.

  • @socalpimp1974 you are extremely poor and a jealous hater. you have no idea what a true race machine sounds like. I bet you drive a Honda accord.

  • @socalpimp1974 Yeah, right. I guess the girls really get excited when they see you on your throw away plastic rice burner. NOT!

  • Sweet machine mate. Just bought a 1098R Bayliss Edition today, with the same exhaust system as yours. I already have a Streetfighter S with Termi's but my new bike sounds alot sweeter, as you would already know.

  • very nice, i like italian job in ducati!!! i prefer termignoni 2010 design than termignoni 2008-2009

  • Orgasmic... Ducati rulez the world!!

  • Beautiful bike....do you know the wheel colour code?

  • very nice:D

  • Beautiful machine! I really need to get my motorbike license now.

  • hey at the end you ask for a ride, if i showed up at your house would you let me take her out ?

  • Comment removed

  • beautiful

  • @hybelkan1nen people hate them because they have to sell their left nut, just to buy sprockets for the damn bike... seriously $300 for the OEM rear sprocket $300 OEM chain too... these are parts you will have to replace every once and awhile

  • that thing is hott.. if i had 40 grand i would have one too lol

  • They use dry clutches to reduce weight and prevent power loss due to parts moving in a fluid, the less resistance/friction, the more power. And personally I love the sound of a dry clutch, but I'm also a little biased twoards the ducati :)

  • Why dry clutch? Can someone explain ? Its sounds horrible!

  • address to the ducati 1098r; there was an italian painter named Elio Carletti, and he once defined beauty as " The summation of parts working together in such a way that nothing needed to be altered, added or taken away" and thats you, you are beautiful Ducati 1098r....lol =-), great looking bike bro im wanting to get a ducati 1098r or possible the 1198s after college but right now im just going to stick with my 954rr

  • Sick bike man! get some on board videos of rides, and i'll be a happy bunny.

  • ...........the top bike..................

  • That's better than pussy!

  • depends on who the pussy is coming from :p

  • @TheDesmoPilot then you never bin in a pussy before lol

  • @TheDesmoPilot yes you got 2 holes xD

  • Seems like most of the ducati videos on youtube are of the bike idling with a loud exhaust and open dry clutch. Do people actually ride them? Just curious....

  • @vatoencabronado

That is a legitimate observation...But not the case here. I am a rider, and this bike has thousands of miles on it already...I just also care for it meticulously, after its ritual weekend beatings.

  • I've got a 1098, but not an R :) It has a full termignoni exhaust, too, but the guy I bought it from had only put 2000 miles on it in over two years. You must be more like me, I put an additional 2000 in the two months I've owned it :) They're beautiful bikes, and sound fantastic, but they sound and look even better at speed. Glad to hear your R is being used properly!

  • @lfgriffs

weekend beatings? that bike rides you

  • @vatoencabronado ahahahahahahahahahah

  • @vatoencabronado

thats so true dude, all videos on youtube are about ducatis idling and their dry clutch lol, i got a same bike, and i got 6300miles on it all ready. lol but i drive it with my earphones,

  • @vatoencabronado

It is because the 1098/1198 are the moste beautiful bike out there.

  • @vatoencabronado i've only seen one riding in my life...but then again everytime i see it, it's parked!! no owner!! i even hopped on to take a pic with it

  • @bobscanfly everyone's probably already seen it, but here's one being ridden in anger! :)

    watch?v=LEzpvfeg5SY

  • Grouse

  • Gotta love a Ducati, they're badass!

  • awesome i want one.

  • this thing is basically the same performance of a desmosedici, for half the price

  • You can't appreciate how loud and forceful that is in a video compared to real life...sweet

  • The torque on that thing must be monstrous.

  • crafty italians, this thing is the ferrari of motorcycles

  • !!! orgasm !!!

  • maybe....37000$...in italy are 35000eur

  • too much...

  • Tha "R"

  • like butta !

  • falla cantare di piu la moto!!!!!! cmq complimenti

  • and a mower next door .....

  • brilliant! thanks 211

  • Uh-oh i think i got some wood

  • 186bhp. wow. this is THE track bike supreme.

  • hell ya i would love to take a ride on that bike

  • Just curious, any reason you didn't buy the desmosedici over this?

