Giant spider movies commonly fail to address just exactly how spiders that large are able to breathe. Massive growth is not enough. The spiders would have to abandon the arachnid physiology and develop lungs or somesuch. Insects remain small because their breathing mechanism depends on diffusion through tiny pores in the skin. I wonder if any movie will ever address this?
