  • use ssl-encription for your pw and email exchange. use h-t-t-p-s on facebook. ALWAYS. then, the sniffer won't understand.

wpa2 can only be hacked by brute-force (pw-list). just think of a secure pw...

wep sucks, it can easily be hacked by algorithms.

    correct? anyone?

  • I do this to my family, so I can see what they google XD

  • To say that sending information encrypted via any protocol (even WPA-2) is unsecure is really naive. information between a mobile device and a routing device via WPA standard encryption is completely encrypted by 128bit encryption. it would take roughly 2^18 years to brute force a 128bit key.

  • So people that start there cars and open there front door Locke's wireless are going to get screwed right?

  • how can i boost my wirelass adapter to pick up open wifi?

  • He didn't even say anything about Wifi packet sniffing.

  • Ever hear of SSL and SSH dumbass?

  • @djaa2807 Ever heard of SSLstrip?

  • These people are goons

  • The girl's such a dumb ass.

  • @jettyguy Totally agree

  • Hehe This dude i megga-lame he's acting like he has some kind of automagical "program" lulz to crack WPA/WPA2 (in 2007 ) a total cracker program he's like uber l33t haha, he has no idea what the acronims stand for he probably has no idea how to tie his shoes, thank god he has some big monitors to divert attention from his ineptitude... I'm sure he's running some kind of cloud service which computing hash tables in a parallel dimension ;) (BTW i am a wireless security professional)

  • who's the girl?

  • all the hi-tech gear this guy has and he can't post a 1080P video

  • @JayzBeerz it's from a live feed, you can't realy have a 1080p streaming live on most isp's

  • wpa2 is totally different it uses a 128 bit encryption cipher instead. Also he didnt talk about mac filtering. this can also be sniffed out

  • this guys like a nerady candian version of hak5

  • Make a random password, copy and paste it into your Devices, and then forget it. Much safer. Like a 64-128BIT passcode/password anything like fjakejnfiuefwi3982rh3289r32wfnafd can't be picked up by pass sniffers as it's not apart of a dictionaries

  • one of the chatter said WEP = we eat pizza..lols!

  • I use netstumbler for sniffing out the free ones in my area.

  • Stupid people - like those that don't recognise scam email frauds, and that do things over unsecured networks deserve everything they get.

  • sister: i dont have to pay for internet

me: no your stealing it from your neighbour its a bad idea

    sister: no its free

    *facepalm*

  • I hate that feature on iphone/ipad.

  • Who saw George Bush in the Chat? :D

  • All hal getting your own router!!

  • sub four sub

  • wep is Wired Equivalent Privacy

  • @MrBrian987987: let my band free, u baldy kiddo!

  • 2:24

Your talking to a woman who uses an iPhone. You think she knows what your talking about?

  • i remember how you used to be able to pick up random peoples wireless home phone calls

  • Why do people use WEP? How in the name of god they remember those encryption keys is beyond me but whats wrong with making your own WPA password?

  • I leave my wireless network unsecure and when my neighbors think they are getting free internet, I use wireshark to try and gain access to the data in the packets that I receive. MY wireless network is separate from my personal home network. HAHA.

  • disable wifi and pull thoes stoopid annoying arials off your router use cable in your house. wifi everywhere else

  • You can't crack wpa the same way as wep...dumass.

Unless your password was in a dictionary somewhere, good luck cracking wpa,

  • i get free wi fi in my home from my neighber :D

  • @MrBrian987987 Your neighbor is watching you watch p0rn.

  • WPA is wifi protected access

  • i hack wifi on my laptop wep wap everything i live life free.

  • @ak47killer200 And if I catch you, I will kick you ass in a very analog manner.

  • War Driving, War Viewing, etc. Sucks to not have a car!

  • i represent war walking son.

  • WPA safer than WEP but not 100% safe

  • I'd pick WPA2-AES over WPA or WEP.

  • Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP)

  • What about VPN software.

  • I wanted to experience the nature of a hack. So I wanted to setup an insure system. turned off my router firewall and windows firewall. I did password protect my VNC. Then I rebooted. Under 10 minutes I was hacked and the remote ip was from russia and bypassed my VNC and started controlling my pc instantly first by end task to see whats running.