  • the desmosedici cost 76K this one is like 45K

  • that is one sexy looking bike!!

  • I love Ducati, but for me there is nothing like the 4L japanese sound

  • i prefer the italian v10 sound

  • What a good looking big this is. Any man who own one of this is a happy man.

  • great bike!!

  • I Love The 70MM.

  • My Ducati love will never die.

  • bro.. hide the signal lites at the 2 space between e tail lites.

    thumbs up!

    nice bike!

  • these bikes sound great! it's like listening to a nascar v8s

  • bellissima complimenti

  • Its beautiful!

  • what a bike...

  • No offensive guy but for 50 000.00 ill get a inteternal Gixxer with a REAL racer sound.

This shit sound likes a mad truck. LOL

  • I find your lack of cultural taste for motorbikes terrible...

And if that sounds like a truck, I supposed u mean those overkill trucks they go and RACE with (that, if anything, is badass)

  • Well you don't have to buy the r model. The original model would do too for only 15k. That sound is also Italian engineering. Not Japs

  • Nope. Ducatis are passion not engineering.

  • at 10,000 rpm's it sounds like a smoothed out Screaming Jet Engine..

  • fuckn amazing

  • i just fall in love

  • Is The Ideal High?

  • Idle -.-

  • You Knew What I Ment.

  • meant* :p

  • hahahahaha.

  • Pretty please Santa, Iv'e been such a good boy this year!........

  • dude omg omg omg that is one bad ass bike!!!! totally love that sound coming out of it!!!! You have to love that 1098 R!

  • shuddup

  • your mother sucks! dixx!

  • i love termis.

  • Termignoni + Ducati.

  • sounds like a motorboat... nyahahaha!

  • Lucky bastard!

  • ...$56,000 (AUS)

  • this may not be the best audio quality...but the 1098R is possibly the most amazing audio you could get out of a bike...for a much better example search "Ducati 1098R Termignoni Exhaust Carbon Pipes sound" that vid has a bit better audio and you'll find yourself absolutely loving the v-twins after that...

  • Thanks mate - the vid you referred to is brilliant. Am currently deciding b/w Multistrada (obv w/ the Termis) and GSXR750. The MS is only Ducati that I can comfortably ride but I might just wait til I can afford two bikes and get the 1098 or its successor instead if it sounds this good!

  • Sounds like a lawn mower. When did they make the 1098R with a dry clutch? Needs a slipper.

  • Hmmmm, Maybe some of you don't understand the beauty of an 1198cc twin pounding through an open exhaust...That's too bad. Slipper clutch? Great idea, it's just that IT IS a dry, slipper Ducati Performance clutch, right from the factory. That's okay, it's my bike, not yours, and I love it.

  • No question it is a cool bike- just the dry clutch clank that I personally dont like. I might feel different if I actually had the opportunity to feel that twin pounding as you suggest. Be safe.

  • The dry clutch sounds louder on tape than it really is because in real life the exhaust sound is so loud you don't hear much else.

  • thats cos he isnt REVVING it!!! I personally love the mechanical nature of the sound at idle.

  • It's amazing how all these Ducati haters spend so much time writing all these shitty comments. If you don't like it, don't watch it.

    Awesome bike btw man!!

But too expensive for me, unfortunately. They're about 39.000euros in Belgium.

  • @genkster3600 Yea its always "I could buy 25 so and soes for the price of a Desmosedeci" Its weird too how you never see a Ducati owner writing shit on a gxxer, r1, cbr, etc video.

  • @genkster3600 Haters only watch what they envy. They are jealous they cant afford it. They are made because they are poor.

  • @genkster3600

    i got me a 1098S Tricolore at araound 14.000€ (used) september 2010.

lot of bike & sound 4 that money

  • @freeclimb64

i love that Tricolore edition. that's a pretty good price.

  • just wow

  • dude... make that bike sound like a real sport bike. so nice looking bike for such a lame sound... =( im guessing the engine is in V that's why u get the ugly sound?

  • Twins sound best in my pinion.

  • you have something seriously wrong with your ears.

  • questa moto è già un mito!

  • Beautiful! Love the sound from the open clutch.
