A key thing they left out of that commercial: that is AT&T's EDGE coverage, NOT their 3G. Whereas the map Verizon touts is actually their 3G coverage and Verizon's AT&T map is pretty accurate for AT&T's 3G coverage.
Another interesting thing, while typing this post I noticed that AT&T removed the map fro their 3G coverage from their website and it now is only a list of cities (in only 46 states). I guess they didn't want people to see that Verizon was right.
Shut up AT&T, all you guys care about is getting MONEY, MONEY, MONEY, you dont care about courteous customer care or coverage which is another reason why Verizon is killing you, besides Verizon has the network, but you only have Luke Wilson which is way less important than reliability.
AT&T, stop using Luke Wilson to help you try stealing more Verizon customers away, Verizon is killing AT&T which makes it no wonder you guys even failed your lawsuit against Verizon.
AT&T's wireless data coverage reaches 303 million people -- or 97% of the U.S. population, where they live and work.
Not to mention, AT&T also has the nation's fastest 3G network. This network covers 233 million people or 75% of the population. All AT&T 3G devices connect to AT&T's EDGE network covering 301 million people or 96% of the population.
If anyone actually did their research, they'd know that the Verizon commercial is talking about 3G... as in web surfing.
This big orange AT&T map is normal cell phone coverage, NOT 3G. But they don't tell you that do they! They're not telling you on purpose.
So what is the point of this commercial? To confuse the uneducated masses and manipulate them into believing a lie that was never spoken, but assumed on their part. That way, they're not legally liable for lying.
Yeah @wutzernutzer, but Verizon has the network, but AT&T only has Luke Wilson which is another reason why AT&T is losing the wireless rivalry over Verizon & why AT&T is getting hot under the collar about it.
Verizon was referring to 3G. AT&T may cover 97% of Americans.... but not with 3G.

Except 97% of that 97% isn't 3G.

How can Verizon Dominate the market when:
AT&T's wireless data coverage reaches 303 million people -- or 97% of the U.S. population, where they live and work.