  • yayayaya

the best is WPA2 combined with MAC adress filtering

  • wpa can take less time to crack than wep if u have a good dictionary. also mac filtering can be bypassed by simply spoofing you mac

  • check: JETZTFUNKTSde

  • it can take days even weeks to encript the info lol

  • chris is awesome, the chat on the video is hilarious too

  • the only thing i use others wireless for is pirating because mine is slow as hell

  • All those killer Bees after my honey comb

  • SSH tunneling is your friend :)

  • WEP = Don't use it, it's pretty unsecure.

WPA = Secure for 70%, pretty good.

WPA2 = Completed version of WPA,

the best encryption for homeuse today.

It has new AES alhgorith and CCMP to

restrict and make it hard for evil people.

  • See, but a lot of the older computers that people have aren't even compatible with WPA.

  • Or dont use wifi at all

  • could you do a vid going into more detail about protecting your home/office pc. from wi-fi leechers. ive just downloaded "mywifizone" software. I havent checked it out fully yet. i havent a clue about this hole wi-fi security thing so a vid would be helpful. thanks

  • LMFAO... dawn french and 'screech' in a transatlantic collaberation on ignorance... fckin beautil.. still laughing

  • thats ur common 1d-10T what u wanna do is reset ur router if theres no button unplug it plug it back in

  • hahaha sucker

  • lol at 'whats wep?'... lmfao

  • i love chris why not on call of duty anymore

  • its just wireless internet like you would connect to at your house or a local shop or something. He's talking about wep and wpa, which are different forms of passwords to networks.

  • wep

    we eat pizza ftw

  • Wired Equivalent Privacy

    Wi-Fi Protected Access

  • this kids a n00b

  • Hotspot Shield provides free encryption and via VPN Software. Works for Macs and PCs. For more information google "hotspot shield troubleshooting blog". Click on the first link.

  • I have to agree, this go sounds like NoBomba, talks a good game but knows little if anything...

When you do a video & can't cite the terms commonly used, you fail to make the points. This guy is clearly an idiot, trying to look "officially intelligent". Just like NoBomba, he fails to seal the deal...

  • WTF BBQ, n00b.

  • o ya i forgot to ask what is this show that guy doesn't know crap but just acts like he does and the the girl act like she doesn't know crap (which is true) and both i think are certifiable

  • wpa = crackable

mac address filter is good though

  • everything is crackable.

fake mac address is not a secret. beside using mac address filter, always change your password is the way to do, but i doubt who will do this.

  • Wouldn't someone have to know the MAC address allowed on a network to be able to fake MAC?

Of course, if my wireless network isn't broadcasting SSID, is MAC filtered, and I'm surrounded by unsecured networks, then I'm probably safer, since it's easier to break into a completely unsecured network.

  • Disabling SSID broadcast and MAC filters are a complete waste of time. WPA/WPA2 with a long passphrase gives you the best security. The longer the passphrase, the more complex the encryption.

Besides there are enough morons out there that do not encrypt their wifi.

    WEP - Wired Equivalent Privacy

    WPA - Wifi Protected Access

  • Are you saying that because I have WPA using a randomly generated (slapped the keyboard with open palms a couple times) 25 character letter, number, symbol passphrase, disabling SSID and using a MAC filter serve no real purpose?

  • That is exactly what I am saying. hidden SSIDs and MAC filters are absolutely pointless. It is like a wrapping a tank in a paper sack. The tank's armor is infinitely superior to the paper sack covering it from gun fire.

  • bcoulal since you know about wifi why wep used rc4 pl dont google just tell mr all know lol

  • google it

  • who is this guy..he's giving advice and dont know what WEP is....

  • WEP is the stander encryption on your wireless connection, WPA is a stronger type of encryption, but still able to be cracked, with dictionary based crackers.

  • i use wpa-psk so im ver sucure also i use obnly specific mac addres are allound aceseing my network

  • WEP is by no means a protocol. It's just an algorithm. It stands for Wired Equivalent Privacy.

