As we all know UFC is a business, it needs to run and has to run well, Brock was going to retire anyways, so his loss to Overeem was preplanned. From now on UFC will make money due to the presence of Overeem.

Contrary if Brock won and retired after one more fight, Overeem's image would be destroyed and Overeem would be introduced as a loser to UFC world. He wouldn't sell a lot of PPV in coming fights.

To prove this, we see now that everybody has now turned to Overeem fun.... and praising him.