  • I like what your doing man but isn't it obvious that everything here is fake. Im talking about that chat text..they are not live chats they are pictures of sentences to make it look like its a live chat. You paid that women to ask specific questions..as I said I like what your doing but its too obvious that you havent done your homework 'fully'..again, good work but your trying to hard man...it looks like a setup and not a natural TV program...looks like a revised show.

  • thats his wife and its real chat u twit!

  • thats his wife and its real chat u twit!

  • Dude you siriously should go to his site and join chat you can see what you say on the live stream.

  • Just one word - Xirrus

  • Question.......

What is more secure WEP key, WPA-PSK key(TKIP), WPA-PSK(AES)?

  • WPA Is Very Good. If You Can, Try WPA-2.

  • WEP = Wired Equivelant Privacy (just encrypts traffic) - the connection key can be sniffed, cracked, and connection accessed, WPA = Wireless Protected Access (uses a password to access the AP or Wireless Router, WPA Enterprise = WPAE (Uses a Username AND Password to access an AP or Wireless Router). 802.11a = 5Ghz band, 802.11g/b/n = 2.4Ghz band (b = 11mb/s bandwidth, g = 54mb/s bandwidth (turbo g = 108mb/s), n = up to 300mb/s bandwidth. Bandwidth is not the same thing as throughput kiddies!

  • About WPA being "broken / hacked". Not if you use a strong password.

Like a one from GRC's Ultra High Security

    Password Generator ;)

  • I dont know if chris will read this but my iphone can only acsess wifi when there is no encription settings how dangerus could that be lol

  • lol gearoge bush was in there

  • Its Wired Equivalent Protocol

  • wep stands for wired equivalant privacy

  • Lol check out wat the guy in orange typed at 43 secs

  • yea rofl!

  • awsome!!

  • not orange but green ;)

  • iPhones and iPod Touch's or almost any WiFi device should be forcing the question of security that is inherently problematic with wireless connectivity of this nature. However, these devices also maybe used inversely as the packet sniffer. The Neighborhood Network Watch has begun operational testing with using the iPod Touch as a portable packet sniffing package for deployment in mapping threats in the public WiFi sphere.

  • tank's

  • lol, sooner or lator, chris's memory will go blank in a POOF!!

  • If I put my package on my laptop keyboard and forget it when I slam the screen down to close it, will it cause an audio effect toward my vocal pitch?

  • Forget the iPhone when u can get iPod touch w/out service.

  • look at 39 shes lloking at the camera!!!

  • your point?

  • i never have encryption on my network. i usually use a wire for important stuff (email, passwords etc) and don't mind people walking by using my internet.. i wish more people would take this attitude, i cant get any free wifi out and about :(

  • amen, dude

  • Hello Chris and Ponzi The best security for home/office might include removing wireless devices/installing all hardline.M/S wireless is especially worrisome!Too much range. The bad guys can sniff all the way to sat. freqs. and infra-red.Best of luck guys.We enjoy the shows

  • WPA= Wi-Fi Protected Access

Also WPA was more like a beta for WPA2. Most of the security standards of 802.11i are not enabled in WPA but supposed to be enabled in WPA2

  • dude, go get a third monitor and play world of warcraft

  • WIRED EQUIVILANT PROTECTION

  • sorry for caps, oh and the P is privacy... yeah

  • another good vid man!

  • I turn off the broadcast of the SSID of my router, so that my network doesn't show up on anyones computer in my neighborhood.

  • You could do that. Except that you are not really hidden at all. With the right tools, another user can still find you.

  • Yes, VPN is safe even if you are using a nonsecure network.

  • yes vpn is a virtual private network, but not everything is perfect.

  • Is it safe to use VPN though a wireless connection?

  • OpenVPN or IPsec are as secure as you can get when it comes to VPN, and there are current no known way to crack it; WPA can be cracked under an hour.

  • enter the MAC address of the devices you wish to allow on your network in the router settings. Increases the security.

  • You could do that. Expect that it is possible to spoof (clone) a MAC address on a PC.

  • lol ya make me laugh Chris
